Two of the unsung heroes of the UK drum world!
Wooooooow this is amazing. They have lived the modern dream to make their art the way they want it. Timeless
The real trick is to be able to make a living making “their art they want it”.
Budgie looks so joyful when he plays!
I've always been a big fan of Budgie's drumming style. Glad to see he's happy and still at the top of his game.
I saw budgie with The Creatures at the Bowery Ballroom in 98. He still has it, beauty and grace.
It´s fabulous to see the expression of hapiness and pleasure on Budgie's face...
After all these years, the kings are back to the kingdom, and we the devotees with an open heart to venerate them.
The world needs more bands with two drummers. This is like a dream come true.
What a great surprise! Always thought Budgie was an amazing drummer but didn't know he was such a character too, hahaha. Loved the energy! Great job, guys ❤!
Legendary! I've seen Lol with the Cure live 3 times..Absolutely memorable concerts! And still, more than 20 years later, great vibrations! Thank you so much for this KEXP! Greetings from Italy! xoxo
I’ve never seen the Cure, but I saw Siouxsie on the Hyæna tour. But sadly not with Robert. But those two bands are huge influences on me.
@@DavidRavenMoon Aww excellent! Unfortunately I have never seen Siouxsie but I definetely agree on how big the influences of these 2 bands are! 🖤
Was he on all of the albums with the Cure in the 80’s and early 90’s? Huge Cure fan… and I love Budgie as well 💯 and all of his work.
@@williamperri3437 Yes I think so... His drumming, perhaps under-estimated, is a big part of the Cure's sound in my modest opinion.
@@williamperri3437 he was up until Disintegration, although credited he does not actually appear on the album.
I love that both of these guys talk just like they look
Captivating! I didn’t know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by this performance. Thanks as always, KEXP 🤙🏻
Budgie's always seemed very happy and expressive. Great drummer. Lol is also a legend in my music world. I'm liking this project.
@kexp
SOOOO STOKED to see this pop up on the channel! 👍👍
Mad props to Kevin Suggs (as usual) for Capturing this performance so incredibly well! And to all the camera ops as well. And, of course, Cheryl is always just THE BEST host.
Cheers!
Good to see Lol back on the drums. His contribution on the first 4 albums is hugely underrated. Faith and Pornography in particular.
Very well said.
Budgie drumming as good as when I saw the Banshee's back in 1983 Albert Hall, credit to these great Musicians, Best wishes to everyone.
The Banshees were a kind of nemesis for me. Going to gigs has always been my favourite pass time and the Banshees one of my favourite bands. But somehow seeing them always went wrong. Things like being too skint, too far away, tickets sold out. Then finally i got to see them in 85 at the Hammersmith odeon. Then about half way through the gig and halfway through my favourite tune, Christine, Siouxsie goes and slips and knackers her knee, ending the gig. After that circumstances came back into play and I never saw them again.
It's the same now with Otoboke Beaver. No matter how hard I try i just haven't managed to see them. And they've played on my birthday 3 times in the last 5 years.
Two of my musical
Hero’s right there. Glad to see them looking so well, smiling and making music.
They are so happy doing this.... Love you Lol + Budgie!!!

Amazing! Love it, so much energy!
The first three songs I ever learned to play on drums were Killing an Arab, 10:15, and Boys Don't Cry by the Cure, a la Lol Tolhurst (right?).
Absolutely.

Looks like a presentation of a new E-drum
Ma’am, YouRperfect❤
Oh man, this must mean that I'm fucking old now.
Listening to this, I now fully understand how Budgie was immensely influencial in the Banshees sound
Colgado de la reina...no para de hablar de ella

Is that shocking? Budgie was the drummer after all.

Faith vs Tinderbox 🥰
Grounding rhythm loop sounds like a GusGus thing…
Very Yep!!
I suppose they are exploring to maximum the concept of a band with a drummer rythm together with a drummer solo. 😊

Lol was great with The Cure
So we're not supposed to know that James Murphy is singing...
No secret at all, he sings a couple on the album
They talk about the guest vocals in the interview at the end, so no, it’s not a secret.
🫶
Why I can't see the singer?
Because there’s no singer in the room lol
They're drumming on sampled material. Thought it was obvious
@@cezaryraczynski2267 silencio! No hay banda!

Is that Kirk Hammet's son on bass? 😀
19:45 Simon Gallup young as always :)

Where is the singer? Are these two old guys doing air bands or something?
@@neilwhitaker6284 there’s different singers and they dont have the money to hire an alternate roster of singers or link up to a video feed with a recording of the singers
😂
Think about it! Don't burst too many braincells 🤣
@@Thomes-Maisling ahh I've discovered an air band enjoyer.

Is this breadfan Budgie? I don't think it is?
No, Siouxsie and the Banshees / The Creatures.
Awful
Absolute joke.
Why are the vocals not live?
This is instrumental Karaoke.
