I see your point. If I had more time in my class, I certainly would separate Mesopotamian cultures and the Persian Empire. Unfortunately, the textbook covers them in the same chapter, so I'm following that organization. Thanks for your feedback!
Egypt is the biggest civilization in the ancient near east, why the hell is that not included? Why do people confuse a region like the middle east/near east (which is transcontinental) with western asia? The 2 are not synonymous. So ignorant
@@eh-lo2do No, Egypt was part of the fertile crescent but it was not part of Mesopotamia. And no, the first most complex civilization was ancient Egypt. The question of whether or not Summer's civilization came before ancient Egypt is a different topic and is still disputed. Also the title state "Ancient Near East" so naturally with a title like that, Egypt should included.

Only Sumer is a possibly older civilization than Egypt out of the other Mesopotamian civilizations if we don't consider Egypt's establishment before the unification of upper and lower Egypt. The unification of Egypt happened in 3100BC and that is how we usually date back how old Egypt's civilization was but Egypt as a civilization existed before that unification of 3100BC. Anyways, it looks like you have been to American schools which shows how ignorant you are of this subject. The American education system is terrible and you just proved it to me lol
