You should timestamp this with the points you are trying to make for easy resource man. I already have to sit through 20 hours to text dialogue boxes haha.
Great list. I’ve put in about 65 hours now - on my 3rd play through (chapter 18). 2nd play through is where I got the True End. After my planned 4th play, I’ll have all characters and all endings.
Awesome video! Would definitely like to see more content of this game from you. Maybe a tier list of best characters with recommended loadout (skills and accessories) or promotion and weapon upgrade priority seeing as medals are finite. Cheers!
I put Rudolf in my 10 man lineup for one playthrough. He's decent. Traps and sleep arrows can hold off enemy flankers while I dealt with a priority. He badly needs accuracy rings and his promotions to hit stuff though.
Oh man, I almost missed out on Corentin! I loved using him in the first demo, so I had no idea he was locked to the Hyzante option early on. I'm glad I frequently rotate my saves!
@@pn2294 After using both extensively, I found that Rudolph was easily replaceable whereas Corentin brought unique and powerful skills no one else has access to. There are 4 different archers in Triangle Strategy vs. 1 ice mage (technically 2 if you count Narve but he can't do any of the unique things Corentin can). Between the 4 archers I'd say Rudolph is easily the worst one.
@@pn2294 Yes he hits hard, but he is missing much of the other archer's utility that makes them so good. Hughette and Archibald both gain range increases; Hughette can keep enemies stuck in place and/or blind them; Archibald gets the ability to hit almost anything from anywhere; Trish gets the ability to easily reposition herself; and Hughette has incredible movement range; Rudolph's big thing is damage and some bulk, but his damage isn't much higher, if higher at all, and his extra bulk is pretty irrelevant since your archers shouldn't be taking damage. By going for Rudolph over Corentin you are giving up a far more unique unit that offers up a lot of strategic possibilities for an easily replaceable archer whos main selling point is damage.
@@RozalinGaming unique doesn’t automatically mean good; especially when half of his skills can hinder your own melee units as much as the enemy Not to mention he’s pretty useless without TP and upgrades
I just finished my first ending… I was doing great until that terrible day where I first did Battle At The Ministry… I spent around 5 months trying to beat that ;-;
About the 4 unit choice: If you previous defended the village you can return to, the unit you get is incredible. Her mobility rivals that of Ser Maxwell, and she's ranged, and if you choose one of the endgame options where you'll encounter Aesfrost units, Flame Arrow is an extra hard hitting truck. I found her significantly more useful than the dancer, at any rate. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those 4 units, really. Just saying I've had a field day with thr bandit archer. She's super good.
In terms of the 4 unit choice, I'd put Trish and Milo on par with each other, slightly favoring Milo due to how many other archers there are and Milo having better movement due to her ability to pass through enemies and obstacles. Travis is by far the least useful of the bunch but even he isn't bad. Cordelia is somewhere in the middle; she's great when she's great but meh everywhere else.
I've became a JRPG fan in the last few years, but mostly I play action or turn-based ones. I'm interested in this game but I'm not sure about getting it. Does it have perma-death ? Is it a good starting point for someone that never played any game in this style ?
There isn’t permadeath in this game. I think it’s a good one to start with because all the recruitable units have a great use and fill a specific niche. This allows for you to easily change your play style to whatever you want without having to re-spec any units.
There is no perma-death (if there was I would have lost my MCs fiancee in the very first fight actually LOL). This one is a relatively easy game to get into as a starting point, but if you're curious I would recommend checking out the demo for the game as it contains the first 3 chapters and should give you a good idea of the game's core concepts.
If you're going to play through multiple times to see more you msy want to avoid the dancer the first time since you recruit them as part of the golden route you're probably not doing the first time. If you get them the first time you'd have to play through it 5 times to get everything instead of 4.
@@joqahtani you still can if you don't care about getting the other 3 optional units, because going back to dancer's route is a requirement to get the golden ending.
Units are only as "useless" as much as you've invested in them, and resources are fairly limited until NG+. The only unit I found to be "useless" was Medina, the item focused healer character, and it's not that she's bad. She's objectively good, just expensive to really get thr most out of her and I dislike grinding in SRPGs as a general rule.
What difficulty are you playing on? Starting at like the fourth/fifth battle the game gets quite challenging on hard I'm enjoying it - but tedious. Might go down one notch til NG+
I actually dropped to normal on NG+ because I couldn't beat the first stage. Trish does like 165 damage per hit from the front on NG+ hard stage 1. I'm actually not really sure how they expect you to win the fight honestly.
Update: finished a hard run, which was extremely tedious and then had the same NG+ results as well haha. I went into the first battle on normal NG+ and the units has 800+ hp to my 250-350
@@jansporteD nice work. Once you get everyone up to lvl 50 and unlock the most useful abilities the game gets pretty redundant quick. With the right team you'll steam roll every battle
Is there any way to see the odds of status effects taking effect, such as blind or poison? Seems kind of strange that such a hardcore strategy game would hide such important information to the player. Makes it hard to take informed decisions.
i have to admit, i forgot about the Quietus the whole first playthrough *lol now i'm in new game + but i have no access to my conviction status o_ô where do i find it? i thought at the grocer, but i have no such option whatsoever
Class and weapon upgrade materials can't be farmed; they are restocked in the Kudos shop and merchant at set intervals and given out as rewards from story battles. You need to do NG+ to fully upgrade everyone.
Literally having the same issue. I shot myself in the foot when I fully upgraded Groma and expected to be able to upgrade her weapon too. Then I found out the leather had been used already and it has not replenished since🥺😭
@@evanschumacher1730 Yep. Class upgrade medals and weapon upgrade materials (not the farmable spoils) are limited per playthrough; to fully upgrade everyone you need to do NG+.
Medina and Picoletto are my current most used/best usage characters. Decoy is a monster damage soak and throwing items is insane with all the items in the game to effect the terrain + heal passives from Medina. 😖🤓
If you only got a few then it's most likely because you were rushing through the story. Things like doing mock battles, purchasing items from vendors, talking to everyone, and even the actions you take in battle all give morality. For reference, I had all but 3 non-route/story locked characters by like chapter 8.
