  • Battling belly fat, navigating sleep disruptions, managing stress, and grappling with hormonal fluctuations become paramount concerns for women stepping into their late 30s and 40s. In the complex terrain of perimenopause and menopause, many brave through these challenges without a roadmap to clarity or actionable steps.
Today’s guest, Dr. Taz Bhatia, is on a mission to change this. Her goal is to transform the narrative around how women approach this stage of life and empower them to thrive during these changes.
Today on The Dhru Purohit Podcast, Dhru sits down with board-certified physician Dr. Taz Bhatia to discuss hormonal shifts women face as they head into their 40s. Dr. Taz shares the five patterns women face that lead to changes in body composition, the challenges that come with hormonal imbalances, and the damaging lifestyle habits that can exacerbate these challenges. She also discusses the key reasons women may feel constantly hungry and how fasting can be damaging for a woman already under chronic stress. Dr. Taz gives us her hot takes on the social media trends that ignore the fundamentals and her thoughts on alcohol and GLP-1 pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Tasneem Bhatia, commonly known as Dr. Taz, is a board-certified physician specializing in integrative and emergency medicine, pediatrics, and prevention, with expertise in women’s health, weight loss, and nutrition. She is the author of Super Woman Rx, What Doctors Eat, The 21-Day Belly Fix and the host of RadioMD’s The Dr. Taz Show: The Super Woman’s Whole Health Fix podcast. Plus lack of healthy choices. I don't live in city anymore and if you don't grow your own you don't have it.

This lady is the real deal - such great info. Discovered her clinic in Atlanta and have felt almost immediate improvements since making the tweaks suggested by her NP. I wish every doctor took this holistic approach to women’s health.

She listed everything single thing I need to work on. Been lifting for over a year and a half now but I haven't been getting good sleep on a consistent basis so it's definitely hindered me and my cycle has been very inconsistent. She's just confirmed a lot that I've know I need to work on and new things that I will be incorporating into my routine! Thank you for this gem of a podcast, it will be extremely beneficial for me and I'm still in my early 30s.

Two things....stress and carbs..but its important to acknowledge that stress is both conscious and unconscious...by way of ancestral/childhood trauma.

Can you explain alternative fasting? 24 hours fast? I’m currently doing 3 day x twice monthly to regulate my hormone.

I'm in the middle of this conversation and when it's over I'll click the link to her channel! But I'm writing because of what she says about Ozempic. I'm 100% in agreement with her, that if one has an insignificant amount of weight to lose, then it's definitely not for them. However, what about these doctors who prescribe this medication just for weight loss? Wasn't Ozempic originally designed for diabetics? Honestly, doctors who prescribe to non-diabetics should be under review.

Although the upload is primarily women focused, I still found it interesting and would recommend it, for all to watch.
I lost 39 lbs / 18 kgs doing OMAD, which compromised of fat at apx 50% and protein and carbs at 25% each.
Currently doing 2MAD as a minimum.
That said, so easy to slip into doing OMAD without much if any effort.
Thank you for uploading and sharing.

I'm going through something so similar now. I'm 32, I've gained around a stone in the last year and NOTHING I usually do to lose weight is working (exercise, counting calories, fasting). The weight is also primarily on my hips and waist and nowhere else. I'm still a "healthy weight" but I'm worried it won't stay that way for long. They have also found Fibroids in the wall of my uterus. I feel like my health has declined rapidly so fast and i don't know what to do with it.
