im performing for act 5 and we leave suntec at 6:40 plus for the padang. We messed up the first dry run and kinda ruined formation 3 which is the supertree formation (sry for spoilers)
Imagine having to wake up early in the morning just to do BOS and then spend the whole day driving the AFVs to the location, just to do a drive past and spending the night driving back to the holding area and finishing late bc of AOS. Then imagine doing this every week until NDP and afterwards low-loading them back to battalion at 4am and finish at 5am bc of another round of AOS. Afterwards, imagine having to spend the next 5 days or so doing other servicings (washing vehicles/changing track pads) etc. Just for this one parade. Getting called up to do SAFDP is nothing compared to this...
@@Weiming161998 Yeah I understand. During my time for NDP, we were made to man packed 120mm mortars and marched. It was quite torturous. We practiced in camps and later at the stadium for review. Luckily the stupid idea was scrapped.
@@Weiming161998 It was long long time ago. CO was a scholar. He is now holding an important VIP role in public sector. I was in charge of carrying the barrel as I was tall. Some handled the baseplate which made them looked like a tortoise. The tripod holder was the the lightest but they got awkward painful points. It was a painful memory.

Wonder how all the guys inside all types of vehicle feels during drive past. Feeling being forced to do it unwillingly ? Or feeling excited and passionate about doing it.
It's a lot tiring actually. You have a lot of rules to follow when in uniform in public. Which is why many of those men onboard the tanks don't wave or smile back even when someone does. Only if someone salute them, then it's a courtesy to return a salute back. Don't forget the rehearsals starts a lot earlier than what is shown here. You need to clean the vehicles too for the public viewing.
I m fully agreed with you. They are from Navy n Airforce guards of honour contigents. It seems very irony for them to instil with ill-discipline the way they marched sloppily in public view . Their WOs have to put to task. Guards of disgrace.
@@SuccessforLifester unfortunately the guard of honour group from 4:30 - 4:48 are from naval diving unit, so not really "strike lottery" kind of posting but your observation still stands, they should at least walked in steps (even more so since they are from elite vocation)
I dislike the official marching. they're like civilian walking in the street. in military training the civilian characteristic must be remove and change into military characteristics
