- That’s a WRAP! The first season of Virtual Orchestration ends with this episode, and our beloved host, Alex Lamy, pulls out all the stops! He samples Clara’s cello playing in a KONTAKT instrument and uses it for a new piece. As if that weren’t already exciting enough, he also makes extensive use of the Lucent flute library from guest host Claire Wickes.
Enjoy Alex’s final composition for Season one!
Virtual Orchestration is a collaboration between Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA) and Orchestral Tools (Berlin, Germany).

Absolutely LOVE this! I'm blown away (pun intended) with how you used my free flute library. And it was a pleasure to host in your absence, thanks for having me!
You're both great teachers - thank you so much for making these!
Thank you, Claire :) Loved having you on board. And Lucent is awesome, was so much fun to use for this!
To all Virtual Orchestration Professors and Mentors, I had the most incredible, amazing journey I could ever ask for. I learned a lot and I will continue doing so. Alex, Clara, and Claire, you guys are outstanding players. Thanks so much to all of you for taking the time to do this.
Well said!
You’re welcome! Very happy to be involved :)
*sees the comment section part of the video* OH HEY THAT'S ME
The cello textures patches are amazing, I'm inspired to make my own piece of music with this instrument. Thank you for your work VO team and see you next year!
I’m glad you like the library! Looking forward to hearing what you create! 🥳
the amount of creativity all in one video is incredible!
🙏🙏
A great season of a great channel made by great musicians for (great) musicians. No, I don not overuse the word "great". A big thanks to all who made this possible and hoping for a ... great ... 2nd season.
Great absolutly loved it , amazing journey thank you all, once again Can’t wait for Season 2 . greetings from Holland
I love the flute it is my favourite instrument because I like to play all the low notes because low notes are my favourite to play especially low B
I can't realize the whole lot of things I've learned with this first season. All of you, the Virtual Orchestration team, are fantastic. Thanks a lot for your effort and teaching.❤️
🙏🙏
Amazing piece of music! Thank you for your work! And for this free cello library too! 😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! And you’re welcome, hope you have fun with the library!
@@alexlamymusic Hope so!))
Bravo!
Thank you so much for this channel. I have learned so much. Especially thank you for the free VST!
That was a great way to finish the season - thank you all, once again, for this tremendous resource. I shall be re-watching these videos for years to come.
Hello guys.
Thank you for an invaluable experience and a great time!
The wait until next year will certainly be excruciatingly unbearable.
On top of that, you deliberately created a sad nostalgic composition to enhance the feeling of anticipation )
It was a joke of course. But still, we look forward to more lessons from your fantastic team!
Regards, Yaroslav.
Great work, thank you
Everyone needs a clara......oh, we have one. Thank you for the free library. Cracking composition Alex. Looking forward to season 2 PS: just trying out the library.....excellent. I love the harmonic gliss trem patch. So many good inspiring patches.
Cheers, Mark! Glad you’re enjoying the library 👍🏻
Thanks for everything. I have learned a lot. Looking forward to season 2!
🙏🙏
Awesome piece Alex! So many beautiful textures! Thank you to the whole VO team for this fantastic first season, every episode was full of great tips, amazing music and really entertaining at the same time! I can't wait for season 2! :)
Cheers! Glad you liked the music :)
Thank you so much for all the content! Very inspiring and fun videos. Can’t wait for Season 2! Greetings from Germany
this really feels like classical music that has transcended into the 21st century. Your creativity with different sounds (literally using the whole instrument) aswell as harmonics remind me a lot of Hans Zimmer and its just beautiful. Honestly i dont know if it fits into your time schedules but i would love to see a few vlogs of your day to day in between seasons.
Thank you for the kind words! I’ll see if I can get HZ to comment on the Cello library one day 🤓
That was really quite excellent. Thank you!
Impressively majestic! 😊
Hypnotic and enchanting ❤
Thank you.
Thanks for your work. Really top-quality videos. Will be waiting a new season.
🙏🙏 thank you!
Beautiful piece of music! Thank you so much😎🙏
Thank you!
Great Content ❤
Excellent composition! Thanks to all for the tutorials - really enjoyed every single one. Hope Season 2 isn't too far away! Would have loved Clara's cello as a Sine collection (hint, hint)
But then you don’t get a cool Virtual Orchestration themed GUI 😉
Glad i found the chanel! your piece is amazing wow and thx for the gift will play with it heheh :) cant wait for 2024 ;)
Thank you 🙏 excited to hear what you do with Reverie!
@@alexlamymusic affraid that will stay in my daw hahahahah but how knows ;)
You had rhythm and register?
My teacher gave me a C, a B and a Bb and told me "Write" xD
Nice video!
OMG! This Clara Cello Sounds Like A Duduk🙀 So Nice!!! I'll like to suggest for the next season that you should please try and work on ethnic compositions i.e. sounds from Middle East😏
Gorgeous! Where can I get these other sample libraries?!
Over at Orchestral Tools site. Mainly using Metropolis Ark 2, 5, and Berlin Strings as far as I remember
vst3 please~
Kontakt is a VST, Audio Unit, and AAX plugin
Beautiful Sounds.
Does not work for me though.
Great Work.
this is basicly indian classical music: melody with a set of notes from 4 notes to all 7 notes and you throw them around to get a composition
Edit: Its been six months......and i am SO wrong. Theres more to it with ornamentation and ragas amongst others
sounds like a great cello library ... can you guys stop making Kontakt only stuff! Put it your very own Sine so we can all enjoy them.
Orchestral Tools don’t make libraries for Kontakt anymore. But that doesn’t guarantee that anything we do for Virtual Orchestration comes out as a SINE product.
SAD that it's only for the paying Kontakt player ...
Native Instruments charges a $2,500 fee if you want to release instruments as free libraries for the Kontakt player. There is something in place currently that waives fees if you make libraries for Kontakt 7, but the trade off for us is development time - we wouldn't have things ready alongside episodes if we went down either route.
