    Please do more interviews like this. Never in my life did I imagine I'd enjoy listening to Harmy talk cricket, but here we are. He is a riveting storyteller and increasingly one of the more outspoken analysts in the game. This is gold, gents.

    Jarrod Kimber is brilliant in these things. Almost everyone seems to say “Jarrod you’ll know better than me.” He’s combines intelligence with a serious anaraky-ness

    I remember the great Viv Richards, he went to hook Rodney Hogg, misses, hit him in the face.
    The next Ball was another bouncer, Viv hit it for 6.
    Some player.

    Great stuff. But don’t mind my saying but there’s more to cricket than just the Ashes. Think of the great Windies, the 2 W’s from Pakistani, the Donald and Steins, the Vaas and Malingas, the Bumrahs etc.

    Worst thing about getting hit by something too quick for your technique is that it comes out of nowhere, there's like additional shock on top of the pain

    that silly point fielding position is just dumb in the modern age - there's courage, then there's just being a bit mental
    even bouncers are questionable if we want to grow the sport - the old footage with guys with no helmets or protective gear going up against the West Indies is pretty insane to watch now

    It is said that after David Hookes got his jaw broken by Andy Roberts early in his career, he wasn't quite the same either.

      I think that's understandable. Although Botham still played quite well after an Andy Robert bouncer in his face at the start of his career.

    • @nooneknows19
      @nooneknows19 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@wackyadz06 I mean he was overrated. Overrated doesn't mean bad. People might remember has a 9/10 bowler, but he was overall around a 6 or maybe 7. He had great peaks. But overall he was a pretty above average test bowler. He averaged 32 in tests playing most of his cricket in conditions that suit fast bowling. That's decent but you wouldn't go around saying that's unbelievable.

    • @wackyadz06
      @wackyadz06 24 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      @@nooneknows19 No1 says Harmy was "unbelievable". You're creating a narrative in your head and then de-bunking it. Cricket fans know what he was good at and where he felt short.

    • @jshaers96
      @jshaers96 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      He had some fantastic natural attributes that most quicks don't have: genuine pace, bounce and a challenging length that bothered even top batsmen. Unfortunately he didn't have the killer instinct that separates the best from the rest so he fell a bit short. I've never heard anyone claim he was a great bowler, but he could have been really something if he was a bit nastier.
