    Hello dearest Brenda, I don't know if you ever going to see this comment. I just wanted to say that I can't really find the time to actively watch your new videos, but I still return to your first few videos to help me clean. Nothing gets me up and going like seeing you getting your life back. It's now 10 p.m. here in Germany and I am sitting in my super tiny, super messy flat and I am cleaning - slowly, but I am cleaning. Thank you so much for publishing these videos, I don't know what I would do without you. All the best to you!

    Have you noticed that the only time a cat walks across the floor is just after you washed it and it is still wet, leaving tiny little paw prints. How cute is that. My cat always uses her litter box right after I've cleaned it and vacuumed those little pieces of litter. I have resigned to doing some things twice. You are the best and your house is becoming your cozy home again.

      You are such an inspiration Brenda. I have been knocked down with chronic fatigue so I understand how you work, rest, work, rest. Something I found so very helpful is an upright vacuum cleaner. I purchased a little Electrolux (one the can be removed from the stem for cleaning the car or small jobs). It has helped me so much cos it is so light I can vacuum each day more easily than sweeping. Keep going strong. You are a winner.

    Looked like grease chunks coming back up in the sink. I don't have a garbage disposal so I pour my grease in an old tin can. Also at Dollar Tree or most dollar stores they have a plastic cover to place over food for the microwave. It has saved my shoulder from scrubbing (had shoulder surgery in March and I am almost able to return back to work). I'm very happy to see that you are keeping up with your house work and that you are feeling well enough physically and mentally for company!

    It took me 3 hours to clean my kitchen tonight. And that wasn't even vacuuming or washing the floors. That was dishes, organizing, cleaning the stove, more dishes, organizing the pantry, putting away dishes and cleaning the counter.. 3 hours.. but I just cant do it quick. I have to take my time now. My back hurts, It's the dead of summer so I sweat like crazy and I have hypothyroidism. It takes a lot to get me moving and going. I love watching your videos. It really helps me and motivates me to do more. I watched all your videos tonight and then went and cleaned my kitchen.

    You just picked up a new subbie. Your sarcasm towards yourself is infectious keeps me laughing. I think EVERYTHING happens for a reason. I can't use my physical illness as an excuse for my constant chaos and disorganization. Truth is, I was easily distracted and easily overwhelmed even when I was healthy no matter what I try to accomplish. My illness only escalated the problem. I've been on my own journey (tho I refuse to record it. . . I'm not as brave as you) of decluttering my life because I want have a simpler life and go Tiny as in Tiny House. I realized like you did, miraculous things CAN happen even in little bits and pieces at a time and it has worked to get me from a "don't want to live anymore" to "I can achieve great things despite my challenges." Unfortunately, I hit a plateau and slowly watched my clutter grow again, partly because I've been breaking my own rule of not removing as much STUFF as I bring into the house from shopping. Gots to do better. . . Know that you are inspiring a lot of people and I for one am glad I stumbled upon you. . . not sure how because I was watching videos on how to grow hair. LOL Anywho, keep up the good work! You should be proud!

    I'm glad I came upon your journey. I work in home oxygen and I come upon many homes in the same condition as where you started. Your videos grabbed at me because I thought to myself this is likely how many of my patients feel! Some of the folks could maybe, maybe do a bit more for themselves; however, I think most of them are like you and would like their homes to be tidy and clean like they used to keep it.

    I have watched this video many times (as I am housecleaning) and I cannot express to you how similar we are. I have also had to go through the "slowing down" process and it sure kicks you in the butt. I never considered myself a "depressive" type personality. I just cowgirled up and just ploughed through. But when I slowed down physically, like I did, something happened to me mentally that I really did not expect and that really hit me hard. I couldn't believe how down it got me. I had to change my whole way of thinking about myself and my pace of getting things done...It was so much more difficult than I expected and I have been through a lot. Your videos are so amazing because they helped me to realize that it was ok to accept this new me. Your handle name is perfect for your channel........ "My New Me"👍🏼I love when you film your "slow self." That's me in a nutshell. You said so many things in this video that paralleled my life so perfectly. Even when you said even a "shower and dressing can be exhausting." So true. The only one person I feel comfortable talking to about this New Me is my mother and that is only because she could see how much I had slowed down and she asked me if I was ok. I HAD to tell her because you know moms, they worry so much.I share so many of your opinions and your approaches to tasks. I get that. Thanks so much for sharing your struggles and triumphs and giving us courage to embrace our challenges. I had to give up my vegetable garden also. I didn't give it up totally though, I cut way back but I still have 3 tomato plants in containers!!😂😂 I appreciate your sharing this journey more than you know. God Bless you and yours.❤️

    I am so excited to have found you last week I suffer from depression and my house is a disaster. Watching you clean is so motivating to me since it looks more like mine than some of these cleaning my "messy house" youtubers. You motivated me to clean my kitchen last week. It took four days but I am proud to say all my dishes are done, my fridge is clean and you can see all my counter tops. Which is something I haven't been able to say i a few years. I am excited to start working on my living room and being able to start having people over. No one besides my husband and i have been in the house in over six month. I am ashamed to admit in the 5 years we have lived in this house, most of my friends and family have never been inside because, of the mess. I am looking forward to changing that. Can't wait to watch your next video.

    The boy is awesome :) We have a septic here so we have to use something like ridex in our kitchen sink or it will back up like that. We also do the baking soda warm vinigar and dawn dish soap thing with 2 big pots of boiling water after washing really greasy pots and pans just to try to stay ahead of it.

    Thank you so much for sharing, I also have been dealing with health issues that just about beat me down. Your honest approach has inspired me. Please keep sharing, I have learned I do what I can, when I can-slowly but surely I am making progress. I love your sense of humor and how you talk to yourself-do not be so hard on yourself please. I have been told I am my own worst critic-was used to being able to go,go and then go some more-not now. I ue the list method myself-try to get as much down as I can, then I rest, and back at it once again. Prayers and blessings to you and your son.

    Awesome video. I am just the way you are, or were. I had a right femoral bypass on my right leg at the knee. I used to be a professional maid in the former MGM Grand. I have been a perfectionist since I was in my early 20's. My house is so dirty right now it depresses me. You are bringing back the drive in me. I think all the time on how to tackle a project and just that overwhelms me. I put everything off until tomorrow. God give me the strength.

    • @mynewme8759
      @mynewme8759  7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      You can do it, I know you can. But letting go of that perfectionism instinct in us can be really hard. I had finally reached the stage where I HAD to just remove the top layer of crud before I could even clean anything. Making it perfect can come later. Right now, it's all about the cleaning and making it livable. I hope you can get here with me as well. Good luck!!

    Yesterday I cleaned my living room after not doing it for weeks due to health problems. I have crazy dogs and it's not easy to keep clean for a long time, though I know it's easier if I do it every day. Today I got home after a long day and saw your video and it inspired me to tidy it up. Just picking up the dog toys and sweeping helped a lot! Thank you!

  • @PHAT4LifeTV
    @PHAT4LifeTV 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    From a person who have more "BAD DAYS" physically than good days, you had me on the floor cracking up with "Nobody is going go steal your crud." This my second time watching your video. I am no where near as brave as you (showing my struggle with my house that is. . . I'm fearless with other parts of my life as my TH-cam videos will reveal) **devilishly smirking . BTW your boy became my favorite BOY too! My BOY works nights and I know if he was around he would do MORE of the BOY stuff. Took a long time to even accept I needed anyone. That "list" he offered to you is MOTIVATION to create such a list for my BOY (although I need my 27 yr old BOY to get a place of his own to be at the top of my list) LOL Like you I am easily distracted and very intrigued by the OCDish things you get stuck on. You have endeared me to you 4ever just for being you. Believe it or not those things you get stuck on makes you a great engineer, scientist and other STEM areas, not just being domestic and crafty (not that I'm knocking that,, as I pride myself on being skilled at both). I'm just saying instead of me complaining about how nobody encouraged me into technical fields to becoming beacon and steering more women into those fields., I just luckily stumbled into it and became a computer specialist instead of the Fashion Designer I started off in college to be. Some of the most artsy and creative people are ALSO some of the most technically inclined people and I am glad to be able to recognize" potential in the least expected persons ESPECIALLY WOMEN. I spotted it in my grand daughter and I dont want to make the same mistake with her. .Having lived life I wish people around me steered me towards more technical careers but soon as somebody mention MATH I went yikes, don't want to go into nothing that relied upon that yet am a career computer specialist. My younger, healthier self would have laughed at the thought because I was such an artsy, crafty, good at cooking and sewing type of person, so I wasn't even thinking engineer or computer specialist in even a remote way, yet here I am about to embark on a journey into the Solar industry. If people would have said you can be an engineer because you're good at problem solving instead of you have to be good at math (which I wasn't bad at it, I just hated it). LOL A lot of people hate math. I'm definitely not by myself. I hate I ruled my own self out of certain careers just because I hated math and yet in decades of working in the IT field I have NEVER encountered an algebraic equation. LOL But now I am about to become a Solar ENGINEER because I realized that those OCDish things we do also makes us good at problem solving and that;s what engineers are. . . problem solvers. Even to take time to get lighting right for a camera is very technical and people who watch TH-cam videos don't really realize how much technology is involved with getting the right angles and our "creative" "tripods for the simplest and mundane subject matter. Vlogging is an art and science all unto itself and I'm proud of you diving right in and tackling it. too. It takes a LOT of thought to even create videos at all and that's what made me drawn to you. I hope I don't scare you off with my "book comments". I am rooting for you and feel inspired not to give up despite my pain and challenges. Everything happens for a reason. #NewSubbie

    Bleach will usually clean out pipes. Also it looked like a lot of oil/grease based material coming out of the pipes. If I have extra grease left over I will put a couple of paper towels in the trash and tip the pan over on them so they can drain and then toss.
