Hi Kim, So far the light is working great. I have never been able to see through fabric with a stabilizer on the back. And if you use heat erase pens you can't add the iron-on interfacing after drawing because it all erases! I've done it- LOL! Have a great week, Julia
I like all of the journal covers that you have made so far. I wish I had a free motion sewing machine so that I could start to experiment and practice the free motion stitching. But since I don't I thought of maybe just taking old Linens that I find that are already embroidered and use them as covers. Thanks for your inspiration.
Hi, Most sewing machines are capable of free motion stitching. The free motion feet can be purchase at most sewing machine store. Your machine may work. It is lots of fun. Julia

Hi, I have the Janome Memory Craft 8200. I got mine several years ago on sale. It was a floor model. Keep in mind that you do not need a fancy machine to do free motion work. Look for a machine that has a button or lever to drop the feed dogs. I would suggest a machine with a few decorative stitches to play with. Hope this helps, Julia

Hi Pam, I am really enjoying the wool mat. I ordered it off of an Instagram ad ( something I never do). The price was good $24. However it took over 2 months to receive it. I almost forgot that I ordered it! It may have been delayed because of Covid. Hopefully I can keep it looking nice and not all yucked up with adhesive LOL. Have a great weekend it! Julia

If you can’t lower your feed dogs you can cover them. Speak to manufacturer to find out what you can do on your machine
