I just had this problem but I was at my girlfriend's and didnt have a monitor to test this so. The audio was working but not the visual so I used this video as a guide to go blind into my settings and select hdmi and it worked 🤷♂️
I'm genuinely happy that I was able to fix my ps3 with the help of this video, I had no idea what to do at first for the last 8 months I've had It on the av cables and i had to blindly guess where the setting were in the menu before I switched it to the av cables, very much appreciated

I went through this a few times since I had my consol. Just leave it unplugged over night or a few days. Then plug both av and hdmi in and through av set up the hdmi switching to hdmi on tv when prompted. I guess not having power to it helps.

tried this about 6 or 7 times, and nothing has worked. I tried changing from my monitor to a TV and also using the component cables and still nothing. Anybody know a different solution?
Turn on the ps3, the screen is going to be black, turn the switch on the back off and then on then hold the button for like 30 seconds until it beeps more than once. Then you good...
If the screen to the PS3 seems black despite tried to change visual settings and more, try to press and hold “ON/OFF” button until 3 beeps, not just two as before to reset settings. After 3 beeps it will restart. Press and hold until 2 beeps. After this I finally got my picture via HDMI cable and could upgrade settings from 560p to 1080p and it worked fine!

This one wasn't working for me. Then I inverted the ends of HDMI wire (connect the end inserted in TV to ps3 and vice versa) and it worked!!

If you turned off deep color output (HDMI) you could go back to using 1080p

I changed my hdmi cable from slot 3 to slot 2 and it displayed . System was corrupt. It fixed itself then I could go back to hdmi 3
