16:26 NOA! When I was about 12 years old, I sprayed a tester of this in a store and couldn't believe my nose. It was the most wonderful scent I'd ever experienced. I saved up my babysitting money and majorly SPLURGED on a little bottle for myself. Unfortunately a girl who claimed to be my friend stole it from me just months later. I was heartbroken, but didn't have the heart to confront her. I have thought about "Noa" from time to time over the years, but couldn't remember the name. I'm now facing 40 years old, and clicked on this video on a hope and and prayer that you might have it in your list, and BAM there it is! I'm thrilled! I immediately tracked it down and ordered myself a bottle. It will be interesting to see if it still strikes me as special a scent as it did all those many many years ago! THANK YOU!
The 90’s were a fantastic time for perfume. I began to become interested in perfume in the 1970’s when I was a teen/young woman. The moment I smelled Poison it became an obsession with me. Along with Poison I was in love with Estée Lauder’s Spellbound in the 90’s too. I still love both of them and I’ve added Tresor and Chanel No. 5 Leau to my favorites list. I had the original Lolita Lempicka and enjoyed it. It was such a beautiful bottle too. Calvin Klein’s Escape is one I loved in the original formula but it has been changed drastically and I no longer care for it. Such a shame really. Lovely video, thank you.
Poison and SpellBound really have a lot in common if you ask me. I agree that Escape is not what it used to be and I don’t really care for aquatic scents either so I’m glad I didn’t blind buy. Thank you so much for sharing your fragrance memories with us today. 🧡
I can confirm what your mum said about Cabotine, I used to wear it in the 90s and my grandma used to wear Tendre Poison. I only just noticed it a week ago when I re-organised my vintage perfumes, and they are very similar. There are some differences but I wouldn't blame anyone who thought they were the same fragrance. I don't know about the current version of Cabotine because I've only got both in the original version, the liquid is now dark brown, still smells great
Have this on today! Been wearing it as my cold weather fragrance since Jr high!! love the dry down phase of sung, so pretty. o.g. aqua di gio for warmer weather, also a 90's classic is my other fave.
I love your videos, and your voice is so soft and calming. Trésor is my all time favourite fragrance and I am wearing it everyday. I wore Organza in the past, definitely one of the best 90s scents.
I remember at that time owning, and thoroughly enjoying wearing, Gucci Rush, Dior Dolce Vita, as well as Gucci Envy and Lancome Miracle, which weren’t mentioned but were very popular at the time. Such a delightful video, thank you, and your descriptions were excellent.
They were such classic fragrances! I used to feel so happy when I was wearing both Rush and Envy. I got a lot of compliments when I was wearing Envy too!
Well, now I am confused. I was certain Gucci discontinued Rush, but after reading your comment I went on to Fragrantica and read a Review of the fragrance dated 6 January 2025, and the Reviewer said she had thought the fragrance had been discontinued but she had found it and bought it again for nostalgic purposes. So now I wonder if Gucci have brought it back? I personally haven’t seen the fragrance for years. Honestly, I just don’t know.🤷♀️
Ah, Venezia, my beloved! After spending a lot of money chasing down authentic discontinued bottles, they just eventually started smelling off, unfortunately. I have never found a decent ‘dupe’ and just don’t understand why it was ever discontinued. Thank you for this beautiful nostalgic journey…
Chopard Casmir. I remember when it launched! None of us behind the counter had ever experienced anything with that much vanilla present! I wondered at the time why we had not smelled vanilla in many other fragrances before, as the closest to it was Shalimar, which has that amazing warm vanilla dry down. I am seriously considering buying a bottle of Casmir again, as I'm still on my perfume nostalgia tour! Great video as always Luke!
I remember always matching my outfit to my fragrance… And CASMIR was one I always wore when I was wearing very soft, body conscious knits in cream and pastel colours.
I went through a little bottle of casmir recently and have just ordered again. Lots of lovely mentions and a trip down 90s memory lane. Thank you Luke!
Do you have a current formulation? How it performs? I bought Tresor calssic hecause I was missing it so much but the projection and longevity are far far away from what it used to be. And this is making me so sad because I love it so much and I wish it was as strong as it used to be…
So many people adore Hypnotic Poison, but I've never even tried it, although I worked behind the counter for Dior at a dept store. The last one they had come out with before I left was Tendre Poison. I would love to try Hypnotic Poison!
Hi Luke!😊 I have a little more than half of the scents you featured in today’s video. My favorite is Dior Hypnotic Poison, but I anticipate trying more of those missing in my collection in the future😁 Slow and steady. 😊 Thank you for another great video. 💛💛
Hi Leah! HP for life, right? 😉 I don’t think there’s a single fragrance you wouldn’t like in this video. No green chypres, coconut, aquatics… Thanks for stopping by today. 🧡
Gucci Rush back in 2000 was a beast. One spray and you’d be smelled by people in the same block 😂. I still think it’s a gorgeous and unique scent today. Cabotine de Gres is such a beautiful scent, almost like a fresh shower smell. Organza is simply gorgeous, too. Lots of memorable scents from that era.
My appreciation for fragrances included Venezzia, Champagne, and Spellbound, with the black rectangular bottle of Spellbound being part of my collection. Additionally, Revlon's Unforgettable was another scent I cherished. Throughout the 90s, I possessed numerous fragrances that ranged from budget-friendly to high-end. However, Avon, Far Away, stood out as my favorite, as it had a remarkable ability to captivate men's attention when I wore it.
What a great video! Organza reminds me of my childhood a lot. Hypnotic Poison is amazing and has never dated. I agree, the 90’s vanillas are so good ❤️
My mother wore Trésor and I absolutely adored it. I love Sophia Grojsman fragrances...she also did Christian Lacroix EDP in 1999, which is one of my faves of hers. Loved the video!
Lovely video as always, thank you for sharing! Classique is so deeply 90s to me. I was a 90s kid so a lot of my first perfume memories stem from there and Classique is one. My aunt always wore it and I was so enamored by the bottle which I found (and still find) quite beautiful.
That’s amazing! The bottle is a nod to Gaultier’s famous corsets, and I too find it beautiful, not vulgar like for example KK and Billie Eilish bottles come to mind, but that’s just my opinion. Thanks for watching. 🧡
Issey Miyake was very good. I discovered L’Artisan fragrances in the 90’s, still some of my favorite scents. I also loved Calyx, I worked at a Prescriptives counter and wore it regularly.
Yes I remember Yvresse! Such an ineresting fragrance. Sort of reminds me of stale beer, but in a good way. 🤣😂🤣 I never got my hands on a bottle but would love to have one now!!
That was so fun! Of course I have minis of vintage Tresor and Yvresse. Plus original Lolita Lempicka EDT, my fav version. I wear this one every winter. Many thanks, Luke!❤️🌹
I just recently bought Diamonds and Emeralds. I am so happy with that purchase. I had a mini bottle to experience it, and immediately bought the 100ml bottle, which of course is ridiculously inexpensive, but the fragrance is so beautiful. 😍
Some of the others I have that you’ve shown here are; Hypnotic Poison (great bedtime scent) Tresor (lovely classic for my collection ) Organza (love this warm scent) Dune (hard to describe - you just have to experience this one) Casmir (such a soft cosy, without being sickly sweet ) Lolita Lempika (made me appreciate, licorice…lol) Noa (… another hard to describe but great musky coffee scent) Cabotine (not what I was expecting, but so much more)
Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden was a signature scent for me, for a long time. 😊 I really liked that 90’s scent! I find it not as interesting now, but love it for nostalgic reasons.
This was such a good idea, Luke. I love it when you do your 90s fragrances, since I have so many of the same and I can experience the scents as you’re talking about them. 😊😄
I never knew that Chopard Wish was a Nathalie Lorson creation! Wow she is prolific! I’m loving your 90’s collection so much! I still have several featured in this video, some have gone but I want to replace Classique, it’s so nostalgic for me. Fantastic video as always-thank you for sharing your fragrances with us. 💕
Hi Betty! I wonder what else I own from her. We need to talk about the perfumers behind our favourite perfumes more often. Thank you for stopping by. 🧡
I really enjoy these videos, it brings back so much nostalgia , me & my mum have owned quiet a few of these fragrances, Hypnotic Poison & Dolce Vita to me are the best Dior ever, Tocade was the first fragrance I had as a young teen that made me fall in love with scents & perfumery in general ❤ Thankyou for your wonderful videos, i am definetly a fan
My favorite is Tresor...It used to be my signature in my twenties and I actually bought a small bottle now because I don't why I craved for it. I wrote you another comment at your video with Tresor about the bottle without inscription and I actually received the reply from Lancome confirming that the current bottles have no inscription on them since 2023 . Is not something for good but they don't know yet when the bottles with inscription will be back. I also love Cabotine and is true it smells exactly like Tendre Poison. Actually from all the ones you mentioned the current version of Cabotine remaines the strongest one with enormous longevity and sillage. The rest of them are literally murdered unfortunately...😟
Yes, I remember. Thank you for the update. Oh no, so they did go cheap on us. That logo is Trésor’s signature sign. My bottle must be pre-2023. I bought it from a local department store that also has a website. It was discounted so they’re probably getting rid of their old stock. I’ve worn Cabotine a couple of times since September, and I must agree that it’s a beast. 🧡
@@itsmememe3489 the smell is the same I don t feel any difference. Is sooo addictive. But unfortunately the sillage and longevity are almost non existent 😥 even a supermarket cheap scent lasts longer I wish so much they redo it as it used to be…
Thanks great video. I love 90s scents and want to get some of those mentioned I haven't yet tried in your list. I've also got Far Away and notice the same: it's beautiful in the air but for such a strong performer doesn't really work on my skin either. Maroussia I also like - don't love - but oh my gosh it smelled like a million dollars on my daughter's skin.
That really makes me sad because it smells great in the air, and I wish I could wear it. Maroussia is a unique scent, and I need to give it a full wear when it gets warmer. Thank you for commenting. 🙂✨
This makes me soooooo nostalgic. Was so young then. My very first perfume love was Obsession...oh, I was obsessed with it. Also wore NoaNoa by Otto Kern, Venezia and Loulou :-)
I think the 80s, 90s and early 2000s are my favorite time for perfumes. I'm exhausted by all the sticky sweet gourmands now. I just want us to go back here.
Hi Luke, it is such a treat to view this video. I have an interest in vintage fragrances. Two of my favorites is Trueste by Tiffany and Amarige by Givenchy. Thanks for sharing ❤
@ in Ireland they shut down the body shops last year :( I was away in Malta recently and was delighted to find a body shop and missed the experience too , bought the oil it’s much nicer than the spray . I’ll watch out for your videos great memories
Ahhhh Chopard Wish!!! I just bought it and for me, it reminds me of the Evil Queen from Snow White. Just a viper of a fragrance, beautiful but SCARY!!!😁😁😁
@@EauDeMichele No Michelle! Don't do it! If you sold it before then there must have been a reason! It's intoxicatingly strong for me. I only plan to wear mine on Halloween or when I have to put on a 'boss lady' facade! I do love and respect it, but I don't know if I plan to wear it much. It will look so cool on my shelf though, when I find room for it.
I come back just to say that out of curiosity I checked the release dates for both Cabotine and Tendre Poison. Cabotine was released in 1990 while TP in 1994. Therefore I strongly believe that Dior made somehow a more elevated “dupe” after Cabotine. Probably that is why it was discontinued (is just my assumption) but I supose that even back in time people could start to notice the strong resemblance between the 2. Nowadays is nothing unusual for a house to copy another house perfume (see La vie est belle by Lancome copy of Flowerbomb by Victor&Rolf) but back in time I guess it was not very ok and correct.
Hi there. I was aware of that. The resemblance might be coincidental since a lot of these powerhouse floral fragrances, with everything but the kitchen sink in them, tend to smell quite similar. However, I think it's possible that Dior copied Cabotine because they are extremely similar. It's interesting to consider. I'm amazed that something as affordable as Cabotine can smell so nice and luxurious. I'm glad I don't need to buy Tendre Poison and pay hundreds for a vintage bottle when I have this. 💚
I’m so waiting to see if you have the original Body Shop vanilla oil from 1991. It was the best vanilla ever made! There will never be another scent like it, I have searched since they discontinued it😔 I then wore Angel by Mugler as my signature scent. I still have the first bottle.
Not to encourage you to buy another perfume 😂. However, have you tried Boucheron by Boucheron? It is an late 80's perfume and it smells incredible. I think you would like it.
@@talktothehandreviews Bijan is the scent that my sister’s daughters most recognize as a ‘mom-scent’ because she wore it so much when they were young.
Tresor is so violet heavy. I’m a fanatic of 90s violet-hiris-sandal perfumes. Because every one was talking about peaches and roses, I have tried it so late.
Yes, you’re exactly right. In my opinion it’s a peach/rose scent but also equally powdery. When I first tried it, that was all I could smell - cosmetic powder. 🧡
I love the Allure EDP. I have also the EDT, however, I bought that from a reseller and I don’t have confidence that it is not a fake. The lettering is scratching off. I’ve seen that happen on other bottles when I google images. So maybe that is just the way .
The lettering on the bottom is usually a telltale sign that it’s fake. It can rub off if perfume gets on it, as alcohol dissolves everything. Did you see my bottle of Yvresse? It was sealed in the box for 25 years before I opened it, and the letters turned to dust as they rubbed against the cardboard.
@ thanks for replying 💋 yes bottled of new west are on eBay for a small fortune! Can you remember Gem By Van Clif & Arpel? It was a favourite of mine in the mid 80s
My hands down favorites of the 90s are "Organza Indecent" by Givenchy, for fall and winter. And "Innocent" by Cholè, for the spring and summer. I miss these two. I 🍒
Yes, I bought the Hypnotic Poison (shimmer gold) body lotion for my 14-year-old daughter for Christmas. She wanted it SO bad. She is now 38 and still has the bottle and will never part with it. Yes, I was "that mom" who bought CD for a 14-year-old 😅
I miss Nocturnes de Caron, by Caron. Unfortunately its discontinued. How i wish they will bring it back. The body lotion was amazing too. I have champagne by YSL vintage from 90s.
Loulou and Eden by Chacharel, Giorgio Beverly Hills, Angel Thierry Mugler, Calvin Klein Eternity and Ck One, Issey Miyake l‘eau de Issey, Clinique Happy, Opium YSL…I remember each of them..I was a child and my Mother use these Perfumes.
Why do the perfume companies change the scent formula of the perfumes? If it works it works, right? I get that they may make a new version of it, but in my opinion they should also keep the original scent profile. 🤔😊
What's your favourite '90s scent? 😀
I really love Sunflowers Elozabeth Arden ❤
So many great ones!!! Samsara by Guerlain comes to mind!
Very hard but I will say Christian Dior Poison espirit de parfum
White Diamonds!
Eau de Monteil. I still have half a bottle of the Voile Parfumée and I am cherishing it. Also the original Parfum D'eté by Kenzo, in the leaf bottle, I have one which is almost full from when I used it, but it has unfortunately turned
Awwww DUNE!!! I was there behind the counter selling it when it was new. I still have the charm bracelet with the little golden charm of a bottle of Dune! After all these years, the bracelet still looks good! What a uniquely wonderful fragrance!!
I never 'got' Dune. I really wanted to, but I couldn't figure it out.
Yes! DUNE was on my wish list for a long time. I really wanted the older style bottle.

This was such a good idea, Luke. I love it when you do your 90s fragrances, since I have so many of the same and I can experience the scents as you’re talking about them. 😊😄
Thank you Michele. I’d love to see a similar kind of video from you. 🧡
Thank you so much, you’re so kind. 🧡
Love this as you mentioned some of my favorites!!XOXO
Hi Sheba, thank you 🧡
Hi Luke, Chanel Allure and Dior Dune! Love and own them both. Thanks to you I bought Casmir and Trésor. Really like Trésor.
SOTD Dune.
I’m so glad you like it. Amazing choices. 🤩
The new versions of Tresor are awful, they murdered one of my all time faves
@@lukeparfums Re: Far Away perhaps try spraying on fabric or hair.
Cabotine de Gres smells so good. It has a few different versions. The pink Cabotine smells great too.
What’s it like? I’m really intrigued by Cabotine Gold! 🙂
Very nice to revisit some of these classic fragrances. :)
Indeed! Thanks for stopping by. 🧡
I'd love a vintage bottle of Classique EDT. Love that. ❤
Gio I miss it so much!
Diamonds and emeralds is a favorite of mine. I think it’s sweet and aquatic at the same time for some reason. 🤗
Truly special, thanks for watching. 🙂
I love, love, love Noa!! ❤
🧡
Love going down memory lane.
We all do. Thanks for watching. 🧡
This makes me soooooo nostalgic. Was so young then. My very first perfume love was Obsession...oh, I was obsessed with it. Also wore NoaNoa by Otto Kern, Venezia and Loulou :-)
So many amazing ones. Thanks for watching 🙂
I think the 80s, 90s and early 2000s are my favorite time for perfumes. I'm exhausted by all the sticky sweet gourmands now. I just want us to go back here.
I’ve been discovering more and more 00s perfume as well. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Hi Luke, it is such a treat to view this video. I have an interest in vintage fragrances. Two of my favorites is Trueste by Tiffany and Amarige by Givenchy. Thanks for sharing ❤
Hi there, thank you so much. I appreciate your comment. Amarige is gorgeous! 🧡
Ghost myst by coty will forever be the one I'll always remember😃
Thanks for watching. 🙂
I have worn all of the perfumes and still do with some of them 😊 love them all very nostalgic 😊
Awesome, thanks for watching. 🧡
Thank you for the wonderful trip down memory lane ❤
Glad you enjoyed it 🧡
Tocade.. My favorite ❤
The best perfumes ever were (and still are)organza Indecence and Fendi by Fendi. I really don’t understand how those amazing perfumes were discounted.
I loved Fendi. Wish they would bring it back.
It’s such a shame they’re gone. 😕
I love your videos. So nostalgic... brings back great memories and the best perfume era.
Thank you so much 🙂✨
I have Dune it’s my late mother’s favourite ❤️ I just got body shop musk oil recently love it
I remember Body Shop Musk oil, so unique. 🙂
That’s a perfect description. 🧡
@@lukeparfums I'm glad you think so, I thought maybe it was just me!😃
I had WISH, but sold it. You both make me want it back again.!❤
@@talktothehandreviews it is a beautiful bottle 🤩
Beautiful collection Tfs ❤
🧡
What was the Body Shop perfume, was it Dewberry? Because I was drenched in that every time I left the house.
There is one called Dewberry indeed. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Yes and they discontinued it sadly , my late friend Rachel used to be soaked in it , I wish I could have it again to remember her .
Yes, I had the vanilla oil spray from the Body Shop a few years ago. It was a beautiful sweet vanilla scent. Give Alyssa Ashley Vanilla a try. 🧡
@@lukeparfums Oh, thank you so much! I will look that up🙂
Not to encourage you to buy another perfume 😂. However, have you tried Boucheron by Boucheron? It is an late 80's perfume and it smells incredible. I think you would like it.
Yes, I have. I have a large decant of Boucheron. Thank you for the recommendation. 🙂
Boucheron!!♥ Do you remember Bijan original? That's another great one in the same family IMO.
@@talktothehandreviews Bijan is the scent that my sister’s daughters most recognize as a ‘mom-scent’ because she wore it so much when they were young.
dune, dolce vita..mmmmm I LOVE it!!!
Thanks for watching. 🙂✨
Also the original Chloe by KL
I loved Hypnotic Poison but couldn’t wear it because all I did was sneeze but my first purchase was Givenchy Organza Indecence she has my heart 💜
Oh no, that hasn’t happened to me yet. Organza Indecence is so beautiful but sadly long gone. 🧡
Far away is lovely 🌹 thanks for the video❣️
Thanks for watching! 🧡
Charlie's during high school days . Then after college ...estee lauder then nagabroad chanel pink etc ❤🎉
Which one from EL? I love their scents. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Classique, Venezia and Eden.
I used to wear Dune. Bought a bottle for my mum and its stuck in the dark still in the box and cellophane.
Will you be opening it or giving it to your mum? Thanks for watching. 🙂
@@lukeparfums it's been in the cupboard for over 20 years. I'm contemplating stealing it, she will never know it's gone 😁
I wish Roma by Laura Biagotti was included!
Yes, I love that too. Have only a small amount left so don't want to wear it too often.
Roses And More by Priscilla Presley was and remains one of my favorite fragrances.
Thanks for sharing 🙂
New West, oh my gosh smelt amazing, like mangos, so wish it would come back, my mum still has some.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Omg yvress was my fave also Dune.
Black Cashmere by Donna Karen
Bob Makie " Mackie" , Elizabeth Tailor "Passion" and Calvin Klien "CKone"
Does anyone remember New West by Aramis. I adored it and used to drench myself in it ❤
Aramis was such an underrated house. I believe most of their scents are discontinued though.
@ thanks for replying 💋 yes bottled of new west are on eBay for a small fortune! Can you remember Gem By Van Clif & Arpel? It was a favourite of mine in the mid 80s
So many discontinued scents cost a fortune these says. I’m not familiar with Gem by Van Cleef 🧡
I still wear dune , organza , classique
Awesome. 🙂
My hands down favorites of the 90s are
"Organza Indecent" by Givenchy, for fall and winter. And "Innocent" by Cholè, for the spring and summer. I miss these two. I 🍒
Both amazing scents, thanks for watching. 🧡
I adore Dune! Is it now discontinued?
I believe it’s still in production. 🙂✨
@@lukeparfums thank you!
My favorites were Dune , Noa , Yvresse and Venezia 😍🤩, hope I could get them…
All still available 🙂✨
All still available 🙂✨
Yes, I bought the Hypnotic Poison (shimmer gold) body lotion for my 14-year-old daughter for Christmas. She wanted it SO bad. She is now 38 and still has the bottle and will never part with it. Yes, I was "that mom" who bought CD for a 14-year-old 😅
That’s wonderful. She’ll always cherish it. 🙂
One of my favorite 90s scent was Vivid by Liz Claiborne ❤ why there's no one who talks about this perfume
I’ve never heard of it either. Thanks for sharing. 🧡
I miss Nocturnes de Caron, by Caron. Unfortunately its discontinued. How i wish they will bring it back.
The body lotion was amazing too.
I have champagne by YSL vintage from 90s.
Thanks for sharing. I’ve not tried any Caron fragrances, I’m definitely missing out.
What an amazing list! 🙂🧡
Poison was my scent in the 90s. Had Tresor too.
My mum’s scent as well 🧡
Did you ever try Woman in gold by Kilian? If so, do you think Tocade is similar?
Hi Claire. Yes, I have a sample. There is a similarity, but the DNA is distinctly different.
@lukeparfums cheers! A friend was asking me about it 👍
I still use Rush and just bought 7 more Dune.
7 more bottles? 🤭
@@lukeparfums yes. 100ml
I had Hypnotic Poison, JPG, and Paris.
Why do the perfume companies change the scent formula of the perfumes? If it works it works, right? I get that they may make a new version of it, but in my opinion they should also keep the original scent profile. 🤔😊
There’s no easy answer to your question but due to the availability of raw ingredients, regulations (IFRA), profit margins… in a nutshell. 🙂
