Glad to see you back Paul. I gave it a "like" before starting the video as I was expecting your usual standard and you didn't disappoint. And a longer video than average... you're spoiling us! I could easily watch a longer format, though I appreciate it must take a long time to edit what you put out now. I would have loved to see you walk all the English coast, but as you've ruled that out, my vote would be for you to do the Tamara after this. We're in Cornwall next month and thought about doing some sections of the Tamara. We've been doing different sections of the Cornish path over the last 11-12 years and have completed about 90% of it, and we don't want it to end. The Tamara has now extended that, and then after that...I don't know, maybe we'll do a second lap! Or venture into Devon...
Yes I’m not sure how I managed to make such a long video on such an unattractive section! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I haven’t ruled out the England coast path completely. I just think it would be a big challenge. When you have finished walking the Cornish coast you should def move into Devon.
Great video PP! I hadn't visited Plymouth prior to my SWCP hike last year and found the whole city and trek around the industrial docklands fascinating. Ok, maybe not the most scenic but so glad I didn't take the ferry. Anyway, thanks for sharing your video - definitely keep them coming. They are quality and I look forward to watching them like everyone else here. Doesn't really matter which trail you choose, there's no doubt you'll bring it to life and tell a good story as you always do. Keep up the great work👌
Funny that, I walked the Plymouth section on the same day with my hiking friend Sue D, who I believe you know. I love watching your videos, and it's great to see the coast path I've either walked or have coming up. Taking on the whole path in sections is my aim. Picking good weather days, seeing it at its best. I've completed from South Haven Point to Hope Cove, plus bits of Cornwall and North Devon. You've a lovely piece of the coast path coming up 🙌
Ah yes Sue has been following along since the early walks. Shame I missed you both. Ah yes seeing the path when the sun is shining is the best way to do it. I got quite wet on todays walk though!
Firstly great to see you back out 👍 as always most enjoyable watch, next adventure probably across Cornwall /Devon , can't wait for the next episodes 👍
Great to get a view of this part of the path, and to be aware of the industrial areas. And to see that this stretch is not a very hard one 😊. I'd really like to watch you walking the Tamara path, and then get the full circular path of Cornwall 😊 There are many paths to choose from. When I get older I'd consider to walk the Thames Path from the source and all the way to Thames Barrier. Not very hilly 😊
Hey Paul , great to see you back on the Path. I started on April 16 and finished on June 6th. It was the only way to do it given I had come from Australia. It is a good safe path but I think if I had my time again I would do it in two or three parts to appreciate it more rather than pushing though in one go. Love seeing your footage as ever and best wished on your anniversary.
Congratulations on completing it. I think if I were to do it again I would want to do shorter days to give me more time to just sit and appreciate it all.
Another great video Paul! And this one truly had me feeling I was walking in your footsteps, because I actually was, and covered the extended Plymouth section with my hiking buddy last Sunday just as you did (the sun soon disappeared that day didn't it!) We really didn't expect to enjoy the Plymouth section so much, but it was thoroughly enjoyable. Like you, we found the signing great and often ingenious and the whole route was very varied. Many thanks for recording it in such great detail. You do an amazing job. How did you film that bit at Jennycliff where the camera was following you along? Did you grab a passer by to do it or was it some nifty drone work?!? You always achieve the results of someone who has a film crew with them somehow...clever chap!! 😂 Well, I haven't bumped into you yet, but getting closer!
Such a shame we missed each other. It did turn grey that day whereas today was the opposite walking to Bigbury. That panning effect is something I can do in editing. It does give the impression someone is filming me though doesn’t it! I’m glad you both enjoyed Plymouth 😄
I'm planning to do the SWCP next year and your videos are great for info and entertaining. We were there for the fireworks on Wednesday, it's funny to see you going through, thanks Paul.
Thanks Paul. I haven’t been to the fireworks Championship in a few years but it’s always good. If you need any info when planning you’re hike, give me as shout.
We’re just one week ahead of you- we got to Budleigh Salterton on the 13th having left Plymouth on the 6th. Your videos were so helpful for the bits out of Falmouth that we did in July (we’re now packing it in to try and get it finished this year). Sarah and Carl (from the stretch around the Lizard)
lovely vid - my back yard as well. a nice rolling walk is the brecon way (or the cambrian way section of the same area - bit more hilly) if you pick the right weather, the views are quite stunning. atb
not even a walker myself but this is the 6th south west coatal path video thats ranomly apeared on my feed and the first one thats done this part of the path
Good to see you back bud. I love the way you’ve really grown in to your videos. You seem so much more comfortable in front of the camera these days. Anyways as for future trails how about the Appalachian trail ? 🤣 That’s on my bucket list and I’d really appreciate it if you could do a series of videos on it 😜
Thanks. Sometime it can still feel a bit awkward especially if there are other people around. The Appalachian would be incredible. Think I’d best stick a bit closer to home though 🤣
Always enjoying your stuff Paul so very much in favour of you continuing. How about the Welsh Coast Path? I have just done 40 miles of the Pembrokeshire CP and found it spectacular, quite remote which I like.
Nice to see you back. I can recommend the Dorset coast to coast, you will need a guide book as it’s not that well signposted in certain areas. Think I would rather do the section you are doing over the bank holiday than the Bude to Newquay section I am doing.😊
Great video Paul lots of places worth visiting Have you ever thought of doing the path in reverse I think I would like to do it both ways as you miss all the views behind you
Fairly sure some of those wrecked boats on Hooe Lake used to be houseboats; people lived on them back in the 70s and 80s. I've walked the Two Moors Way. Weirdly enough actually planned a walk following the Tamar but never did it and then they created the Tamara way!
@@pilgrimpaul7798 No, not yet. Definitely on my bucket list of walks though! It's getting round to it and finding a few free days with clement weather. Still ticking off SWCP sections at the mo. Hope you can do it too!
Welcome back Paul. Great local knowledge of Plymouth area. Doing the way you went through the industrial area looked quite interesting and it would not put me off from going that way. As for future trips surely the coast to coast is near the top of your list? Either way keep up with the great work 👍
Paul, there's a billion whw vlogs out there, wot I'd love is you're take on the 2moors way, this new tamar walk, maybe the southern end of the macmillan way, that would be worth watching, not the motorway whw, all the best.
Another top video. Taking me forever to do the path. Loving over London way limits how often I can get down there. Can you add the song titles to the end of your videos? Like to continue watching you on other walks. Have you considered the Cotswolds Way.
Thanks Chris. I know what you mean. I think that’s one of the main reasons I don’t think I’ll do the England Coast Path. Logistically it would be tricky. Have you done the Cotswolds Way? I’ll start adding track names to the video description. If I get time I’ll try and go back to my previous videos too.

Thanks Neil. I did the next section today so should get another video up next wk end.
Whichever walk you do next, I will watch, you are informative and inspirational, thank you x
Ah thank you. That’s nice to hear. 😁

Yes the Thames path sounds like a good one, I did Wembury to Bigbury today and don’t fancy any more hills 🤣

Ah hello. Good to hear from you. The Lizard seems such a long time ago. Hope you enjoy the rest of the path. I don’t plan to finish until next year.
Great video - the beginning was unexpected. I quite fancy the Hebridean Way. Perhaps you'd like to do that next.
Ah I don’t know anything about that one. I’ll take a look. Thanks for the suggestion.
Yey you’re back!
Sorry it’s been a while 😆

Quite a few people get the ferry from the Barbican to Mountbatten and miss most of this section, but being a local lad I wanted to do all of this leg.
great video mate well done, my wife and I have followed your journey awesume kia ora from New zealand
Thank you Lee. I’m currently away walking some more of the path so there will be a few more videos coming soon.

Yes I fancy the Pembrokeshire coast path as I think it might have some nice unspoilt scenery. I’ll be coming to you for advice 👍
Nice to see you back. I can recommend the Dorset coast to coast, you will need a guide book as it’s not that well signposted in certain areas. Think I would rather do the section you are doing over the bank holiday than the Bude to Newquay section I am doing.😊
I had no idea there was a Dorset coast to coast. I’ll look into it. There are a few hard days coming up for you (as there are for me) 🤣
It’s what you mentioned in your video starts at Wembury ends in Lynmouth. Probably typed it wrong as it’s the Devon coast to coast, what a Wally I am
Great video Paul lots of places worth visiting
Have you ever thought of doing the path in reverse

Thanks Paul. I will more than likely do the Two Moors Way 1st due to it being local for me and it is as you say far less travelled than the WHW.
Yes tamar way, yes devon coast to coast, and also how about Dartmoor way? All good!
Yes I didn’t mention the Dartmoor Way, but it is one I have looked into. Might be quite an easy one for me to do as I’m local.

Thanks Dave. That song is called Sirens by Rain Jewels.

No animosity between Argyle and Torquay really. We are friendly rivals.

About 4.5 hours I think 🤔
