Just graduated with my degree in business admin with a concentration in MIS. I’m making $160k this year but I worked all throughout college. Work experience matters a lot more than people realize.

It depends on what kind of business you’re in too. If you’re in a business that thrived in the era of free money, a 160k salary will start looking like a large obligation to cut off from a balance sheet to keep profits up. Be cautious and look for red flags for layoffs.

You won't make 58,000 starting right out of college with a 4 year business degree. More like 40-45000 unless you go into business for yourself and your successful. Even though you have the 4 year business degree the employer will say that you Don't have enough experience to be a manager. You have to work your way up in business.

Everyone knows just pick the degree in a field no one wants to work in (and probably for good reason)

This is misleading there aren't any mid 20 year old. Making 58k people in their late 40s only start to make 65k a year they're talking like money is falling out of the sky. Even lawyers & doctors don't make six-figure starting out.

I graduated with a bachelor in computer science and i am working as a software engineer.
I made like 70k first year. 85k the 2nd year. 3rd year I hop jobs because my company was cheap and wouldn't do more raises. Got a 130k salary plus 10k singing bonus plus another 10k of vested equities per year on top by switching to another company.
Overall, my degree more than pays for itself. It also helps I went to an instate school and in state tuition grants plus federal grants pretty much knock out all the tuition. Graudated debt free. Class of 2020. It is awesome to be making 6 figures+ in my mid 20s. Although to be frank, if I had gone to a trade school, I probably could made similar amount after 5 years of so as an union electrician or better yet open my own business.
You may think it is unbelievable but 6 figoures income straight out of school is common if you work in tech or finance because these are usually jobs located in very high cost of living areas like new york city or san francisco. Many of my peers who studied worthless garbage like English wasn't so lucky and usually make in the mid 5 figures starting out.

@@haveaniceday7950 i am working hybrid now, my first job was completely remote, i live in seattle. school is suny stony brook, i suggest you do 2 year cc who has partnership with a 4 year public university and then transfer over after you got your associate, do two more years and get your bachelor. also, be willing to relocate. you wont get 6 figures plus by working in middle of nowhere nebraska as a new grad.
it is very competitive to get accepetd into a computer science major outright, for my school at least. community college is much more efficient imo if it has partnership with the university you want to attend.
In new york state, all public universities are tuition free. just go apply for the excelsior scholarship.
