+Евгени Найденов Rick, seems one of those guys, who has no ego, and just want's to share some awesome riffs. I love these types of guitarists, as they are humble and have so much teach. My band mate asks,"Whoa! That's a new one, where'd you learn it?" I reply,"Rick! Rick Graham!" My point is, it's a newer video and already 558 likes, so that's 558 people, as of now, who learned something cool, from this video.
Hi Rick! Thanks for little snippets of videos like this. I'm nowhere near your playing technique but you inspire me to keep trying. Greetings from the Philippines!
I'm a guitar player myself and this dude is one guy and a handful of others that no matter how many times I watch the video I'm still blown off my chair at the sheer quickness, speed and percisine and the housekeeping (played clean) and technical skills and all around knowledge of different styles and the Level they are at through practice that Master Guitar Players have accomplished is and always will be impressive and just plain kick ass too listen too and watch 👍👍👍
you and your Ibanez are definitely on another level than me and my Ibanez. I know you probably don't think much of it, because its where you're at, like me when most people say I'm excellent and all that....but, from one dedicated player to another, you are entirely masterful in your craft. I started at 11, I'm 22 now. I can't even imagine the day that I will be able to pull that off as perfectly as you did. congratulations man. you kick ass.
Thanks for the lesson, Rick, and your recent sequence advice! I didn't tackle this whole sequence, but got one great chunk that I extrapolated, the diminished ascending one. The advice to use the 2nd finger to shift was the key! I shortened it (not having 24 frets) and play it fingerstyle, with slurs. Then I did the same with whole tone intervals, great fun! I needed this advice, as I like sequences and patterns, but get lazy practicing them. I also don't want to play really long sequences, as they begin to sound mechanical, but used sparingly and with other concepts they're fantastic! Thanks!!
what a lick! this will take some doing to get down... lol and that hammering on from nowhere going down the arpeggios, I knew I wasn't alone! I always beat myself up because I do that when descending in an arpeggio or some picking patterns instead of picking everything lol
I like the way you play and you know how to explain each mode you play, I'm also a guitarist, but I'm just starting with my channel uploading my own projects. Cheers...
when i started playing way back in the day, tabs werent around. so i had to listen rewind listen rewind etc. tabs are wonderful if youre stuck. but i have found tabs can be incorrect. for the TABS people out there instead if looking at numbers listen to this exercise and figure out the tabs on your own. i guarantee you it is much rewarding AND you will be better player for having done it.
holy shit your playing never ceases to amaze me rick, god damn lol wish i could economy pick like that. also, loving that red rg you have, didn't they only make a handfull of that model? it's a beauty
brilliant!!!! hey rick can you make a video on how to set up the truss rod, neck relief ? i hear and see such different opinions on this matter, i'd appreciate your help
thats because lane used alot of "hammer on's from nowhere" .......its definetely an accuracy thing,..but my playing has got alot better since discovering this,...rick is getting great at it!
I know it's an old video, but I just have to say that goddamn this lick is fun to play. I got tenosynovitis to my right hand from practicing it, but now I'm back with a healthy hand and I'm going to try to play it as fast as shown on the video.
I hear Tony McAlpine myself being more familiar with his work. Many reference Jason Becker and I can also understand that as well. Whom ever is your neo-classic God of shred, Satriani, Malmsteen,et al. I think all those guys have used this arpeggio in their songs at one time or another. Great lesson on how-to Rick. To add: I think the right hand technique is equally important to get right to make it all work smoothly.
Silvercordband True , I just haven't applied them .Pawned star both guitars my acoustic! twice week I play..But your comment made me think (Pentatonic) pattern". doesn't feel like its rolling smooth? My Fingering sucks I hate guitar!
Silvercordband I play Practice maybe twice week 50s crust some 60s beach boys A guitar made in china with cat gut strings. i can eat drink (Rum coke, tequilia Vodka with cranberry juice brandy) im laughing l make a lil cash just cause people appreciate whatever..i never finish songs.. At the moment octave displacement is more important than songs.. They think finger exercise?..laughin! haha. look cool though
Normally a note is already ringing when doing a hammer on. But you can just strike the fretboard with a finger and it'll sound - hammering from nowhere. Arguaby it's not a hammer on depending on your definition.
Awesome job Rick! But could you maybe play this on the Strat too with 22 frets ? Im stuck with one guitar only here in Japan and its a 22 fret strat :) Matt Keep em vids coming ! !
i would have to start at a beginner level although i consider myself a intermediate player. if you could would you please show us where you started to play.
Holy shit you played that guitar so hard that it changed colour
Luke Wren 😂
yeah man its one of those paint jobs where it changes colour the hotter it gets :D
playNsleep just like those hot wheels cars
Luke Wren zrg
It’s blushing
When he says "will need lots of practice" he means DEDICATE YOUR WHOLE LIFE TO THIS LICK CUZ IS FUCKING INSANE lol
Has science gone too far?!?!?!
Man I can't wait for Rick's channel to explode and go all big. You're an amazing guitarist, keep it up!!!

He does but who doesn't? And he amongst all deserves to have a pushy attitude (which he very rarely demonstrates if he does at all) :D
Yeah, he's only in the 6 figures for views. Not bad, but wouldn't it be nice if we could get it up to 8?
Евгени Найденов well i think 120k is big, atleast in the guitar community
Simple scaling yet unbelievable technique and dexterity. Truly amazing.
Very nice, Rick. unlike all too many shredders, you retain tons of melody. Some of the best video lessons on youtube. Thank you so much.
I'd sell a kidney for Rick's right hand technique. So fluid and efficient.
His right hand is easy to get down once you get the hang of economy picking and legato. The left hand is where all the magic happens.
left brain for left hand
Yeah his fretting hand barley comes off the board. So efficient and ideal.
wow man. what an awesome video. im not even a shred guy but youre really clear and concise. cool lick too
Open minded good comment.
Danny Hood lol

So awesome to see how much work goes into making instruments with love and passion, good on you guys, so inspiring, keep on.
Sounds alot like something Jason Becker would've written!
+Boob Wiley ever heard Serrana?
Michael Romeo
komonology nah Jason Becker,
Herrdesrings Shawn Lane?
Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement... Long live Becker though!
So brilliant so accurate so much fun to listen to and play ... Ridiculous Rick the Graham master of Shredulation!!!
OMG fluid and clear as hell man!!!!
That's Rick. Makes the ridiculous look easy, every time.
This guy play so softly and clean
Wonderful sequence, Rick! Thanks for sharing. Very generous of you to put this nifty little creature out there.

this is definitely my favorite arpeggio sequence aswel now, thnx Rick 👌
I was just watching this and wondering why you don't have 20 million subs... Keep rocking out!
Rick, I don't even know how that is humanly possible. Your fingers are from a different dimension.
hold my beer..
Adrian Katzenstein holds beer...
Adrian Katzenstein it's going to take a while, I guess. Lol
I think he fainted
it's been 2years.

Rick, you are a God when it comes to playing arpeggios
I didn’t know you played guitar for Infant Annihilator
this is definitely my favorite arpeggio sequence aswel now, thnx Rick$
Amazing, fluid, clean and fast.
what a lick! this will take some doing to get down... lol and that hammering on from nowhere going down the arpeggios, I knew I wasn't alone! I always beat myself up because I do that when descending in an arpeggio or some picking patterns instead of picking everything lol
awesome sound!
This dude is awesome.
I would think you are probably the best unknown shredder on YT
Amazing sequence Rick, keep up the great work!
Wow great lesson
this is definitely my favorite arpeggio sequence aswel now, thnx Rick
Dude how many times do you want to say this
+Scott Thomson He just wanted to make sure everyone knew
I like the way you play and you know how to explain each mode you play, I'm also a guitarist, but I'm just starting with my channel uploading my own projects. Cheers...

+Rick Graham Dude thank you so much for this lesson. Big fan here!
Amazing. Thanks.
Holy Moly... Nice one!
That Em finish is the icing for sure.
I randomly saw this video now I'm a subscriber. I like this riff it sounds like malmsteen to me.
Insaaaaaannneeeeee💯😍
Very good
Really cool.
What a stud
love the intro
Sick guitar, sick playing, sich performance, sick...sick...(envy)
I naturally discovered this scale recently. Funny to see this video in my suggestions
Many thanks
Shit I only have a guitar with 22 frets
This guy has some skills😮
holy shit your playing never ceases to amaze me rick, god damn lol wish i could economy pick like that. also, loving that red rg you have, didn't they only make a handfull of that model? it's a beauty
0:12 that hit made something explode somewhere in the world
Learning alot
Great lesson rick very creative great style i always wanted to know if you use a noise gate
brilliant!!!! hey rick can you make a video on how to set up the truss rod, neck relief ? i hear and see such different opinions on this matter, i'd appreciate your help
that right hand picking pattern, not alternating when changing strings, that is so hard for me to replicate!
It's called economy picking, but personally for me alternate picking is better
OMFG that was really cool
this is incredible, luv this, does it have tabs ?
genial!!!!
Sound so evil, love your tone!
wowsers!
godlike
great
thanksssss
sounds very shawn lane like~ I love it
thats because lane used alot of "hammer on's from nowhere" .......its definetely an accuracy thing,..but my playing has got alot better since discovering this,...rick is getting great at it!
J ' ADORE ! ! ! ! !! :- ]
Hammering from nowhere...
Your fingers just magically appear :D
Damn hard
Hi from Chile, Please tell me what strings and sizes do you use...
For bass I got Scott for guitar I got Rick.
Theories wise.
Rick. i love your 'hammer-on from nowhere' approach. But what effects do you use to get that sound and that tone ??! Reverb?? Delay??
I think he uses axe affects and he's definitely using a bit of delay and maybe some reverb
2:09
Did I just go back in time and start playing Zelda on my Gameboy again?
Sir what kind of picking technique are you playing? Its so impressive you use your arm and your finger too
Que foda mano slk
ya ya ever heard inside the fire? similar progression. really dig this one tho
Nice
I know it's an old video, but I just have to say that goddamn this lick is fun to play.
I got tenosynovitis to my right hand from practicing it, but now I'm back with a healthy hand and I'm going to try to play it as fast as shown on the video.
Pls a tab so that I don't have to pauze for the frets
try to find the notes by ear, it's so important to recognize sounds without any tab...
100k subs soon

How to breathe by Rick Grahm:
Schhhhhh
my head! man do you have any tabs?
hot damn!!
I love these patterns. I need to figure this diminished pattern with blues scale though. A way
Why?? because the pattern feels good and sounds killer at warped speed .. You can apply to other scales.
Silvercordband True , I just haven't applied them .Pawned star both guitars my acoustic! twice week I play..But your comment made me think (Pentatonic) pattern". doesn't feel like its rolling smooth? My Fingering sucks I hate guitar!
Silvercordband I play Practice maybe twice week 50s crust some 60s beach boys A guitar made in china with cat gut strings. i can eat drink (Rum coke, tequilia Vodka with cranberry juice brandy) im laughing l make a lil cash just cause people

They think finger exercise?..laughin! haha. look cool though
You can play most of it over the 5 dominant 7 Chord turn around
Put the tab up on the screen when you talk mate to help us learn it easier.
Thanks.
Andrew Watt i thought the same 😢
What the fuck is hammering from nowhere!
Normally a note is already ringing when doing a hammer on. But you can just strike the fretboard with a finger and it'll sound - hammering from nowhere. Arguaby it's not a hammer on depending on your definition.
Thanks dude!
when you hammer on to a string but don't already have a finger playing a note on that string....
Awesome job Rick! But could you maybe play this on the Strat too with 22 frets ? Im stuck with one guitar only here in Japan and its a 22 fret strat :) Matt Keep em vids coming ! !
+Lavietto Time for an upgrade my friend.
+Lavietto Dude, you're in Japan, the freaking home of Ibanez........
Yeah but im also Lefty unfortunately!
+Lavietto Try to use a thimble for them high notes
+Lavietto play it a step down, or 3 frets down, and hammer on the 19th fret on the high e instead of the 23rd, then tap the 20th fret.
i would have to start at a beginner level although i consider myself a intermediate player. if you could would you please show us where you started to play.
Somebody give this man a speeding ticket! Come on Rick, you're making all the mere mortals look bad, ;)
What pu's are in that Ibanez RG with the killer binding? I am going to guess a Dimarzio Breed in the bridge and a Air norton neck?
