I think Wil has an army of droolers that watch his fabulous videos. Not only are the videos good, when we make them, atleast when I make it comes out picture and taste perfect.
I just made this. I was a bit hesitant because I didn't like the smell of some of the mushrooms, but I trust Yeung recipes. It ended up being SO DELICIOUS. I made it will whole rice. I boiled the whole rice for about 20 minutes and drained before going on with the recipe. I also baked some chickpeas along with the mushrooms. I didn't have all the ingredients for the urmami spice, but it still came out great. One of the ingredients I did have are peppercorns, which I've never used peppercorns before. I just had some in a container with my bay leaves. They added so much flavor! I'll try to find the other ingredients for the future.

Man, I love your channel and the recipes here. It's the first place I go to when I need inspiration. But please provide alternatives for stuff like the umami powder and chilli oil. I do not always have time to go down 2-3 recipes to make something quick and delicious.

Found your channel via the papaya salad after buying a green papaya by accident (thinking it would ripen) and then having no idea what to do with it. Definitely a happy accident - I am grateful for the papaya and for your channel!
I watched your umami powder vid (your link in the comment). Thank you so much for sharing. I will indeed make this powder as I see me using it in many dishes. I do love fresh shitake mushrooms and I never thought about powdering up the dried shitake to make a seasoning out of it. I can see me using this in rice, soups and salads. thanks again!🤩
To make it extra healthy I reduced the quantity of rice and instead added a bunch of chopped green beans, chopped kale and spinach. I am enjoying it with a side of gochujang paste from Trader Joe’s as I am typing this. It tastes “Awesome”!! Thanks again chef for this wonderful recipe!! Next, can’t wait to try your veggie ramen!

Rice dishes can be so amazingly versatile and mushrooms are a powerhouse of nutrition. My partner loves mushrooms and enjoyes rice - I'm gonna' cook this for her next time I find myself in the bad-books 😉
I tend to use a rice cooker as my stovetop rice comes out... average, but this actually came out really good! Used some of the oyster mushrooms I've been growing :)
