I think it looks good , don't have stupid looking splitter sticking out in front of it , but it will look much better with 18 on the door taking checkered flag about ten times this year .

@@Glitchy93 you're thinking of Cars 3's idea of gen 8. Gen 7 are lightning's friends that retire.
In a world being dominated more and more by downsizing, it is trully wonderful knowing that the next gen NASCAR's will still have a good Old V8 roaring along the racetrack!

I don’t think nascars will ever look like storm, would ruin so much of the heart of the stock car design.

The car sounds badass, I would like to see Dodge returning back to NASCAR cup racing, and let them Dodges be fielded by Richard Petty Motorsports!!! Man, that'll be the '70's Mopar domination all over again!!!
Nascar needs to build about 4 of them and test them in a pack to see if they can pass without the aroepush that kills passing
The middle of the spiltter being raised and the reduction of sideforce should greatly help with aero push
I just wish 750 HP came back. Hearing those cars scream into Turn's 3 and 4 at Charlotte at 200 MPH is a sight to behold.
This car will define if NASCAR will be good later this decade

If NASCAR wants to be good they could do away with playoff bullshit any of those gimmicks and go back to a straight up points race then NASCAR will be great no matter what they drive

Can you imagine the sound of 35-40 of those engines all at once. Lots of guys will be seeing their doctor on the way home from that race.

The car sounds badass, I definitely have high hopes for it in the years to come.
This looks like and sounds like the early 90s Trans Am cars.
Tom Kendall and the Allaport TA
Some minor differences i noticed, or may have not seen before
- The rear diffuser is much less protrusive, meaning it sticks out less
-The color of the wheels is slightly darker, and there are more spokes
- The front seems to have bigger vents/grille, possibly
- I think they tested a big spoiler and small spoiler
-Seems to be braking significantly later going into final chicane, i noticed. Later braking will probably come into bigger play once this car rolls out, so that will be interesting to see who can do that the best
-Slightly better lap times a believe.
-Smoother and faster shifts of course (Sequential gearbox)
-Sounds a bit more akin to actual stock muscle cars than Gen 6, but it might be a bit quieter. I might find some footage and compare.

Looks like a mix between all the modern sports cars. Charger/mustang/camero
It's currently just a generic body. It's not meant to represent one specific manufacture.
It is going to be something like a v8 super car, not the looks but the racing

Cars 3 really got it right. Jimmy retired, young boy Chase won a championship (that’s not a bad thing though), and now this thing. Crazy. We’ll see where it goes from here 🚙🏁
I can't wait to see these cars on the track next season. They look and sound great. The drivers that tested them apparently said they were awesome to drive.

Sounds amazing, this OG V8 storming the whole track! Also, i'd love to see NASCAR schedule Focus a bit more in mixed circuits, take a few more breaks from ovals (maybe that's just me)

Gotta say. I LOVE the sound of this thing! I love deep, throaty growling engines. And that sound right there is what I call a Lonely Island sound. Because I jizzed in my pants hearing it.

They are running 6 road courses in 2021. 7 if you count The Clash on the Daytona RC.

The reason for the raspy kind of sound is (IN MY OPINION I THINK) due to a dual side exit port exhaust, but not only that, the headers seem to be opened differently and the header tubing probably has different bends coming out of the engine, and that is the last reason, the engine might be a DOHC N/A V8 instead of a OHV or Pushrod V8. My friend has a mustang 5.0 and he did a header/cammed tune to it and straight piped it and it sounds really close to these new raspy sounding V8 nascar gen 7 cars. Usually DOHC engines let you rev higher too, so I mean they got the Pushrod engine back in 2014 to rev out at 9500 rpms so I'm not sure why they would switch to DOHC I'm assuming. Also Kurt Busch mentioned in an interview that this car is supposedly a hybrid too ???? That is out of my area of expertise so can't answer that. But as for my basic knowledge of car engines, it does not have that pushrod howl/deep American note. It has a DOHC raspy out of control *blahh* note. Still a great sound, very freaking loud due to high rpms, so hey who knows. Gotta wait until 2022 to check these bad boys out.

Engine sounds really good on this one.
If I've seen it right on the Thumbnail, the splitter is notched and its got some little flics on the outer edges. Maybe to channel airflow around the car to seal a possible Venturi Tunnel beneath it.
If I'm right, the cars aren't as nearly reliant on overbody down/sideforce like the COT or Gen6, making the cars even faster and easier to race each other wheel to wheel, eliminating the dirty air problem.
