How to Make Pumpernickel Bread

  • In this week's video I experiment with making homemade pumpernickel bread. It was super easy, and it came out excellent. This bread has some interesting ingredients, but it is worth the effort of tracking them down. Especially because it does not have the chemicals and weird stuff that is in shelf-stable bread.
    Pumpernickel bread is perfect for toast and sandwiches of all kinds.

    The List:
    1 Cup Pumpernickel Flour
    2 1/4 Cups All-Purpose Flour
    1/4 Cup Potato Flour
    2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
    2 Tbsp Minced Dried Onions
    1 1/2 tsp Salt
    1 Tbsp Black Cocoa
    2 tsp Instant Yeast
    1 1/2 Cups Lukewarm Water
    1 Tbsp Olive Oil
    2 Egg Whites
    1 Tbsp Sesame Seeds
    Bake at 425 Degrees for 25 Minutes.
