I had just damaged my DT830B by setting DCV and connecting to AC voltage.
I was going to throw it away when I disassembled and saw these tiny SMD components.
How to find the faulty one???
The I saw your video orienting to check the resistor and identifying the faulty one!!
I did the same and found a similar sign on one of the resistors, when checked it was faulty!
It was a 900 ohms.
I then removed it and replaced it with a 102 (very close) also SMD
The multimeter is back in business!
(It measures AC 10% higher though)

I have looked for the resistor with signs of damage according to the orientation in this Vídeo. The resistor I found to be defective was the 9000 (900 ohms) I replaced it with another one that was available of 1000 ohms.
The result was good, because it started again to measure voltage, although with an increase of 10% in the read value. So I bought the right resistor (900 ohms) and replaced and now it is ok.
U can try to identify with a magnifier or u can measure with some other multimeter.

i have some resistor show the lower value than the actual number showing on SMD
when i remove the smd n measure it the result is normal then i put back on the resistor
my multitester going erratically
no short circuit just after i change the new buzzer to the louder one then the problem happen

Good, BUT I cannot understand how you converted SMD code into Ohm? What I know it is 1200 M Ohm because:
128, a Three Digit Code, follows:
= 12 x (10 x 8) OR 12E8
= 1200000000 Ohm
= 1200000K Ohm
= 1200M Ohm OR 1200 Meg Ohm
Please correct me if I am wrong
Neither of your tested resistors gave accurate readings, the big 470 Ohm resistor you checked gave > 580 Ohm, why is that?

Your video is very interesting bro. . My multimeter DT-830D. By mistake I checked AC current when the red probe was inserted to 10A-DC. Now the multimeter display is there, but it is not reading AC or DC voltage or the continuity. Checked for any burnt SMD or other part, but could not find any damaged component. Can you pls advise me how to repair this multimeter Thank you.

I have one DMM (HAOYUE DT830D).
Problems are as follows:
(1) Installed new battery
9 volts, the broblem is that inspite of fulled battery, in mode there is no display only dot is displayed ( Like (.) and on bugger/continue mode only (-1) minus one is displayed and slowly it disappeared. will you kindly give solution to what shall i check on PCB of DMM and why such problems are arised whether due to the fixed I.C.(Black) any bad components like Registors/diat/capacitors/bugger attachments.

Excuse me sir do you have the schematic for the exact same model? I'm trying to figure out the value of each smd capacitor especially the one that is located near the top left corner next to the big green mylar capacitor.

My brother this type of clamp meter is used to detect the induction current flows in wire so don't worry about smd burned .
Only you can use cotton & little amount of petrol and then just smoothly wipe the whole ckt and also clean the rotor ckt connection then fit tightly & correctly.
In my thought this type of problems persist when the rotor contact is loose through the ckt.

Hi Nihar.. I watched all ur videos, Nice work. I have two multimeter One is from Orpat and other is from Mastech both have same problem. Showing auto reading even if not used and always shows 1 in DC voltage. Sometimes shows reading. Please help

Main cause of this problem is due to weak smd resistor or burn smd resistor.My brother can you give all number printed number on smd resistor ,,like R16=103 etc ,, so I give you all resistor with appropriate color code.

When i measuew 1 vold in 20 section it shows 7
And 4 shows some odd
But it is not display problem.

If bad reading shows to aap apna R2 we Lekar R7 tak check karna hoga agar koi jala hua hai ya dry solder hua hai
R2 jaise ki ye sirf serial number hai aasli number smd me upar likha hua hai to aap jise nikale uske upar Jo number likha hua hai ise mujhe R2 se lekar R8 tak jitne hain uske upar Jo number likha hua hai mujhe comment karna jaise ki
