  • Hull, Georgia teenager Noah Bond's Post-Concussion Syndrome (PCS) included daily headaches, severe memory loss and feelings of isolation. Esther Lovett from Cambridge, Massachusetts missed her entire junior year of high school because her symptoms were so bad. Both Noah and Esther fought through their symptoms courageously, and have made it their mission to help others with PCS. The Concussion Legacy Foundation honored both Noah and Esther with the Resilience Award at the 2017 Concussion Legacy Gala.

I'm a year and a half into my post concussion and have to say videos like these are phenomenally inspiring, not only for reassurance of knowing other people are finding hope but just the idea that there's a newer level of awareness about brain injury. Whilst it's easy to wish certain events in your life unfolded differently, the concept that recovery is a process and not deadline is a mantra we should all live by.

YES! ALL of this! This journey is definitely a process. Last year I could barely walk, now I walk with a rollator and am looking into a mobility scooter. So bit by bit even if there are small victories, there WILL be victories. I used to berate myself all of the time like why didn't you just wait to get the medicine in the morning but when your little one is roasting a fever of 103+ A parent does what they must to get it down. Please PCS warriors don't beat yourself up, it doesn't help. Asking the WHY's don't either. Please from one warrior to another try and make goals and push your focus and energies into crushing them, or at the least meeting those goals. Hugs and stay strong and Safe!

This hits so hard to home. Every symptom they had i still have 2 years after my last one and it sucks. The rollercoaster of emotions non stop, extremely irritable, my short term memory is non existent and i can't sleep worth a damn on top of the depression thats gotten worse. I hope someone from the sports legacy institute sees this. After a lot of concussions and emotional damage i hope i can talk to someone there that knows why these migraines wont stop!!

I feel for you. I’ve had my share of injuries, mostly through sport. But may I suggest a big emphasis on certain vitamins and coping mechanisms.
For brain function and memory, I take Omega-3 supplements (Brand: Aqua Biome 2000mg), and B complex vitamins. Pair that along with some aerobic exercise such as jogging or cycling. As long as it gets the blood pumping which is crucial. And lastly, for bedtime, I take Melatonin supplements (Brand: Olly Sleep Gummies) and Kava Tea.
If you try them, I think they’ll do you good. Of course, consult a doctor before trying anything. God Bless.

Kia Ora from New Zealand...thank you for posting these videos. They are a fantastic resource, especially in this part of the world where we are so way behind in advancing our knowledge and recognition of the consequences of concussions.

I have daily migraines after 4 concussions and diagnosed PCS as well as suspected CTE. I have signed up to donate my brain to your foundation because if I can’t have a cure I hope to help find a cure.

How are you feeling? Few things, start doing excercise, keto diet, use of olive oil, omega 3, bright minds powder, hyper Baric oxygen therapy, positive affirmations, be close to your family and GOD. There is no way god can’t heal you, I don’t believe in that. Just believe in yourself, start doing these thing for a year. God is gonna heal you, there is no way god can’t heal you. Be grateful for everything you got and he will show you his magic. Trust me you will be good, just be positive even when things are just going wrong for you.
