I am looking into getting a DBX DriveRack, eventually multiple as I think I'll need 3 to power mains and 2 monitor mixes. I am wanting the feedback fighting features mostly, but am also liking the other features the more I look into it. The auto room EQ sounds like it might be nice. The speakers that you mentioned in this video, EV Live X and ZLX.... I have a pair of ZLX 12" tops and so far I love 'em. I am using them with a single ZXA1 Sub for now and it's working out great for the smaller places in my area. I'm looking to expand my setup for larger events and am looking into 15" subs, probably ETX series from EV if they don't come out with a ZLX Sub while I'm saving...... That and a slew of 12" ZLX for mains and monitors, for now I plan to pick up 3 more ZLX12-P speakers, one at a time, and possibly a second ZXA-1 Sub. The speakers I'm using all have crossovers and limiting and DSP settings and such built in, and sound pretty dang good with a straight input, will the DBX unit really help a lot or should I just be looking for feedback elimination of some sort? I like all of what it can do in just one rack space. I'll have to look into it more, and if the other PA+ model of any of the DBX units can do dual mono that would be awesome! I'm trying to build a minimal rack setup. Thanks for the videos.

The system that Im using is (2) JBL EON G2 15s(main powered speakers) and (2) Alto powered 15 subwoofers...the reason I bought my driverack is because for the main thang is to protect all my speakers when it comes to eliminate clipping when using a limiting(which I made a video of it) as far as sounds goes when it comes to optimizing it to get the best performance out of it...the system u have now has a built in DSP which means u really dont need a driverack to get great sounds out of them since most up to date speakers has built in DSP on them so getting a driverack wont be necessary and all u will need is a feedback eliminator but in my opinion I would still get the driverack just because its more advantage that way and that I can be sure that all my speakers perform the same way as it should

Your video is so interesting, I wish you could also give guides on how to used the Driverack PX on a perceive system with two amplifiers , secondly may one leave the BBE 882i in the signal chain or the BBE is not required once you have a driverack PX

    • @Tdubbie2011

Otiesh Francis The driverack can also be use with passive system.....since the driverack px is only capable of 2 outputs(one for the mains and one for the subs) with 2 amps... amp#1 can be use for your tops speakers and amp#2 can be use for your subs as well

Great, I just did the same and my sound is awesome = Pioneer ddj sx to BBE 882i to DBX soundRack PX then to Amp1 QSC PLX 203 for tops and Amp2 PLX 203 for base . speakers in use are Ev SX300 x4 tops and Martin Audio S18 base x 2
the base is more better than previous and the tops sound crispy

-10dB is line level, +4db is Balanced level. Has nothing to do with volume, It has to do with the noise floor. +4dB has a lower noise floor than -10dB hence, less noise with long cable runs. The RTA mic should be set at ear level. Just my 2 cents. I am thinking about getting one of these, thanks for the overview, very informative.

What is the power supply you are using to turn on/power the driverack?

    • @Tdubbie2011

What kind of system do you have?

    • @maxvelazquez

Your powered speakers have parallel ins and outs, just run one of the line outs of your sub to your other sub and a line out from one of your tops to the other top. The parallel configuration will treat each pair as if they were one pair.

Jeff Campbell In my opinion I would due to the fact that its very flexible and more control of output to the speakers and since more up to date speakers with a built-in DSP inside the amps you dont really need any type of sound processor going into those powered speakers but I truly recommend it since its more flexible and has better sound quality if you set the drive rack in the right way not only it protects your speakers(using the limiters) but it also has some great sounding EQ as well of making your speaker sounds better on a optimum level without the need to boost anything on the powered speaker itself.....meaning that to say...it keeps the built in amp from working too hard

    Hello T- Dubbie
i have DBX Pa+ and i want to setup 2 powered tops and 2 powered sub
2 tops Yamaha dsr 115 and 2 custom powered sub
how can i set up for these speakers
    plz help

First thing I would do is(from the driverack PA+) on the HIGH channel from your driverack...hook up to your main tops and then on the LOW channel from your driverack PA+ (on mono mode...left channel only) and hook it to 1 sub and then from that 1 sub daisy chain it(from the first sub loop output)into another sub number 2...the bass performs better when 2 subs or more are on mono mode with the same outputs
