I just wanted to say too whoever owns this car it is AWESOME!! I watch this video a lot and it gives me inspiration to build up my VW. I love the video, especially the parts that show you on the track. I like how you put in it some of the work that went into building the car, and how it was done by a couple of good friends. Just working out of a garage
Just wanted you to know that i watch this video a lot because it gives me inspiration to build my Volkswagen. AWESOME video and thank you for sharing it
What I like about videos like this is...the effort, the desire, and the talent to do it. Most people who criticise spend their lives dreaming on the sofa.. convincing themselves that their lives are interesting. People like this are doing it for real.. It's a Golf, it blows up blah blah.. Still doing it boys...I respect that.
39 disklikes... WTF cares!! Having fun m8!? Carry on... You got my vote! Loved your video watched every second of it. Can't wait to have this kind of fun soon!
Anders Kristensen Yes, I am fully aware that this is a much more powerful car than it was as it rolled out of the factory. I was just joking about not wanting to stop using all that power. I agree that running stock brakes on a +400HP car is insane, but I would have to assume that when you're pouring every one of your hard earn cents (or in his case, euros) into getting as much power per unit of money spent, little things like brakes tend to get put on the back burner. Then again, if all you're doing is some friendly street racing and don't drag race or road race especially often, maybe it makes a little more sense. But yeah, you wouldn't catch me dead in a car this powerful with stock brakes.
Tom McKenna To be fair we don't know what pads/rotors he's using. The stock golf calipers aren't to be sneezed at, it's more about how fast you're going than how much power the car makes and you can get some nice top speeds in a stock VR6...
***** I agree with that, but the way I see it...a +400HP FWD car becomes more useful the faster your going (i.e. when launching isn't your main concern). I don't doubt that the stock Golf has decent brakes, after all, VWs are engineered in the same country the Autobahn is located in, but a stock Golf also has about half the power. I think it's probably safe to say that he's disabled the stock top speed limiter as well, which means he's surely capable of well over 155 MPH. I'm just saying, if it were my car and I was planning on frequently visiting speeds over ~130 MPH, I'd be looking at some upgraded brakes. By you're right - we obviously don't know if his pads or rotors or stock, so he might be on top of it.
I'm looking at getting a 1995 VW golf. I love all VW except the newer jettas, and newer beetles, I just love classic cars. I'm not big on new things haha
Holy shit, you caught me off guard. I see you guys putting a VR6 in and I'm like... its gonna be fast but not really fast then I see it spin through 5th and I'm like WHAT THE FUCK? That thing is QUICK.
8v-of-fury No flames, just sweet smelling smoke. if it was oil it would be dark and smoke would blacken the windshield. Just a highpressure coolant line exploding and then the waterpump just pumps all the coolant out the broken hose and onto the hot ass engine block.
I own and love my Vw mk3 jetta 2.0l. Is not fast, but you can beat the snot out of it. I use to own a vr6 turbo jetta but got rid of it cause VR are really a pain in the butt to work on. And they don't hold up to abuse well. I personally know, blew through 2 vr6 engines.
Hi. I like your video tutorial. I am personally proud owner golf 3 gti 1.8 16v. I know it's not like a vr6 but still I was amazed when I noticed how much love you had to match that baby every good luck. I hope there will be another video tutorial. :D
How much time and money you put into this beast? I wanna swap out the 2.0l engine I have in my MK3 Jetta for a VR6, what do you recommend? Where to start?
Looking forward to the MKVII Golf R I'll be getting later this summer. Stage II APR tune will have it at a tick over 400hp. Already bought the vanity plate for it. =) MKVII R
That car needs restraining!:') well done, a lot of time, effort and money gone into a build like this, never underestimate a car by it's looks or age haha, nice one
thats why buggati veyron has 6 radiators and is butt shit in corners , and why u need to have a mechanic shop to drive one of these , cuz it will break down after every race. Still great job and car, takes a lot of work and knowledge to tun that baby and u need to put 2 hours of work in to get 1 hour of driving. so u must respect that. big up man
Akron Euro Car Hi Akron as i can see you know lot about car engines and specially about volkswagen, maybe you can help me... i have a stock 150 hp golf gti IV and i want to tune it a bit, by the moment i buy a forge smic intercooler, and i not too much time i will make a repro, as i know with the repro and stock engine i must have around 180-190 hp and if i make it with the intercooler mounted maybe 200-210, could you tell me about something i can mount before making the repro? obviously i don't want to spend too much money, with 220-240 cv i will have enough
Santiago Sánchez Urquijo i dont know much about car engines but i know mechanics , so u will have problems if u push the engine over its designed power, that means before u increase power u need to do some work on the engine it self, like pistons and everything around that, cuz more power will likely damage the engine if it is not reworked for higher power, But if it is not a lot more power, u might be able to avoid it but then the power is what u are aiming at so i think u are best buying a stronger engine and transmission, if it is alot more power , the ull need an overall too
Hi pavle, i know that your engine life decreases if you push it, but as i know this engine with almost the same configuration haves 180, so i think push my engine almost until the 200-210 if i don't drive like a mad must not have problems, i usually use it in a normal way, but sometimes i want go driving some hills and obviously i prefer to drive it climbing as in my opinion is harder to get out of the way and with 150 hp 210nm is hard to make it fast because of the climbs, so having 200 hp and 290 nm will solve my problem, i just want to mantain it 5 years i and i go to hills 1 or 2 times in 2 months... so maybe not much more pieces but the intercooler, full exhaust and some plugs overload with a repro will give me that hp without pushing too much the car, so as i said the original golf and de audi tt have the same engine, 180 / 210 cv and both models have small changes comparated with mine, some inyection, exhaust, electronics... but cylinders and the engine block ( sorry i'm from Spain) i mean the valves, and the inner pieces of the engine are same only external pieces, so i can think this engine have been built in the same way for all of them with lot of resistance, in a enterprise context have sense to built the same engines prepared for having until 220 cv and then just mount it with diferent turbos, inyection, exhaust, electronics.... thanks for the advise
Santiago Sánchez Urquijo it might be true , they might have used same engine blocks for different amounts of power, sounds logical, its mass production.. its not a lot more power 150-200 its the same thing, maybe u can pull it off. I know what u are aiming at, if i could squeeze extra power out of my engine i would, but i always end up telling my friends there is no stronger engine without burning more fuel, so be prepared to pay extra 25 percent on fuel, maybe extra 10 percent on oil and maintenance, other then that maybe ur engine can do it, its a german engine they are known to be reliable , i have one in my audi b4 150hp 12v 2.0, i know that engine can do 200hp, maybe ur can too, but how much u will have to pay for it i dont know , ask ur car mechanics is it possible and at what cost. Im not from spain im from serbia and there is online mechanics here, for 10euros a year u can get advice from expirienced mechanic online, maybe there are such services in spain too , there must be, maybe u can do that for a start
In many twin turbo systems the first turbo is usually for low to mid range power, the second is to give high rev band power. I am guessing this is how his set-up works.
actually no, i meant two turbos in a fashion that one is for three cylinders and the other is for the other three cylinders so it would be two identical turbos each smaller than a single that would be used
a single turbo would be easier to replace as well as can flow more with a quicker spool up time as shown by many supras and single turbod b5 s4's as well as 034's turbo vr6 b5 a4
i still watch this video from time to time. been like 10 years ago first time :)
I just wanted to say too whoever owns this car it is AWESOME!! I watch this video a lot and it gives me inspiration to build up my VW. Awesome to see u coming back to the video overtime I hope your build is crazy now

This video is legendary for me. I still come back to watch it
The Integration of the Turbos is nice and compact. Good work
this is like one of the FEW if not maybe the only car video ive seem where the music goes with it and its not extremely loud. good vid!

Sweet Track for the video and some impressive work. Keep it up!
those firefighters came pretty fast xD
My compliments! I really like nasty little cars like yours. It is so much fun to surprise people!
That's what it's all about, the look on the guys face when he is driving his car.
He can't decide with the "OH FUCK" or "YEAH" face 2:40-3:00 lol.
the rise against made me smile... and the car made me grin like a madman :D
1:23 Stock MK3 VR6 brakes, u wot m8?
Bro, who wants to stop when you can go as fast as this car can take you? :)
Tom McKenna FYI, the car has 170hp stock. This has more than 3 times that. Running stock brakes is nuts, but to each his own.
Anders Kristensen Yes, I am fully aware that this is a much more powerful car than it was as it rolled out of the factory. I was just joking about not wanting to stop using all that power. Some of the new volvos are pretty cool. especialy the new polestar ones. I'd rather keep to an older volvo960 or a corrado tho.
VR6 this is it , nice video, like your passion
Nice video, nice car and nice guys. Greetings from Germany!
nice work, but why 5 doors instead of 3? :/
Holy shit, you caught me off guard. I see you guys putting a VR6 in and I'm like... its gonna be fast but not really fast then I see it spin through 5th and I'm like WHAT THE FUCK? That thing is QUICK.
love the shop you guys work it!!!
The film is stolen, he who posted it now can't even afford a home.
great vid man what happened in 4:20? coolant leak?
Coolant doesn't usually burst in to flames lol.
8v-of-fury No flames, just sweet smelling smoke. if it was oil it would be dark and smoke would blacken the windshield. Just a highpressure coolant line exploding and then the waterpump just pumps all the coolant out the broken hose and onto the hot ass engine block.
I swear I saw flames when I posted the first time.. lol
You can hear the kind of abuse the clutch takes, no wonder you had to replace it
+GoneFeraL Explain me please what he did wrong?
muy lindo
y la acompañante tambien

did you had to cut and weld to fitt the new engine and gearbox ? what where you cutting in the cnc maschine ? how many hp did it have ?
looked like a flywheel
Holy shit almost every gear he broke traction JESUS
where's the video?, i saw it in yesterday.... please post it again
Hi. I like your video tutorial. I am personally proud owner golf 3 gti 1.8 16v. I know it's not like a vr6 but still I was amazed when I noticed how much love you had to match that baby every good luck. I hope there will be another video tutorial. :D
2:28 So THIS is what he's been up to since Wristcutters...
This is dreams, but in a R32
still love it 😍😍😍
How much time and money you put into this beast? I wanna swap out the 2.0l engine I have in my MK3 Jetta for a VR6, what do you recommend? Where to start?
i have no clue but this build is deff not cheap. his turbos could be $2000 each
I prefer VTEC plus Turbo or only naturally aspirated VTEC
This is so my favorite video about VR6! I have one too. ;)
Best part 0:31-0:37 amazing burn out

Would 4Motion gear weigh you down too much. It looks like you're having traction issues (in every gear). ;)
Nice build
why twin instead of a bigger single?
less lag?
would be to much brutal for a traction car .
