i hope the frigate is the last big ship , instead of future ships getting bigger and bigger they should focus on ships made for a specific purpose, for example a ship based on traveling , cargo runs , fighting and more
As that other guy said there’s more bigger ships coming and in addition they will also be adding specialised ships but they won’t be coming until very late.
About the Frigate's availability, I honestly doubt it'll be almost "clan leader exclusive" or something on that line of thought, sinse Vetex has plans for the Ship of the Line in the latter game, which is something sometimes bigger than a Man O' War which is stupid big... The frigate, size comparring, was usually a Ship a bit longer then a Brig (sinse it had 3 main masts vs the Brig that has 2) but didnt have that cabinet part that the Brig has. On the other hand, it was known to have 3 lines of cannons (1 on deck and 2 bellow deck), but some had only 2 like the Brig has (but sinse its longer, coud have more cannons per line) so it'll probably be something like 50k to 80k galleons to buy (probably), that we should be able to do fairly easy with the new cargo hold feature.
I just double checked the trello, and one of the ship Ideas is a ship of the line, Ships of the line historically have been battleships and just big cannon ships, and the ship after frigate is a galleon, so I believe that there will be multiple larges ships after the frigate. another thing, modern day frigates are larger than corvettes(very small ships) but smaller than destroyers(escorts used by navies to escort cruisers, aircraft carriers, and large ships in general), so I dont think they will be hugely larger than current ships.
Bro they take the concept of ship combat system from AC IV Black FLAG SO THEY CAN BE add 1. Firing system for the back of the ship 2. Oil or explosive barrels to fire up the water 3. Also add crew members on the harpoons types gun (I can't recall that name rn😅) so while in comber with any ship we just need to hold any switch just for example T to auto fire on the last targeted ship Thanks for reading this and yeah if it sounds cool then plz plz plz tell VETEX about it 😅😅😅
Number two might be added as ship attachments cause having preferably Greek fire looking things would be cool. But I want magic torpedos and those harpoons the Corsair pirates use in the nimbus sea to pull in enemy ships so I can torpedo them to oblivion.
I have a feeling that the Frigate will be the 'fast' endgame ship, which is perhaps the cheapest out of them. Galleons would be very expensive, but have large cargoholds. The Lineship, depending how big they go, from Fourth to First Rate, would be the crown jewel of any fleet and would be very slow, but heavily armoured and armed with many decks of cannons, perhaps 50 to 60 guns for fourth rates, while second and first rates would have 90 to 110 guns at the maximum. I think the biggest ship solo players can get without being jumped for it is perhaps the Third Rate Lineship, with Second and First rates being only used for clan combat. Fourth Rate Lineships would be upscaled frigates, having a slightly bigger armament and more armour, but still have a clear speed advantage.
Personally I think we players should be allowed as an individual to purchase one ship that will essentially act as a home base which would have access to any crafting or cooking tables and have a high amount of deckhands and quartermasters(some would be like enizor and provide much utility by being blacksmiths and such). It should be enough for us to go anywhere in the war seas and even the insanity five void zone of the dark seas and deter most npc threats and be able to battle the biggest legendary ships.
Easy answer: 10 small gunpowder barrels artifact Since 1 small gunpowder barrel gave 10% of not consume any cannonball when fire cannon so 10 of em is pretty much 100%@@verynormalperson7003
maybe the new combat would be making it so that your crew actually helps fight the enemy crew instead of standing still as you get demolished by a warrior/berserker pirate
Well, as someone who plays Conqueror's Blade (medieval 3rd person combat game that i really recomend (its free)), there are quite a lot of different types of siege weapons (cause the slot for the mortar actually says "siege weapon slot", so something like a Hwacha Arrow Launcher (kinda like an automatic fire arrow launcher, google it), a balista or a scorpio could be added with the frigate (and baybe not be frigate exclusive sinse all of these are siege weapons). 🤔🤔
it would be cool to see a corvus as a boat weapon, the romans used it on their ships and its a ram that stops the enemy's ship and impales it with a bridge that lets you cross boats and engage in combat on the enemy's ship
The would be a ship bigger than the frigate which is the galleon which is lvl 250 and i prob bigger than frigate and at lvl 350 is ship of the line, image if it was bigger than the galleon...
For another kind of weapon, can I share the possibility of the addition of War Rockets? They were used around the Napoleonic Era, and were basically blazing fireworks of death. Look them up if you want, since I don't want to fully explain them here.
Honestly greek fire seems like a more likely option or the big harpoons now that we have seen them in nimbus sea. Maybe even the corvus used by the romans to board enemy ships(deck hands and crew fighting with you would be awesome)
Here's some naval information for ya'll if you wanna read into it (I love naval things so ignore if you don't wanna know, tis fine) Well, technically the brig we have in game is a perfect representation of a normal frigate, with heavy frigates being slightly longer by the keel to house more cannons per broadside in a single row. So then you have a frigate upcoming in the game, by that it'll probably represent the model after the ideals of a heavy frigate or a ship-of-the-line (or you can all that a Man-o-War). If you're curious why I state that, try searching up "USS Constitution" and then look at what the ship classification is (It will say "Heavy Frigate", and heavy frigates carried roughly 22-24 cannons per side, 10-12 more than the brig that we have in-game, feel free to confirm it for yourselves). Ship-of-the-Line in comparison is quite literally just an old-style wooden battleship, almost 5 full rows of cannons per side (roughly a broadside weight of around 45-60 cannonballs) and probably an uncountable amount of smaller weaponry attachments on the exposed main deck (such as swivels and of course siege weapons) as well. The only ship I can think of within the game line that would be bigger than this would probably be something hilariously and extraneously gigantic like the Borealis merchant shipwreck from old AA, and I get the feeling that that would just overload the game with the amount of detail we can get in AO when comparing to AA.
they should give it a weather control machine which summons a lighting cloud on mouse cursor like the one from red alert 2. so yeah lighting strike on command
what about the galleon, i remember seeing it in ship ideas and its a classic ship, exists in almost every pirate/sailing game i know also ships of the line which look hugeee
i at least want them to add the galleon, as ship of the line, with how it was used, would make no sense, but if they add the galleon as the last big ship, then it would be cool to see smaller ships that have specific uses like others have said, or maybe some original designs from the player base would be cool, along with some things like 'ironclads' though that would probably be specifically for a armor you put on it/a unique, per ship armor
Frigates aren't all that big.... if you want a massive ship, a Man of War or a ship-of-the-line are the ones that are monsterous in terms of size and firepower.
my geuss is multipul types of cannons i also hope its the last big ship. the brig already sucks to fight against. when it was added one brig took out my group. we had 2 ketch's and a caravel. we dident even get it below half health.
If anyone here has played assassins creed black flag Frigate could have the explosive barrel mines that you drop behind you, tbh idk if they are already in the game I haven’t played in like 4 months I can’t remember anything
A frigate and galleon ship are not all that much different in terms of size, just built differently and have a different design and layout, but a ship-of-the-line? yes those are massive, usually having two to three decks of cannons.
Frigate is being misunderstood by the community. First of all; friagte is not new, it has existed in the first game. Second of all; a frigate isn't all that big, a bit bigger then a brigantine sure, but nothing massive, the real behemoths were ship-of-the-line and Man of War ships, which had more then one deck of cannons, with Man of War sometimes having two, and ship-of-the-line having two or three.
maybe they'll update ship combat by actually upgradable crews, and allow crews and deckhands to fight enemy crews and deckhands. You could give them armor or weapons to use.
Chances are if it’s clan leader only, it would be the clan flag ship the trello mentioned. (As someone who is basically the naval operation leader in my clan. I can’t wait to be handed the keys for that beast) but I hope for the frigate there won’t be a clan leader or something limitation besides hyper expensive but reasonable price because we don’t need another super powerful thing casuals can’t access easily.(mid example of such are sunkens and formerly exotic scrolls since casual players probably won’t be sitting and fishing for hours or running deep into the dark sea and back). Tho if my fears are confirmed then he should atleast give casual players an ship type that specs in bullying large bulky ram less ships like the frigate(would also make clan war naval combat interesting as strategy would be involved)
