was planned to be at 121,000 but the Front Office of the big 10 told the Admin to keep the seating below the UMmers Stadium so they can continue to ONLY highlight Micheatagain and anOSU.
The things you read off are only the first phase of the renovation. They’re totally changing the west side of the stadium. The image they’re showing of the new exterior is the west side of the stadium which is completely getting overhauled.
The west side is long overdue an upgrade. It's possible to dismantle and reassemble a new structure in 9 months. Texas A&M did it to Kyle Field. It's really quite remarkable what they were able to accomplish in such a short time.
and WHY don't they build PERMANENT restroom facilities throughout the parking areas instead of those DISGUSTING port-potties?!?!? The parking areas are used throughout the year for numerous other events and festivals. It will not cost that much to build those restrooms and save the money on portable disease stink houses!
Its not quite cold enough in November to freeze the pipes. They have to drain and turn off the water during the much colder months to follow. So November is cold but not to the extreme that the water has to be shut off
Has the school developed any construction plans beyond a couple renderings? I watched another podcast where they interviewed someone who went to the meetings. He said all the school has are a couple of computer generated renderings taht are labeled for illustrative purposes only but the money was approved anyway. I guess 200 million is to bring the stadium uo to code, 200 million to remodel bathrooms, widen corridors and make access easier. The last 200 million is for new luxury boxes and premium seats. But the school really has no idea what they are doing.
And the Club Level section, which is essentially closed year round except during games, will now be monetized in the form of an exclusive, members only dining experience club. Members will pay a fee and be able to eat in a new restaurant in the Club level atrium at Beaver Stadium, along with being able to eat at any other Big Ten stadium in the off season.
My hope is that we're going to make the stadium more of an integrated whole. I think they're putting on a new exterior because they're going to rework the concessions and concourses. Right now, the north and south end zones aren't really connected to the rest of the stadium. The seats are connected but they basically have their own separate rest rooms and concessions.
Once again, dude really needs to do more research. I was able to find the answers asked in this video just by doing surface-level research. Basically everything he’s criticizing actually makes sense.

They want this to be the biggest mutli-purpose facility between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia for NFL, NHL, concerts, World Cup and soccer events, talks of having wrestling match this year as well
They spent 70 million on winterizing the stadium this off-season and the 2017 model release to my understanding has been scrapped. The same people that did the Texas AM renovation is doing this one.
NO red brick on Beaver Stadium.....or I will label it anOSU Stadium East!!! ONLY BLUE glass and WHITE stonework, with gray and/or silver steel frameworks allowed
2:08 According to NCAA, there is certain standards and requirements to host a playoff game and the stadium has to meet those requirements in order to pass inspection from the NCAA, if the stadium was not meet the requirements, Penn State would not be able to host a playoff game. Home field advantage obviously holds a huge advantage for winning a game
The winterization is already happening. They essentially kept the pipes at a trickle through November and the ground doesn’t really freeze there until December. Grew up there. Should have been a bare bones at $300 million Reno with an understanding that you get a new stadium in 2040 when college football is much more stable.
Does this stadium have luxury boxes and club seats? Seems like that's the trend these days adding more premium amenities and seating rather than trying to have the highest capacity,
They've been trying to add more suits (and closer to the field) for many years. The suits are at the very top of the stadium. It's a very old stadium with a lot of nostalgia so there has been tremendous pushback to tear it down
The biggest topic as to why Penn State needs to winterize Beaver Stadium is that it failed to meet codes to host a CFP game by the NCAA...if CFP had the format within the last 8-10 years, Penn State would've made the playoffs at least 80% of the last 8-10 years by the end of regular season ranking...its more than likely Penn State will be in the playoffs by historical data if it continues its trajectory, Soooo....if Penn State would like to host, these winterization renovations are required to be completed by the beginning of 2024 season, they are proceeded to Phase 2 after the approval spending the the rest of the approx. $700 million for the press box, expanded concourses throughout the stadium, more concessions, more restrooms, lodge, box, and founders suites as well below the press box...yes, most of the construction will be on the West side but all of Beaver Stadium will be renovated as planned...there is no offical rendering or plans yet which confuses me, Im hopeful that will be announced within this year.
I have been to worst weather games in October than November. Like October 22, 2016, versus the Poison Chestnuts!! But there was still plenty of snow left to throw snowballs at the UMmers! LOL FREEZING COLD but still FUN TIMES!!
The level of ignorance in this video is confounding. Dude, if you don't understand construction, please just don't comment. I'd like to see what 700 million buys for a clean build.... the Bills stadium with no roof is up from 1.4 to something like 1.7 billion... not that I'm advocating that PA taxpayers in any way be on the hook for any part of such an expenditure

Got to renovate..how is the WOKE crowd going to put up with the cold weather in December. Well..they can pay for it...the 700M cost is double what is should cost.
