I’m new, I heard you say that talking while you are working it is somewhat distracting to the process of what you are doing. I joined because I not only wanted to subscribe but I want to tell you how VERY MUCH I appreciate your talking out loud about your processing. I have learned so very much from this channel more than any other. Thank you, thank you or telling us the what and why of what you are thinking as you go. I really, really appreciate you and your process. Please keep it up because you are teaching so many of us.
Thank you for your wonderful comment. I do appreciate it and I love what I do so I do plan to keep on going and I will have a free intro course coming out in March so stay tuned.

Thank you so much Michele, I really really enjoyed watching you create this beautiful and uniquely wonderful piece of abstract artwork. I absolutely love ❤❤❤❤ this piece. Superb piece too. Happy Christmas and Happy New Year Too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Love your art Michele. You are so inspirational and talented. My art has improved since I started watching your great videos! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. :)
Delightful presentation. Longterm ill and your calm and humerous voice is a treat. I knew the techniques but it is how the artist assembles and uses them which then fascinates. Thks and best. R
I’m so happy I landed on your videos today. It was exactly what I needed to get back into two large water, rocks, trees landscapes. I am going to practice the grounding techniques and paint in my studio, alone, with some good tunes! Cheers! 😎
You are so welcome! I notice that this particular video is really resonating with viewers. Do you mind sharing what the benefits were from this tutorial? Prompts? Shapes?
29:38 Sounds like a child saying "Hi Grandma" not sure if anyone else heard it. Maybe your grandchild was in the room but you never said anything if they were , so maybe just a strange audio sound. Love watchung your videos. I am on a break from painting and figured I would have a cup of tea and watch your video for insparation !
Lovely! I use what we call in the UK a gummed block( by Bockingford). It’s gummed around all edges except for a couple of inches to allow you to get in and release it. Is that what yours is? I liked this - a little less busy. Thanks for sharing, Jill R
@@micheleholdenart Bockingford and Saunders Waterford are made in England by a firm called St Cuthbert’s Mill. Arches is made in France. They both do the gummed blocks which don’t buckle at all, even with lots of water. I tape with Scotch Magic tape which is quite narrow just to give a crisp finish. Maybe use Magic those on the smaller ones ??
@@micheleholdenartDo you find painting the Gloss Medium around the edge can tear the paper when you pull the tape off..unless you are using a razor blade to gently score/ cut to release the glue? Also Liqutex make a “Flow improver” to add in your Gloss Medium or any of their paint, makes them less viscous. It says to mix with a little water before adding, if adding to my bottles I use distilled water so the water doesn’t go mouldy. …Thank you for your interesting video, really enjoying watching. I don’t know how you can talk while thinking and painting… using both right and left sides of the brain when creating is way too hard for me! ❤
I notice people saying they like your process, but surely the process is, there is no process! I have watched a number of abstract tutorial videos on YT and most of them, just make a mess. There are some (not many), Sterling Edwards is one, who turn out a really attractive painting, but he is very talented and has actually got a process. I've tried to repeat what he does, but it's not easy, although I have picked up some of his methods and the end results are not bad!
Yes, but there is a process. It is to follow your intuition and not your thinking during the mark making and starting. Then spin out of that mode to see what you have. Then continue. You need to start with an intention.
New subscriber here. Super video. No music👍just your voice and sounds of the studio, a proper painting session with clear instruction. Thank you from Scotland, looking forward to seeing more......Alioban ❤

Yes! Thank you!
Ps also called fineliner applicators
If you are looking for a thinner medium, maybe try Golden Glazing liquid. Pretty much the same stuff but nice and thin. Loved this video.

Thanks so much! I believe they are called fine line applicators I got them on Amazon.
I just checked and they’re called needle nose bottles.

Sounds great! That might be an Arches product. I have smaller ones that I will use but not sure about the taped edge. What do you think?

A process is a series of actions to meet an end. You cant do anything without a process.

@alisonlyons4691 Welcome! You might want to check out my Free 5-day course to get you started on your art journey! Link is in the comments!
Hi, Michele. Fun exploration! From what part of Canada do you hail? I'm in Toronto. Deborah
Hello! I’m in the Georgian Bay area.
Hi. Is that a glass palette?
Yes it is!
Did you prime your substrate?
No I didn’t. I find that 140 pound watercolour paper is pretty tough but you have to be careful not to over scrape.
I get an error message (broken link) when I try to sign up for the PDF
Thanks for mentioning I checked it out and all the links seem to be working if you want to check again and let me know. Thanks.
couldn't download the pdf
That’s too bad which sign-up form were you using? Was it the one on the TH-cam channel?
What is your insta name?
