The easiest way I do it is in Whiterun, drop stuff right in front of Warmaidens. Btw, you can drop the stuff, have your follower pick it up, then take it back and drop it again, rinse and repeat, and then fast travel to the whiterun stables and walk back up through the gate. You can actually dupe more copies than you dropped by dropping them repeatedly. I dropped 20 filled grand soul gems three times over and got 37 when I came back through the gate. For some reason i cant get it to work on the jagged crown, but perhaps that's because I already enchanted it. Then again, it works on Daedric stuff too, so I don't know why it hasn't worked on the crown for me yet.
This works so well Faendal in Riverwood, I tell him to wait, drop items (one by one) in front of him, tell him to pick them up and then to the Guardian stones and back again. He has the items in his inventory and they're on the floor in front of him.

I'm dropping the items, having my follower pick them up, then I fast travel somewhere with my follower, save my game, reload my save and travel back to where the items are and they are there.

no. if your having trouble with the glitch try using the overcumberd glitch more while clearing camps and dungeons then after a while back track where you did it and see if any items reappeared once you see items reappear the glitch is active and works for your game
definitely an interesting dupe glitch, nothing like oblivions lol now if only i can find a way to get particular armor to show up that'd be nice, looking at you vampire hood. :(
try saving when you go into the cave and then loading your save and going back out after that... if that doent work try different locations in citys and also try fast travel
Best place to do this is whiterun at the gate to leave town. Do it outside town and have her wait there then drop the items then have her pick them up. Then go in to town and back out pick them up then back in and back out.
dont know for sure but it should work on both... try different areas and items. also try saving after you do the load scene then load the save then go back to the area
u can do this outsidenyour house in lake wood and u only need the follower to pick up the first set and your character can go in qnd the go to stuff on the ground and pick it up then go in house again and go out to pick stuf up again and works after new patch

The arrow you couldn't pick up CAN be picked up by lydia through ally interact. Also, I cannot seem to get this to work for me. I have tried breezehome, and the home in Riften. I do not have Dragon born or anyother DLC. I also don't have the patch, could it still work for me? Also can this be done with nighting-gale armor?
so all you have to do is drop it in sets of ones? then make your partner pick it up then exit the area come back and it should all still be there before your follower picked it up?
You can delete the patch, just delete the title update then clear system cache but if you do this you will have to start a new game but you can also do the oghma infinium glitch

I've tried with Annekke and Lydia at Proudspire Manor (inside and out), Breezehome, Deepwood Redoubt (several times), Raven Rock and the Telvani Tree with both unique and common vanilla and Dragonborn items. About 10 items at a time.. Drop items, direct follower to pick up items, then change cells (enter a door or fast travel), then re-enter the first cell and I find nothing. Tried saving/loading too. All I got was everything marked 'stolen'. :(
yes it should be the same cord that you use from your computer to your router. the cord is called a "ethernet cord" it the ends are both the same and they look like big telephone cords (house phone ones not cell phones)
@Aedyn Johnson Drop one of the item you want to dupe, have you follower pick it up, go into the place you're near, go back out, and if done correctly, you should have it outside.
It never worked for me, I have hearthfire and dragonborn idk if that effects it but I dropped all my stuff I wanted to duplicate and had her pick them all up and wait then I went into the dungeon and right back out and there was nothing there.

I've looked at a couple duping videos with this method & both videos contained a dlc. And I've tried methods from both videos but it has yet to be accomplished. I've come to the conclusion that this glitch only works with a dlc downloaded.
I've got a kettle full of dawnbreakers at home lol and 13 Black stars so that i dont even bother with soul gems anymore. Btw, thats on ps3, in case no one else had already confirmed it.

After the items are duplicated, well, some, might appear, ''stolen'', if, you know what I mean. And, some duplicated weapons, well, the might even remain, ''stolen'', even after, that thing that one does in stores, to make the items to not appear ''stolen'' anymore. Drop the duplicated weapon that appears like ''this'', and have an enemy NPC to pick it up. Use the shout to Disarm him until he has no weapons in hand. And, well, Voila ! Your weapon, in the floor, will not appear stolen anymore...

THIS IS FOR PS3 USERS AS I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS WORKS OR NOT FOR THE XBOX: Make your follower wait outside the location where you wan't to do the dupe. After that, drop all the items that you wan't to dupe in sets of one, like in the video. Make your follower pick up all of the items laying around on the ground. After that, make sure that your follower stay outside, and then go inside the location. When inside, save your game, then load up the file you just saved. When your fresh save has been loaded up, go outside, and you should find that all of the items are laying on the ground again, and that your follower has them in his/hers inventory as well. This is the way i made it work on my ps3, good luck. ( note that clicking/talking on/to your follower while making him/her pick up the stuff, can cause this glitch to not work fully (some of the items may not get duped))
I did it about 15 times and came back like after 2-3 weeks ingame and it doesn't work :C PS: there are dead bodies outside, could they cause the glitch to misfunction?

Ok quick update, I was ale to replicate this glitch by dropping items inside my house in solitude instead of outside and now it works like a charm!
It's quite likely the Dragonborn DLC is required for this glitch or at least the 1.8 patch. It's a very new glitch and certainly didn't occur before.

Works on ps3! Just go to white run go into breezehome then leave go to the farm then fast travel back
um try saving when you leave the area the load that save and go back to that area sometimes that helps...
You are right. Mannequins glitch only freezes the game. I will send word if I was able to duplicate Miraak's robes...

Works for me with Ingredients for potions. However I tried it with Armor and weapons, that did not work for me.
When you tell ur follower to pick up ur things, will they have it in their inventory, for you to keep taking it out
quest items cannot be dropped your best bet is duping the ohgma infinium and getting lockpicking 100 so u have unlimited picks

no... try different locations, fast traving, and saving and loading the save when you go through the door

it doesn't work if your follower equips the item that your trying to duplicate

well it didnt freeze on me but it only dupped the mask and gloves

it works wow. however, for me, when i dropped an improved weapon on the ground, the one i get back from my follower is no longer improved.
