Excellent video……brought back great memories of my walk in the Spring. Porthleven to Lizard was one of my favourite legs. Kept awake at Lizard by the lighthouse, and just to make things worse, the sea mist descended at 4.00am which triggered the massive fog horns! Can’t wait for Day 25 😊
Thanks Malcolm. Mullion Cove to Lizard Point was one of my favourite parts. I would have liked to have heard the fog horn going off, maybe not at 4 in the morning though!
The weather and views look stunning. My memories of this bit are encountering a load of horses hurtling down a narrow path towards me and I had to leap through an electric fence to prevent being trampled underfoot 😊
Lovely video. Great views and good paths. You seem to have the same good weather as we had when we walked there in July. We split this section in two and stayed overnight in Mullion village. We also arrived at Kynance Cove at low tide, but we took some time to paddle in the beautiful turquoise water 😊 And we spotted some choughs on Predannack Head.👍🏻😊 Looking forward to watching more of your walks 😊👍🏻
I have been very fortunate with the weather on most of my walks to date. Kynance Cove was incredible, I will certainly go back there and spend some more time enjoying the water.
@@pilgrimpaul7798 We have also been very lucky with the weather. All the way (during 4 trips) from Westward Ho! to Falmouth, we have had only about 2 days with rain 🙂
Completed this section today. Kynance Cove WOW. Found the walking ok not too tricky apart for a few climbs from Mullion Cove. Shorter walk tomorrow only going as far as Coverack. Going to watch your vid to Porthallow for a few tips :)
The way you present this has the impact of making it seems within the realms of possibility to achieve. Impressive. Not to annoy you with yet another question ... but .... If you had the choice, with no holds barred and money was not an object (and your lovely wife was in suspended animation) would you choose to do it as a through walk all in one go?
It is hard at times but it is achievable. Anyone can walk the path but each person will need to do it in their own way, whether by doing smaller sections, not carrying as much, doing bag transfers, staying at B&Bs etc. I often think about if I would like to do it all at once. I think the physical and mental challenge of packing my kit every day and walking all day in all weathers would be a big challenge, but I also think I would like to attempt it. Maybe one day I will do the path again and do it all at once.
It takes money and restraint over what you take to get your pack weight down. I am around 12kg including water and camera, batteries, drone etc. my sleeping bag is nothing posh, it’s the Leviathan 900 down filled bag from Go Outdoors. It does lose feathers but it is so warm and comfortable. I use it all year and in the warmer months use it as a quilt.

This was one of my favourite walks Gary. Mullion to Lizard Point was especially nice. I’m not sure I could jump any fences with my pack on 😂
Was at Kynance Cove last week. So beautiful
That was my only time there and it was beautiful. I must go back and allow myself to enjoy it for a while.
Pilgrim Paul you are a legend!!!
😂 Thanks Adam.
Another good video Paul
Thanks 👍
Nice one Paul
When I walked this section I was thinking about when you walked to Kynance for one of your videos.
@@pilgrimpaul7798 nice that I was with in spirit mate. That campsite looked quirky 😂
Man the Lizard looks nice
It is one of my favourite sections so far.

I loved the walk out across the Lizard. Mullion was a pretty place and then obviously Kynance is beautiful. Are you camping on this trip?
@@pilgrimpaul7798 no mate air b&b although staying in a bell tent in the Coverack YHA this evening
Enjoying this section as it’s my next section to do. Not sure if I will get to it this year or wait til the apring
Ah I hope it has given you a taste of what’s to come. I would like to get a bit more done this year, but we are rapidly losing daylight hours.
@@pilgrimpaul7798 and it’s getting cold at night also
@@carletonlong3374 yes that’s true.

Great info Paul, it’s hard getting the base weight right, a heavy pack can ruin the experience! What sleeping bag did you use?
