I feel like a movie focusing on Gamora would have had a much darker tone, maybe a little too dark for the MCU. (I don't think that's the reason, but I can see why they wanted to focus on a big goofball instead.)
Q: How is Star-Lord able to hold an infinity stone without dying? A: Well' he's gonna tell Ronan, "You said it yourself. We're the Guardians of the Galaxy".

I don't disagree that he's not a good actor...despite him being one of my favorites. Lol. I just said he did more work than people realize for those three words. Lol. I am a huge movie buff that has worked in a movie theater for over a decade. I have strict rules about what makes someone a good actor and many of my favorites, including Vin Diesel, don't fit those rules, but their movies are still fun to watch.
I love seeing Chris Pratt's transformation on Parks and Rec when he was getting in shape for Guardians of the Galaxy. Had the chunky, lovable Andy start slimming down for his new roles and him skyrocketing into fame. I just honestly love Chris Pratt's story more than anything, went from being what should've been a side character for a few episodes to being so well received he was on for the entire series and then onto the largest blockbuster films in history and married Arnold Schwarzenegger's daughter. All that from a man who lived in a van
Someone on Parks & Rec comented that Andy looked a lot more fit than he used to, and he responded with something like, "Yeah, I stopped drinking beer last month."

TrollPriestZandum or maybe it’s because they know how to make a good movie more often than not, and average movie goers alike with fans go. I’m sure your opinion isn’t the one that matters. After all, you’re not running the multi-billion dollar company.
To be fair, the "shar9ing the burden" thing they do at the end is actually set up. In one scene the collector explains that a group of ten people once tried to do that and were able to control the power of the infinity stone for a brief moment before being killed by it. Of course that sets up another loophole. If ten extraordinary people were able to control it for a brief moment, how about trying the same thing with aa thousand regular people? And if they get blown up, let's do it with ten thousand. And i don't care how special those ten people were, they cannot compare to a million regular people. Sure, it'd be a HUGE hassle, but the payoff is the ability to control all energy of the universe and i'd say that's more than worth the hassle.
@person person You don't hink q galaxtic religion can get a million people to do that? Just look how many paying members the Catholic church still have..
