@DhruPurohit would you be so kind and tell me the dentist - I need this expansion appliance- I did the same thing with Invisalign and braces and am suffering now with head neck and spine pain - and my jaw /bite is very off. I would be so so grateful
I believe that too from what I’ve been going through for the past 10 years. Im fully in menopause, starting bleeding 2013 OBGYN said thin lining of my uterus. 8 months later it stated again ( all slightly bleeding 1 day only) the next OBGYN said I had a uterine polyp . I started to gain weight which I was always medium sized. Now, 11 years later I can’t get the weight off and stressed , depressed bc of family members passing away I’m bleeding off and on since the pandemic and passing clot , no pain though . I’m tired of this .
I’ve been told by all the doctors that nothing is wrong with me for the last 15 years! But I felt like everything is wrong! No, I understand that I started going through perimenopause ! Not a single doctor ever mentioned that I might be going through hormonal changes 😢
@@nicolemanners8604 There's been so little research into menopause so that many think that it's just the periods ending and women can't get pregnant any longer, as if that's the core of our existence.
Same goes to me... even I did intermittent fasting, the midsection will always the hardest to lose fat over there. Then if over-trained, I got injury easily even before 45 I was a hiker, trained for marathon and weight lifting. I need to give up all just for the body to recover from injury. Since then, things changed. I have to reset and reset to adapt the body changes.
Most of my life I've been a skinny mini. Menopausal weight gain I've discovered is simplistically "Sugar" inc: artificial sugars & salt hypersensitivity. Stress ( Cortisol) sleepless nights. My weight climbed, until I decided to get ruthless with all foods ^ drinks containing sugar. Exercise 3 times a week weight lifting n cardio. Weight is dropping off...consistency is key...
Lost 25 pounds in 2 months doing carnivore. Energy is amazing! I walk 5 miles a day. Sleep great. Brain is focused. Body aches are gone. I'm almost 62. ❤
@@madj7152 the general guideline is eat until you’re full then eat a little more. I translate it to 1.5 x your normal portion size. For weight loss, it’s 1-0.8 g of protein per goal weight. Try to keep your fat to protein ratio at least 50/50. you can do some lean protein days and some high fat days. The first 2-3 days you may feel weak and fatigue from the carbs withdrawals. When you eat, heavily salt your food. As salty as you can still enjoy the food. I’m not an expert. Just what I’ve learned and works for me. I’m not giving medical advice.

I am 46 have become a therapist at this time of my life, and would like to support women encountering perimenopause and menopause through the mental aspect of these transitions.
I need that help! The physical aspect is hard enough but the mentalnemotional inner process that is happening is disorienting, scary, sad, and so much more
Women are also so time strapped these days, managing careers and family. And it's increasingly harder to make ends meet. Our kids are entering a broken world and we carry all the emotional strain of this. It's so hard to have time to make homemade dinners and on a budget or to have time to exercise or the money to join a gym / class.
Absolutely agree about being time strapped. I genuinely don’t think this modern fast paced life, working full time and running a house is suited to women. We need that softer, slow life so it’s like we’re constantly running uphill and getting nowhere.. a treadmill on incline and trying not to fall off. In terms of homemade dinners, I do a lot of one pot meals with extra portions and freeze them. If it’s a meal that takes more than 15 mins to prep and cook, there’s no way I’m doing just one portion! I utilise the exercise videos on TH-cam for free. I refuse to pay a gym membership and spend even more precious time driving to and from the gym… sometimes my exercise is walking on the spot after a meal to lower the glucose spike or dancing around my bedroom to a few of my favourite songs to raise my heart rate. The best thing is, you don’t even need to look presentable! Sometimes I exercise in my pajamas that are going to be washed that day…again saving time and less laundry. Hope this gives some inspiration 😊

Thanks for this discussion. After menopause I had my visceral fat measured and discovered I had a lot of it.Plus I was also pre-diabetic. After researching, I have cut out ultra processed food , decreased my alcohol consumption and do short bouts of maximum exercise (re Dr Sean O'Mara). I have now lost 7kg , no longer pre diabetic, halved my triglycerides and have lowered my insulin!! Take charge of your life.
I agree, everyone go watch Dr. Sean O’Mara on visceral fat and how plant based processed foods and whole plant foods causes it and going carnivore reverses it.
Congratulations on your successful weight loss! I need to lose about 25 pounds and have had difficulties sleeping through the night. I am going to check out the short bouts of maximum exercise that you commented on.
I totally agree. I was slightly overweight after menopause I could not lose weight anymore. I also cut out all ultra processed food, I do short burst exercises and I lost 5 kgs. And yes, go watch Dr. Sean O'Mara. Ps. Keep checking the foodlabels!!
Walking after meals and consuming a small amount of vinegar 20 minutes before your meal hugely helps with glucose spikes after meals and energy partitioning.
I second that. I take only one tablespoon of apple cider vinager in the morning - I found I couldnt tolerate it before each meal. How much vinager are you taking?
I feel the same, I am suffering from social anxiety and feelings of not being good enough. So I just stay home when not working and don’t socialise at all.
Spot on: every decade us women have a new game changer on hormones but 50 is by far the hardest challenge, tough to find the break through thanks for this ..
After suffering with lymphedema for 7 years in my forties at 53 I took the bull by the horns and started studying how Europeans deal with it because AMA doesn't care unless cancer's your lymph nodes I could hardly walk one block let alone 10 minutes after being a athlete most of my life I started taking those 10 minutes a day and making sure I walked in my house and bumped it up to dancing then decided to take on diet which had just been lazy feel good carbohydrates ice cream sweets after being a lacto vegetarian for 20 years and slowly got rid of the carbs went completely organic made huge salads a day with everything in them and I even drink a beer once in a while and eat no bread no pasta no tortillas no pizza no sugar and I got down to my fighting weight in my size for Levi from high school losing a pound a year and it was not a struggle because the foods that I could eat are the foods that I love like egg omelets avocado olive oil nuts and seeds every manner of vegetable bananas bananas and peanut butter and every once in a while a little piece of chocolate so flavorful like a little piece of cheese you only needed a little bit life is so much better when you just do the thing that is not that hard but necessary after 50 New Life ladies were liberated
I'm currently at 25 min. I usually don't listen 2 hrs videos but this is so refreshing after all those hyped up vids. I find all that yelling and fast talking obnoxous and my ears hurt. It is rarely to find video like this, where people just talk in their normal voice and pace. Highly appretiated.
Heres a crazy one. As an "older mother" (36) I'd never felt so balanced and at peace as when I was pregnant. For my baby, I quit sugar, I cared for myself for the first time ever, quit alcohol obviously, I exercised and I managed stressful situations. Essentially, I loved myself. This upload is great, and helped me understand exactly what I did. Now I need to get back into my pregnancy state of being lol!
I'm a 55 y/o Mammographer. I've been on Bioidentical HRT for over 2 years, though my sister died of breast cancer @ 48. My quailty of health had rapidly declined. High Cholesterol, Osteoporosis, Memory Loss, Dry skin/hair, Muscle loss, Redistribution of fat, and Rapid aging. Just to name a few! What quality of life would I have in a few years if I continued to decline so rapidly? I now look younger than I did 10 years ago, my Cholesterol is down, and my memory is back! I do a skin care routine, including microneedling and glycolic acid, to help reverse the aging. I'm never going off BHRT, and my doctor agrees! I am very fortunate but initially had to hire a Naturopath doctor and pay out of pocket. Today, my GYN and BHRT are covered by insurance.
I am so happy she mentioned stress a number of times. I’m a recently retired nursing professor. ICU has been my specialty, but wellness is my love. I wrote a book called “peace management.” it is a program to retrain your brain not to trigger the stress response. Emotions are a response to the thought. Stress is possibly the number one comorbidity or many illnesses.
Emotions are the response to the thought - which then creates the environment for similar thought to be generated. I explain this in my seminars, which I rarely give now that I am retired. If there is a way to reach out to me, I would be happy to help. Maybe my email tied to my name? I don’t want to put my contact info on here.
My mom is an icu nurse and finally retired a few years ago. Now that she’s retired, she’s lost so much weight. She thinks it’s from the stress from work + the night shift.
I agree, insomnia is very real. I’m a certified hypnotherapist and I made myself a self hypnosis bedtime playlist. It has helped me tremendously. I no longer have insomnia. I sleep through the night. I’ve lost 35 pounds. With hypnosis and with intermittent fasting focusing on a carnivore diet. I’m more happy now than I’ve ever been in my life.
@@Missgevious I take Progestan 100mg capsules under my tongue, it is called sublingual. It melts into your skin, I don`t swallow it so it doesnt go to my liver.
@michellelo2010. Agreed! When hot flashes kept me awake when I went into menopause, my female doctor doctor said just get used to it, she did not support the use of HRT. Insomnia really did a number on my mood and cognition. And it is viscious cycle, where crappy sleep makes for a crappy day that feeds into another night of crappy sleep and more anxiety because you know your going to not be able to fall asleep when you wake with a hot flash at 1 am. I got a new doctor who wrote me a Rx for HRT and it was game changing.
Water fasting for 30 days would reduce them most likely. I was in a group and it happened to one girl. I think she did 2 to completely rid her body of them. My ex did water fasts and his skin would glow, but they arent for everyone. I intermittently fast but not long term yet. I’d research it, if carni doesnt work you could try it! Lots of science on it

Wow. I listened to this in two parts. The first part was informative but the second part was just a whole other level of profound. I did not expect to hear about trauma, epigenetic genes and psychedelics. This woman is ahead of our time!
6 and a half minutes in she totally described my experience with all details being accurate including the way my complaints were addressed at gyno. EXACTLY the same experience
I knew what I needed to do but literally was not allowed (by society and family) to do what I knew in needed to do. We are expected to perform at work like men now thanks to the ‘feminist’ movement. Society does not give a perimenopausal or post menopausal woman a break. We have to act our way through decades. It’s exhausting. I believe this is a big factor in raised divorce rates. Women are absolutely exhausted and literally want a divorce to get some sleep, peace, and space to be how they actually are. To be authentically female. The whole of society need education on menopause, not just women.
Too bad not enough women feel this way and allow the natural state of the male and female framework to come back as nature intends. Maybe if enough women would stand up for it and quit teaching thier daughters and grand-daughters these new feminist ways, the pendulum might begin to swing back over time.
@marciaevans-v1s Yeah. This is why young adults guess me to be 30, because I don't look like a little old granny. The perception of 50 is like 'omg, old and sleepy'. In reality, it's gym, work, socialise, travel, live, love, life!
You sound boring. I followed the advice of men, & stopped associating with most middle-aged + women. They get boring & act like old fuddy duddies. This ages you rapidly. All my friends are younger now. Older women are depressing, & I can see why men don't want to date them anymore.
Just a quarter of the way through this but when talking about stress that women just seem to experience more she hasn't brought up thus far that during the pandemic assault on women and children went way up. Not to mention the financial inequities and the burden of child and elder care. Doctor Gabor Mate could add alot to this conversation . Thank you
I will never ever forget - I was 45. Starting menopause and bleeding like crazy. Had a D and C. Nope. Had to have a uterine ablation. Bleeding stopped. BTW, before that surgery I was given the drug Mifepristone with zero warning. OMG. I thought I was giving birth seriously. There was no follow up from dr after ablation. I was thrown into menopause. The symptoms. I asked and asked and asked - that entire OB GYN team - help me. I was drying out. Sweating and losing my sex drive. You know what my male doctor told me? "Get into bed naked. That's all you need to remember." HUH??????? No advice on biodenticals. Nothing. This was 17 years ago. I am now in my mid 60s. Scared to death. Aging rapidly because I was advised - no hormones. They cause cancer. What happens to my generation now? I know our grandmothers did not have hormones. But my grandparents also slept in separate rooms. I never saw affection. They looked old. Kinda feel like I was sentenced to a slow, painful death as I await osteoporosis, dementia, my husband leaving and more. Just wow ......
I couldn't afford to keep looking for a good doctor Who cared. If you can read you can learn. You can get your hormone panel online, Most of them have people who will go over it with you, and you can do your own reading and learn what is normal. What is low normal what is high normal etc.... Then you can order your own hormones from india Or canada
Just want to say you look absolutely gorgeous & Big hugs - being a woman is so TUFF ! I’ll be 42 next month and want to be prepared as possible and women like you (and others in the comments) who are wiser and use their voice are really inspiring. Maybe you can use this to educate other women. Praying for you ! ❤️
when I did my hormone test this year, my estrogen & testosterone levels were way too high and to combat this I have been using progesterone cream. It’s okay.
FOOD is definitely a big part of the hormone issues in women (and men), people eat fast food every week, if not every day, even grabbing a muffin or donut at a coffee shop counts. Back in the day, eating out was a "treat" and you went out to eat as a family, never alone. Women started working, and raising children, and household chores, etc; whereas before women ran the household (very well I might add), because they didn't have the added stress and time that work takes up. The traditional "nuclear" way of life was WAY healthier for the entire family. Yes women went through menopause back then too, but they didn't have all of these stresses on top of it. You would be lucky if you have a spouse who helps with raising the children and the household chores (cooking meals, laundry, cleaning, doctors appointments, soccer practice, pay bills, etc), it's hard to be 50/50 ALL the time, but if it's give and take on a regular basis, that can take a TON of stress off the woman or one of the spouses.
In India ,women had accidental pregnancies at 49yrs also, they were housewifes who finished their chores and took afternoon naps. They were fertile at 50, menopause would begin post 55yrs. They cooked fresh meals and only focus on the house and family .
So if 1 eats processed can or oackages or frozen they get hormones imbalances? So what foes 1 eat and does the food need to be organic beef ? Chicken? ....
@@joanneclark8256 Processed food and foods packaged in plastic do have chemicals that can affect the body. Eat organic and buy raw vegetables and freeze them yourself if necessary. Diet and exercise have a huge effect, but many doctors just want women to shove handfulls of hormones to keep the levels artificially high, and we don't know the long-term effects yet.
This is great. I’m definitely having my cortisol checked. When I take a really clean magnesium in the right dosage. I sleep well and I’ve been struggling my entire life. Magnesium helps when you find the right one and the right dosage and stop alcohol and caffeine and sugar after a certain time
I just realized after 7 years Im no longer holding my breath. I just realized here today why I was doing it. Its probably why I thought I was having heart problems and was going to die young and I had to accept it.
I came off POP aged 50. Apart from 8 years of sleep disturbance (and obviously zero periods) I have no idea when my menopause happened. Never had a hot flash or any of the other common symptoms. I’ve recently got my sleep back together. I’m down over 50lb, do resistance training and walk everywhere.
I’m 61. I take meds for hypothyroid and I use estradiol cream every day. I had a total hysterectomy at 36. Ovaries… everything out. Because of Suzanne Somers. The author of the books on bioidentical hormones, I insisted on HRT otherwise I think I would have gone insane and I’m not kidding. You don’t have to suffer ladies. Progesterone is good for irritability and anxiety for example. Give it a try. Find a doctor who understands your needs
This problem just started for me at age 59… after having knee surgery… I gained 10 solid pounds and I’ve been struggling to take it off. My metabolism has always been pretty high and I’m very active, but I’m having to cut out a lot of things I used to be able to eat… now slowly getting back into shape but its hard work!
Well after listening to this I see that sleep is my problem. I went through menopause at 42 years old. My cycle just stopped. Never had a weight issue before that. After that I haven't slept in 33 years and gained 100 lbs. No help from doctors. My thyroid is beautiful according to my doctor. Checked for the fourth time last week. I've been using ashwagandha for a little while now and still not sleeping. Started weight training 5 months ago and have only lost 2 lbs. Tried keto and lost no weight. I don't think there is any hope for me to be a healthy weight ever again.
@suziee3383 There is ALWAYS hope, never give up. See if you can find a functional or integrative doctor or a Naturopath near you. You can get a urine test to check hormones as well, Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy is highly recommended by a lot of people. You won't know if it will work for you until you give it several months to a year to find the right dosage that works best for your body. This will help you with your sleep, which is essential for everything else to work properly.
The older women I know are valued by their husbands, families and friends-maybe some more than others, but I don’t see growing older as meaning I’ll be less valued by others-more like the opposite. ❤
I feel that my MD is partially responsible for me having T2D because he did not tell me that I was headed to T2. I didnt know what the glucose reading meant and when I ask him he said oh dont worry. I could have changed my situation. I tell people today to ask questions and get the understanding instead of trusting doctors with your health. 😢. Thanks for the video❤
Besides Dr. Jason Fung, look up Benjamin Bikman. He’s here on TH-cam. He wrote the excellent book “Why We Get Sick”. Unfortunately most doctors only look at glucose and not fasting insulin. Glucose can be perfectly normal, but insulin can be sky high. Good luck on your journey. You can heal yourself.
same as it ever was and love the MDs who have come on board... nutrition, movement, yoga (which includes resistance when well taught), meditation, breathwork, embodied practices, plant medicines when applicable... for the win
An MRI showed I have less brain volume than most people my age. I had this test at age 50. I am concerned because there is dementia in my family but at much older age ( past 80). This is the first time I have heard hormonal changes being connected to the brain. Very informative, thanks!
A wonderful talk. I'm 82 ans started hrt at age 50. It saved my sanity and I've been using bio identical cream until changing my GP who was horrified, and talked me into stopping. 6 months down the track I feel awful as a result, brain fog, depression, expanding waistline, and hips and generally feeling "old". I 've found a practitioner who will prescibe it for me again but after 6 months without, is that too long a gap to start again ? I would appreciate any feedback ?

Thank you for sharing your mother’s experience Dhru because that’s exactly what I’m dealing with and my cortisol levels are through the roof due to chronic stress & lifetime trauma. I truly appreciate this honest conversation about our hormones and I will seek oral progesterone instead of transdermal to aid in better sleep. I’m fearful of estrogen but will seek a new, functional physician, a fresh thyroid panel, and Sara’s books + ‘Forever Young’. 📚 A doctor’s recommendation for me was “I don’t know what else to do for you but just eat cucumbers & lettuce because there were no fat people in concentration camps.” 😮😢
Holy cow a Dr said that about concentration camps At least you be right there’s a lot less carbohydrates which have been more like what he should’ve said no words
Wish this long video was broken into chapters so that it's easier to digest and go to sections of interest vs wading through 2+hrs of video. Some of us in the medical field already know most of this information so offering such a long video in chapters would've helped to go to sections of novel info
I wished it had chapters so I didn't have to screenshot where I paused before going off to do something else then coming back and trying to find my place maker
The root of all changes and problems is a lack of proper nutrition, perhaps this is the first problem to solve. All commercial food goes after more profits first, and competition is fierce, and because of this, all food is advertised as better than the competition. However, almost any can, box, or bag is not fresh food, and maybe that is an indication of what to eat or not. Another good indicator of something odd is the constant increase in cloth sizes.
Unfortunately, this "brushing off" of women's health issues by medical professionals is SO prevelant. I was dismissed for months due to all of sudden heavy heavy bleeding non-stop and extreme pain, worse than child labor by a thousand times, went to Emergency several times, went to family doctor, went to walk-in doctors, all brushed me off saying I'm just getting older, it's just hormones changing. Family doc put me on birth control to control bleeding, it somewhat worked but not a hundred percent, I was still bleeding very heavy on the 7 days off birth control. All this while I was waiting to see a gyno, because the wait list was SO long at any gyno I called. Minimum 2 month wait. Emergency room doctors put me on other meds to reduce bleeding, which didn't help at all. All they kept doing was ultrasounds and it kept showing fibroids/cysts, so the docs kept chalking it up to these things and nothing else. Finally got in to see the gyno, and she immediately said she thinks it's cancer and I need to get biopsied immediately. I was at the oncologist a day later and diagnosed with cerival cancer. No one in the months prior bothered to check me internally, and if the wait list for gynos wasn't so long, I wouldn't been diagnosed earlier and started treatment sooner. DO NOT ALLOW doctors to brush you off, I wish I had been more insistent. Although I didn't suspect cancer at all, I KNEW something was not right, and it's wasn't "just hormones". GET your pap tests regularly as early as age 30. Thank you for this episode, I wish more doctors/healthcare professionals watch these types of videos/podcasts, but most of them think they know it all already and/or don't really care about patients, they will do bare minimum.
I needed to hear this. Every woman needs to hear this particularly those who are in transition to pre-menopause and menopause. Thank you so much to you both. God bless you.

I totally agree with the meditation and conscious breathing exercises. Since teenage years I experience similar to menopause symptoms due to childhood trauma. So through menopause years I just kept doing exercising, meditation 24/7 it helped me to activate and balance my autonomic system (more Parasympathetic activity) so for me came and went without a significant impact in my life. Very great full for that 🙏
I’m really happy that you’re putting all this information out there. One thing that really bums me out, frustrates me, and borderline makes me angry though is the fact that most of these tests are not available for most of us. It’s the testing that caused so much, never mind things that can help us. I appreciate all this information but once again if there’s a way you can direct your resources to getting middle class people access to these important test that’s where the real help is needed
I had to go back on oral contraceptives because my male doctors insist I have depression (keep trying to push SSRIs on me) and not hormone issues causeing my brain fog and fatigue post turning 40. I already feel a lot better.
Careful with BCPs. I went on them at 47 and after about 6 months, had DVT and pulmonary embolism with no previous history of clotting issues (and having taken BCPs and other types of BC in the past).

I have listened to so many podcasts on menopause and not one single host has ever asked "What blood tests are required before the correct doses of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone,.. are prescribed for the patient?"
What you’ve described is me to a tee. I took oral progesterone for a couple years and it helped a lot. Then my 18 yo daughter was diagnosed with a large meningioma which caused epilepsy. Her tumor was tested and has progesterone receptors so she was encouraged to not utilize any hormones and it freaked me out. I did a deep dive and learned many women get these brain tumors in menopause due to HRT. Any suggestions for alternative options that aren’t hormones?
@@foxyauragems6146 Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy is plant-based, HRT is animal based and not identical to human biology. You have to find a good doctor/naturopath or integrative doctor who is trained in BHRT to figure out where your hormones are at, and your dosage. It is much more tailored than traditional/synthetic hormone therapy (HRT). OR you can speak with a naturopath/natural herbalist, to figure out how to use foods, herbs and/or supplements to deal with the hormonal changes. Hope that helps. Good luck :)
That’s the first I’ve ever heard of this. Our brains have estrogen receptors all over it so we do well with estrogen. I’m not so sure about progesterone being a problem, but if you get the chance read the book Estrogen Matters. It was written by an oncologist who has helped hundreds of women over the past twenty plus years. Regarding the brain, another good book is the XX Brain. It’s all about women having healthy brains. Wishing you and your daughter well.
@@crh251 meningiomas (brain tumor) include exposure to radiation, prolonged use of certain hormones ( including flactuation of estrogen Nd progesterone) some genetic disorders (e.g., neurofibromatosis) It happened to my mother .. and it was after she got off hormone replacement therapy abruptly It happens with hormone fluctuations... if a young woman is getting on and off birth control or just has a problem with her hormones naturally.. it can happen. Now this proves the importance the medical field should give to women and women's hormones.. specially as we get older... we live longer and there is no excuse we aren't treated with more respect. There is no reason we should be suffering from so much arthritis, osteoporosis, dryness, and over all quality of life. If men had been the ones that were getting mostly autoimmune diseases, degenerative arthritis, cancers .. we would have probably seen a lot more interest.. Men have to want to be "women" for hormones to be administer like crazy.. trans people are getting more support than menopausal women... I think that is sad. The only good thing that may come out of this "trans" frenzy, is a better understanding of hormones and hormone replacement
I am getting her book for sure! What a gift she is to us. I'm so happy I stumbled on this video and happened to click to view it. It's hard to find good doctors. You have to have the knowledge to make sure you know what you're getting. So you can't lay 100% of your well being on them only.

For me balancing blood sugar means eating healthy carbs(veggies) with protein(lean, gelatinous meat) and fat. When i eat fruit i balance it with cheese(grapes and cheese). Works perfectly🙂
Me, soon to be 37, realizing that my estrogen levels are imbalanced just by watching this. The lubricant thingy, the stiff joints which forces me to increase my process of warming up before my weight training.. My menstrual cycle has been effed up since I had my son 2021.. I don’t stress though, and that’s a choice I’ve made, to not stress
I had EVERY one of those symptoms. And was prescribed antidepressants- I said I’m depressed because I’m not sleeping and not sleeping leads to not exercising which led to low serotonin. The low libido got my husband to asking his friends for help and that how I finally found a doctor who performed pellet therapy. It still didn’t help me sleep or the low libido 😅 but it helped with a lot of the other symptoms.
What do you do when you don’t have the money to pay for these tests and to pay for a functional medicine doctor out of pocket??? I have fibromyalgia and only work part time, because of my chronic pain and fatigue. I just barely make ends meet.😢
If you can only do one thing for fibromyalgia get on probiotic that doesn't break down in the gut. Take enzymes, eat organic as much as you can especially coffee or cut it out completely. See an acupuncturist in a community setting they are usually sliding scale. Your blood is too sticky. Acupuncture will help your blood move.
The key to finding a functional medicine doctor is to find a medical doctor who practices functional medicine. They exist, but you have to search for one. That way your insurance covers it.
This is exactly what my GP did to me as well… Try to give me an SSRI and birth control… I went on cycle, smart, and all the lump in my breast went away, and my region PMS went away He then refused to check my testosterone, so I went to a functional doctor and had a full panel… Turns out I had rock-bottom low testosterone like I thought I went on bio, identical, hormones, and put an end to a two-year chronic fatigue situation. That was so awful. We have to advocate for ourselves! We have to do more than go to the regular doctor… They won’t do anything other than write prescriptions. I love this type of contact is so important for us.
Either get premium so you have an ad fee experience or understand the bills get paid with ads. I did the fee version for years, but I finally decided the paid version was worth it to me.

I want to prepare for this. I’m now 31, never get fat like what others experiencing. 97lbs as of now. I used to be 105 lbs when I started this healthy living. I want to gain my old weights but in a healthy way of eating ❤to be healthy before my 40s❤
I'm 54. I had three children in less than three years by the time i was 23, two miscarriages, several female surgeries and finally a complete hysterectomy by age 27. I also had started menstrating the before surgery. In the early 90s, I was given Premerin, and my body rejected it. They put me on estradiol and I ended up with cronic vaginosis. After going off hrt that issue cleared up amd never came back. I didn't use hrt until 2018ish my functional medicine doctor put me on all bio identical hormones. What a ride that was! I also learned I have a slow thyroid back then too. We'll the hrt and thyroid medication made me fat, didn't help my sleep and gave me back hot flashes and night sweats! I no longer take anything. I'm working on diet and exercise.
I went full carnivore for a year to cure insulin resistance and pre-diabetes. Although I lost 15 pounds and slept better, I did my labs and to my surprise my levels got worse! A1C went up, Uric acid was high, ferritin high, cholesterol high, etc. I don’t think carnivore is for everyone. I’m a clean eater, haven’t had any simple carbs in years. NO processed food whatsoever, NO sugar ever yet my health on paper doesn’t look good. I wish I could find a diet that works for me. Went on a two month vacation, drank wine often and the 15 pounds came back. So weird. Adding, Veges, nuts, yogurt was all I did and now I’m back to base. This doesn’t seem right. It’s got to the hormones. I really wish more people would talk about this so us mid-life women don’t have to throw darts trying to figure out how to navigate this period of our lives. I’m 51 but feel 81 😞
@@Purvaja21 I do IF everyday usually 16/8, some times longer. It’s just natural for me to eat within those windows. I eat two meals a day. I was told by my Health coach not to IF but I still do it because that’s what’s natural to me. I found a new doctor last week and he says it’s my hormones so we are working on a plan to get me on HRT after my labs. He also advised not doing a meat based diet at this stage of life. Mind you, I’m not over weight- never have been, but insulin and A1C was on pre-diabetic levels so that’s what made me do carnivore to help reverse it. I just want to get back to my comfortable size which is 10 pounds less and reverse my levels to normal. I know Dr. Mindy, I’m very familiar with all the doctors in the Carnivore/Keto space and IF doctor like Dr. Fung. I’ve leaned diet is very individual and not one size fits all. I’m not restricting anymore. Eating more whole food fiber like Dr. Mary Claire- Haver promotes. Praying HRT will help with all my concerns and issues.
A balanced diet is key and eating liver, butter and all meat is not healthy period. And sans hormone replacement therapy you can expect those numbers to rise. Diets aren’t going to put the hormones back in that prevent these negative feedback loops.

It's so hard to have time to make homemade dinners and on a budget or to have time to exercise or the money to join a gym / class.
so true! I wish we could go back in time and have stay home mums as a norm!
So dump the career.
You don’t have to join the gym. There are so many videos exercises at home, just buy you weights.

Walking after meals and consuming a small amount of vinegar 20 minutes before your meal hugely helps with glucose spikes after meals and energy partitioning.

Intresting! I spent all my adult life being careful around my thoughts. Time waisted! Thoughts are in response of emotions, being aware or not.
Emotions are the response to the thought - which then creates the environment for similar thought to be generated. I explain this in my seminars, which I rarely give now that I am retired. If there is a way to reach out to me, I would be happy to help. Maybe my email tied to my name? I don’t want to put my contact info on here.

Well said.
Too bad not enough women feel this way and allow the natural state of the male and female framework to come back as nature intends. Maybe if enough women would stand up for it and quit teaching thier daughters and grand-daughters these new feminist ways, the pendulum might begin to swing back over time.

Interesting 😊how are you now?

I am loving the esoteric part of this talk as I believe this is an area in womens health and healing that could open up some grand enlightment.
Also, as women get older they become very marginalized and invisible... and ya, that's stressful
Haha...so true!!! I was told retirement women go into making mosiacs! Ha. But, it's true, taking up a challenging new topic engages you.
You can reverse t2d. Please take control and educate yourself.
You absolutely can reverse it. Jason Fung MD is a good start. Lots of info on TH-cam.
Very informative,
thanks!
My mom is 70 she had a stroke. I started buying Ginko Biloba for memory its helping. Blessings
reduce stress, that's the most important thing add coconut oil to your diet. It's so good for our brains
Good discussion. Dr Mindy Pelz Fast Like a Girl and Dr Anna -the Girl friend doctor are also excellent resources in the area of women’s hormones.
AGREE!!!
Barbara Taylor
Definitely not long of a gap at all...go back on it & don't ever go off it again.. its protection 😊
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this excellent book that contains all the information need to approach holistic health !!H δίαιτα για τον νου και το σώμα!❤
Holy cow a Dr said that about concentration camps
At least you be right there’s a lot less carbohydrates which have been more like what he should’ve said no words
Sorry for dumb doctor.
Wish this long video was broken into chapters so that it's easier to digest and go to sections of interest vs wading through 2+hrs of video. Some of us in the medical field already know most of this information so offering such a long video in chapters would've helped to go to sections of novel info
Medical system #SUCKS ..NEVER HELPED ME GASS LITE
I wished it had chapters so I didn't have to screenshot where I paused before going off to do something else then coming back and trying to find my place maker
The root of all changes and problems is a lack of proper nutrition, perhaps this is the first problem to solve.
All commercial food goes after more profits first, and competition is fierce, and because of this, all food is advertised as better than the competition.
However, almost any can, box, or bag is not fresh food, and maybe that is an indication of what to eat or not.
Another good indicator of something odd is the constant increase in cloth sizes.
Well said! Nutrition is number one point to rectify
This interview with Dr. Gottfried was BY FAR wayyy better than the one with Huberman...thank you so much. I am subscribing now. 🙏🏾✨
@Blueskies7775 you are so lucky to be ALIVE! They should be sued!! And struck off.
Such a horrible thing to have to happen to you due to the neglect of doctors
This is what is called medical gaslighting. It’s ridiculous how doctors do this.
All Perimenopause reversed for me on carnivore. Even cycles back to normal and no more PMS symptoms. I am age 47 young.
I started carnivore and no change in pms symptoms and I now get 2 periods a month :/ going to go to back on keto.

I needed to hear this. Every woman needs to hear this particularly those who are in transition to pre-menopause and menopause. Thank you so much to you both. God bless you.
You can replace meditation with prayer and “meditating” on the Word of God. Much more effective! 💕
If that works for you, great. They are 2 different things and both are valuable.
@@katmaiholdingllc3963 you are correct. They are two different things.

I am going to tweet this out as Dr. Gottfried is so right in everything she said. Thank you ♥
Carnivore and fasting helps me! ❤ As for my psoriasis on upper neck and foot - the only thing that helps me get rid of flareups is 3 sessions on the solar sunbed!
Castor oil is good for my psoriasis ,you can try!
Dr Mindy Pelz is the expert on this for women. Carnivore is great, but interment fasting is the key.
Maybe you can share more...
I got book on fast like a gal nothing on menopause really...
Can you share more ... also heard not good to fast past 12 hrs due to cortisol
@@joanneclark8256 she has another book, which I bought and read. The menopause reset. Read it, it’’l help you.
Dr mindy is not even a doctor .
@ There are many very talented people who read & research our health. Remember, doctors teachers are Pharma based. This is a bias we can recognize and learn from. The healthiest protocols do not involve drugs. Let food be thy medicine.
Started peri symptoms at 35! My dr dissmissed it as menopause and gave me anxiety meds. Finally found a good dr that did my blood work. She said my levels were post menopausal 😢. Im still having sympotms even on hrt. Im so at a lose. I dont know what to do anymore.
You might have to have your hormones adjusted.
@crh251 my dr doesnt believe in checking hormones over again. She just wants me to increase the dosage to see how i feel
@@Jcsmile06 , a lot of doctors do that. Mine does too. She goes on how I feel. I have another doctor who checked my levels. If you’re having anxiety, I would have your doctor go up in dosage. Are you on progesterone too?
@crh251 i have increased my estrogen and my breast started to hurt. So i backed down and yes i take progesterone
@crh251 i tried to increase my progesterone too at another time. but my joints started to hurt and my vagina got dry. Not sure of thats normal. But once I went back to my regular dose. Those feelings went away
I never trust doctors since then, I don’t like taking meds, vitamins. I always help myself with alternative homemade meds if I feel something in my body. I don’t like going to the doctor. They are useless. And now I train my kids how to watch what they’re eating to be healthy. Not to eat school free food. They could sometimes but not everyday coz they serve junk. I’ll make sure they eat protein and good fats before eating fruits or a little chips once in awhile. ❤
More power to you to you
Same here ....I trust Barbara O'Neill over medical doctors. Bio identical hormones being dished out. What are the long term effects of these?
I totally agree with the meditation and conscious breathing exercises. Since teenage years I experience similar to menopause symptoms due to childhood trauma. So through menopause years I just kept doing exercising, meditation 24/7 it helped me to activate and balance my autonomic system (more Parasympathetic activity) so for me came and went without a significant impact in my life. Very great full for that 🙏
Absolutely FANTASTIC TH-cam post, thank YOU !
Thank you Sara Gottlieb! I help women get through hormonal changes using your protocol.I help women with a persoanalized lifestyle changes with wonderful results. Thank you!
I have listened to so many podcasts on menopause and not one single host has ever asked "What blood tests are required before the correct doses of estrogen, progesterone, testosterone,.. are prescribed for the patient?"
Hormones are so up n down everyday. It’s more diagnosed from symptoms and trial n error
Wow! This was mind blowing! I seriously thought that I was just crazy with everything that was happening to me. But it was all because of menopause.
Great discussion - patriarchy ball and chain - so important and hate brain fog and @Sara I love the haircut you rock! ❤
Just WOW - this interview gives so much to think about. Thank you!
I’ve so enjoyed this informative video! I’m 49 and my body has completely changed.
PS there was an ad about every 2 minutes it was really hard going
Right? Ugh. Why so many ads?
I know his videos are the worst out of all the Drs I follow and listen to. Money.
Unbelievably great topic and great interviewee
Wonderful conversation! Thank you🙏🏻❤️
What you’ve described is me to a tee.
Dr bar at Taylor says they don’t .
DIM find at Health Store. It's bunch of cruciferous vegetables
@@crh251 meningiomas (brain tumor) include exposure to radiation, prolonged use of certain hormones ( including flactuation of estrogen Nd progesterone) some genetic disorders (e.g., neurofibromatosis)
It happened to my mother .. and it was after she got off hormone replacement therapy abruptly
It happens with hormone fluctuations... if a young woman is getting on and off birth control or just has a problem with her hormones naturally.. it can happen.
So you can't lay 100% of your well being on them only.

not for me
Yeah I’m not sure if I’m adjusting from late in life baby and two years breastfeeding or early menopause
Balance is the key
I had EVERY one of those symptoms. And was prescribed antidepressants- I said I’m depressed because I’m not sleeping and not sleeping leads to not exercising which led to low serotonin. The low libido got my husband to asking his friends for help and that how I finally found a doctor who performed pellet therapy. It still didn’t help me sleep or the low libido 😅 but it helped with a lot of the other symptoms.
She’s an amazing doctor
I’m loving your channel. Could you list the discussion topic for each chapter instead of just 1, 2, 3…so we can easily scan and share?
What do you do when you don’t have the money to pay for these tests and to pay for a functional medicine doctor out of pocket???
I have fibromyalgia and only work part time, because of my chronic pain and fatigue. I just barely make ends meet.😢
Me too for reall!!😢
If you can only do one thing for fibromyalgia get on probiotic that doesn't break down in the gut.
Take enzymes, eat organic as much as you can especially coffee or cut it out completely. See an acupuncturist in a community setting they are usually sliding scale. Your blood is too sticky. Acupuncture will help your blood move.
The key to finding a functional medicine doctor is to find a medical doctor who practices functional medicine. They exist, but you have to search for one. That way your insurance covers it.
Ulta labs has some cheap tests. 20% off .
I’m 33, no children and I feel like these symptoms have begun for me since 29 and worsen now at this age …. I need to reverse the cycle
This is exactly what my GP did to me as well… Try to give me an SSRI and birth control…
I went on cycle, smart, and all the lump in my breast went away, and my region PMS went away
He then refused to check my testosterone, so I went to a functional doctor and had a full panel… Turns out I had rock-bottom low testosterone like I thought
I went on bio, identical, hormones, and put an end to a two-year chronic fatigue situation. That was so awful.
We have to advocate for ourselves! We have to do more than go to the regular doctor… They won’t do anything other than write prescriptions. I love this type of contact is so important for us.
Such a wonderful and valuable conversation! Thank you so much! 💙

and if you can't afford continuous CGM, you can get an inexpensive glucometer at CVS. I've tested them all and honestly one is more accurate than the CGM that needs to be calibrated
I want to prepare for this. I’m now 31, never get fat like what others experiencing. 97lbs as of now. I used to be 105 lbs when I started this healthy living. I want to gain my old weights but in a healthy way of eating ❤to be healthy before my 40s❤
Yeah, good luck with that 😂
Just turned 31 and I'm opposite. My period stopped 2 years ago and I gained 80lbs. It feels so hopeless.
I was thin my entire life until perimenopause. I then put on 30 pounds pretty quickly.
This is a FANTASTIC video!! Thank you!! 👍🏻
Finally real information for people who don’t want to take hrt❤
Thats sad to hear. Have you tried intermittent fasting? (Dr Mindy Pelz has a book and youtube videos addressing women your age as well)
@@Purvaja21 I do IF everyday usually 16/8, some times longer.
Did you get enough fat?
