I enjoy your repair videos, you do a great job.
I've been repairing electronic stuff for many years, and I'm still learning everyday new tricks and tips.
I think it's good to share that kind of knowledge, so in that spirit, I hope you don't mind if I tell you how to improve your demagnetizing procedure.
To properly perform the process, slowly bring the demagnetizer toward the head stack using a circular motion with the instrument coming close, but not necessarily touching and move over each head and guide. Only a few seconds are needed with each area of the tape recorder. Then slowly move the instrument away from the tape machine until you are at least 4 feet away prior to turning off the demagnetizer.
Cheers, and thank you for your videos.

I believe you providing instructions to demagnetize a TV set with large coil. I did like that at the beginning of 80s. Coil was large and to demagnetize TV we had to start close and then go to the distance. In opposite, head demagnetizer has small tip and field is concentrated around this tip. All instructions i have seen for the head demagnetizers do not mention any significant distance. I believe you are wrong here.

@@hifirulezzz Nope, I'm talking about demagnetizing casette decks. I'm just sharing the knowledge I was told in the 70's, the instructions I've always read in specialized forums, and even as showed in many professional yt channels, like Mend it Mark for example. Cheers.

I am impressed by this deck! Would have been interesting if you had a quick tour over the components - preamps, dolby ICs etc.
Thank you for this video! Pending for the part2 🙂

repaired those Braun components in the mid 1990ies, when they were already EOLed. company had bought the remaining factory stock, so no shortages of parts. but stock was as bad as the machines brought in.
those machines had so many issues related to bad ventilation. leaking capacitors everywhere. And the front panels had poor soldering quality, especially the tuner. perhaps they did not clean the PCBs before soldering or used the wrong flux. you had to basically deep clean the PCB, recap and resolder the complete front panel plus conformal coat it to avoid double repair/bounces.

I have the older version of this Braun deck, the C1. I bought it from Ebay and it was completly broken. I change belts and everything, and it was working great, but during reassebling i made a big mistake when i recconect the wires. I think i have burned something... Now i am stuck.
