- Just sharing some of my thoughts on the Tiggo 8 Pro 1.6T - owning and using it for the past 5 months. In this video I'll be sharing our needs in a car and things we wanted to have that made us choose the Tiggo 8 Pro. Also, will share some of the things that I still find amazing and things I've gotten used to as an owner of the Tiggo 8 Pro.
With so many features that it has, I'll share my thoughts on some of them that needs improvements in my opinion. As well as how I feel about things that it doesn't have.

The fact that Chery is in a trifecta with Jaguar and Land Rover should speak for itself in terms of quality.

Chery makes all Land Rovers & Jag SUVs in China & sold all over Asia
I am sure if you put the car in park, you can program the auto locks to unlock & therefore only 1 pull from door handle is required
Thank you very much for all your great videos about the car. I just bought one, after visiting my citroen dealer who just changed to Chery here in Turkey! I NEVER heard of the brand, never saw the car, but was so impressed that I instantly bought it and now i am waiting for it to arrive in two weeks. It is the first time I buy a brand new car, had all sorts like BMW, Porsche, really a lot but this is the first new ever. And absolutely it is an amazing buy and I hope it delivers. Your video's have been a great help and make the car even more amazing. Unbelievable that there are so many features on this car for that price. Although here in Turkey it is about 2x as much as what you buy it for ($ 55000) there but that is with every car here because of the high taxes.

Hi Don... l must compliment u on an excellent review🎉I'm driving a Ford Ranger, with DRL's doing the same, so l enquired about it, and l was informed the reason 4 the auto switching off/dimming DRL's... was 2 make the indicator light more visible to other drivers😊
I have never seen a better interpretation of the DRLs hahahahaha subbed just because of this xD

Auto Sensing is a great feature. It just doesn't lock the car for you, it'll also automatically close any open windows or its panoramic roof or cover. Love it.

hello, did you mention the fuel consumption? I watched the video in parts. How many liters of fuel does it consume per 100km? inner city or out of town?

As for fuel economy, I can't really say anything solid yet as I'm often idle creating videos with AC turned ON😅. My fuel consumption readings aren't indicative of real world scenarios. Since I'm doing less videos for this car, I'm currently using it normally as one would and will be posting soon as I have some numbers. @@NotAProDrayber ok thanks. Chery and Haval recently rejoined the South African market, they have disrupted the market. We generally go for German and Japanese cars but Chinese cars becoming more and more in the country. The issue we currently have is that the fuel consumption of the Chinese cars is really high compared to their German & Japanese counterparts. Chery is offering 1 000 000km warranty on the engine for the first owner of the car, hoping it’s the same in your country.
Hi Phakiso Tsotetsi👋. If I'm not mistaken here in the Philippines this Tiggo 8 Pro comes with 7yr general warranty and engine, 3yr free PMS and 3yr Roadside assistance. Really don't know yet how that'll equate to km🤔. Personally I'm not worried about the distance traveled since we use the car twice per week on a regular basis and I haven't reached 5000 kms yet😅.
What, in your experience is/are the disappointments if you have, on this cherry tiggo?

On the turn signals, maybe it is for safety purposes so other motorists or pedestrians can clearly see your indicators/hazard lights activated. I think in some way that the very bright DRL's may potentially mask the turn signal's effective illumination. That's what I think.
Hi ASR👋 This is a very nice insight👍 I never thought of it that way.🫡 I was looking at it from a visual perspective while you were on the functional aspect. I do think you're correct 💯because the DRLs are brighter than when they're on Park light mode (where they don't turn off when you turn on the signals).👍 Thank you, thank you so much for sharing this🙇♂️
All European cars are the same, its for safety, makes the turn signal stand out

Hi Alain👋 You're very welcome👍 Unfortunately we don't have the default voice controls here for the 1.6T variant shipped here in the Philippines😅. I've published a video before about CarPlay and Android Auto where it briefly shows how the voice assistant (Siri and Google assistant) works th-cam.com/video/MNUV5x7PVGo/w-d-xo.html. As well as using the audio buttons to access the voice assistant for CarPlay th-cam.com/video/WTr3KHrGW58/w-d-xo.html. I hope these are what you're looking for🙏.

What about engine and stability on long road with 180km/h
do you feel the seats getting cold when ventilated seats are on? Sa test drive i didn't feel anything. and what is your normal a/c settings? temp and blower?
Hi Sir Larry!👋 Yes, I can feel the seat getting cold but it does take some time before you can feel it getting cold.👍 Our A/C settings are usually set at 20-22 deg, fan speed is 2-3 when in manual mode. Hi Don, I saw your separate video on the car lights. I wonder, are the single LED front lights low and high Beam strong enough? Actually I drive a Mazda CX-5 model 2016 and it has double LED lights in the front and they are very strong.plus there are also LED fog lights who light up the lower part of the road very well. I hope the single LED lights on the 8 Pro are strong enough on very dark roads. Thanks for your comment. Greetings. Alain.
Hi again Alain👋 Good question👍 It looks like the headlights (even on low beam) is more than enough. I drove with the headlights tilted to the highest level and I was greeted with high beams from drivers on the opposite lane - in response I'd high beam as well🤞. I think they thought that I was on high beam by default😅.
I would suggest to get a lighter shade of tint though, mine came with the dealership as part of their freebies and got the medium on the windshield and dark on the rest. I should've went with the lightest on the windshield😞.
@@NotAProDrayber hi Don, thanks for your comment. Great to read your experience. About the tinted windows. I never take any tint on the windshield. I think it’s too dangerous in the night. Even it’s warm in the day when the sun it burning. I don’t care. In Europe it’s not even allowed. Only the back side windows and the back window can be tinted. Front side windows and windscreen must remain clear and original. As light green tint. All for safety reasons. A lot is different here . Hehe. Thanks again.
@@alainysebaert6204 you’re very welcome👍 I’m just saving a bit to replace the tint currently installed😅 I’m thinking of getting ceramic tint - from what I’ve seen so far from posts and ads it looks like the tint is nonexistent if not clearer than traditional tints. Its quite expensive😔.

The tiggo 8 pro in Indonesia has kind of bad smell when you turn on the AC, smells like vinegar. I suspect that's come from the brown seat and trim material. Does the unit in the Philippines has the same smell?

Hi @selaimutiara! 👋 Hmm, I never noticed any bad smell from our car when it was new. It had the "factory" smell, a bit of plastic and leather smell but didn't smell like vinegar.

Chery Indonesia bravely create a WhatsApp group consist of all tiggo customer in Indonesia, so we can directly engage with Chery. I have never has this kind of direct communication before. So they are serious to get piece of big pie in Indonesia's car market.

Hi Sir Ifti Araf!👋 Good question, one thing I did notice was having the car on idle quickly adds to making your AFE look bad.😫 Lately, I rarely have the car on idle.😅 Also whenever possible, use the ACC feature.👍 I'd like to believe the car knows better when it comes to hitting the gas at the right amount.🤔 Thanks so much for watching.🙇
Sir i would like to ask abou AC why it's turn on automatically from itself sometimes when i strat the engine on without pressing on in it ? Especially in cold weather!!!
Hi again Dr. AHMED👋 good observation👍 In my experience, the AC will be at its last state where you left it. For example, if I leave the AC ON and turn the engine OFF, the next time you start the engine, it will turn ON automatically. However, when I turn OFF the AC before I kill the engine and start the engine again, the AC will remain OFF until I turn it ON myself.
Maybe you can turn OFF the AC before killing the engine? So that when you start the engine it'll be OFF. I hope this helps🙏
Oh by the way, if you're mostly in cold weather you might want to remember the turn off the third row vents or turn off the rear button on the AC control unit😅. Thank you so much for watching sir🙇♂️

Hi Sir Charles!👋 I was looking at Toyota Fortuner then liked the Nissan Terra better because of its looks, however both cars didn't seem to appeal to me when looking at the models that we can afford.😢 Also was very interested with the Geely Okavango, but it wasn't the right fit for us.😅
