    Would love one of these kits. In pearl wrap. Doesn't matter if Bass drum has tom mount....to me. Some people get hung up on silly stuff. These kits are amazing.

    Hi Sonor Drum Tube,I thank you for your great video posting.
    Do you have a Tom mount on the BASS DRUM of Vintage Series?

      volvo24000 Currently, all Vintage Series Bass Drums come without mount but we are looking into this and keep everyone posted on the progress. Thanks!

    cool!
    I love the concept of round bearing edges trimming off unwanted overtones and generating more of a woody sound!
    From the little i know... vintage 50s & 60s drums with reinforcement rings have a combined edge thickness (shell + ring) of 0.3 - 0.5 inches. This thickness allows for a large rounded edge radius and therefore more head to shell contact.
    Consider a modern ply shell without re-rings that is not extra thin, but medium-thin to med-thick 0.2 - 0.3 inches (5.0 - 7.6 mm)... Knowing the rounded edge radius will be smaller with slightly reduced head to shell contact than drums with re-rings... will these smaller rounded bearing edges still control the overtones & warm up the sound without reinforcement rings?
    Does a snare drum with rounded edges truly lack any of the positive qualities associated with angled edge snare drums?

      Andy Pruyn One of the main drawbacks is that rounded bearing edges don’t resonate as fully as more modern ones, but that’s part of what you’re going for if you’re looking for a “vintage” sound.

    die cast hoops?

    • @SonorDrumTube
      @SonorDrumTube  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      edward kriege No Die Cast hoops - hoops are called "Superprofil" and are a remodeled version of the ones used in the 1950s. 2.3mm steel with a different shape - see www.sonor.com/news/product-news-2015-sonor-vintage-series/ for more details!

    My phonics have very similar characteristics. I have to say, I've yet to lift a Sonor drum that is considered "light". They sure "over-engineer" the shells and hardware.

    Funny that you used a Mana track to show off your drums when Alex plays dw drums.

    Why no bass drum tom mount? that is just dumb. Some people say it is because of resonance but that is rubbish because most drummers muffle the bass anyway. Sonor always made the best bass tom mounts. If I bought a vintage series could I have one installed?

    • @SuperFlammaster
      @SuperFlammaster 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Brian Carroll please answer. why no bass mount for toms?
