With the change to how the trees can be set up (in combat of enemy) the ability on the trees makes them almost as good as the shackles for doing damage. Which imo makes them even more important to get out early.
Thanks for all your videos. I’m thinking about using just one caster, warsong revenant as our magic is quite weak and the best thing we can do is spamming wild woods. Also he is great for vanish and dispells, no reason for a bigger investment in magic I think.
I think that's a fair way to look at it, although with Manifestations being so strong, there's always a good use for extra spell casts. For me, it's a close call between Warsong with Spellsinger for +1 to cast or Spellsinger on a non-caster like Durthu to get one extra cast.
Maybe another video idea: best usage of CP. I know it is kind a hard, but what´s best. Shooting in enemies phase? casting shackles in enemies phase? Giving alarielle all on attack? where is all on attack best on? Comparing the math behind all that. Atm my 4 CP are hard to manage: 1 is always used to shoot 6 kurnoth, but then it is getting complicated as leaving open counter-charge is a mighty tool as well as power through to get to a wyldwood
I don't really know enough to compare our magic lore to other factions. But even when you take into account the chance to fail or get unbound, the magic damage and utility that we have access to DOES make up the difference between damage output. For example, I sort of wrote off Warsong Revenant when it comes to damage output, but if you get good targets for his warscroll spell and Dwellers Below, he can do comparable damage to an unreinforced unit of Bow Hunters shooting against a 3+ or 4+ armor save. I don't know how often that will be possible, but it's better than I thought. Not to mention the manifestations can make up for his lack of damage as well. It might be worth re-watching the last five minutes of this video to see the how the numbers line up. Thanks for watching!
@@gammafighter yeah! The warsong rev is basically the main reason I picked Sylvaneth. Oh well I just hope we have better options when the battletome come out.

The rules update was a big glowup for the AWW. I think that's perfectly fine because they went from "Who cares?" to "Actually might do something".

That's a great suggestion. I've been thinking about it for a while, I just haven't had a chance to collect my thoughts on it.
Thank you for the Video again. My questions now:
Am I underestimating magic?
Is magic damage super weak?
Is just sylvaneth magic weak?

I am a magic guy, I play wizard or sorcerer (mostly) in dnd, and that video made me so sad! I love Sylvaneth but our magic options are so bad!
It's especially painful because our casters are so good. It would be nice to have some good spells for them to cast!
