Hey Terre Kantone.....well it depends on how u hook ur mixer up when using a driverack and after looking up the mixer u have on the web site it looks to me that ur gonna need a mixer with at least an sub buss output or two in order to control the outputs from ur mains and sub outs from ur driverack but in this case the mixer u have rite now u can still use it alone with the driverack but ur just gonna have to use it as a stand alone which means that ur only options is that u only have more input on ur board other than beside hooking everything up into the mixer.

T-Dub....I have watched all your vids on the PX. Thanks for the info. I am hooking up my pa mixer the way your video shows inline with the px. My question to you is about setting the clip and limit. Do I start set up from this configuration using the pa mixer faders as main volumes or do I use the source volumes and just leave pa faders at a constant level.....If thats makes any sense to you....

Joseph Asci if I were you I will start by the speakers and the subs first since they the last source of the signal food chain....meaning that the video that I made about the relationship between clipping and limiting...once you set those levels right then from your mixing board since the limiter is active from the driverack you are in no danger of blowing your speakers at all just alone as the limiter is taking place from the clipping from your speakers

I always go from sources to mixer, from mixer to dbx then to speakers, can't imagine why you would do opposite.

its because this is more of advance type way to hook up a driverack for more flexible audio set up for ur speakers which now not only I still get all the features from the driverack but at the same time I can now control my subs and my tops by using a mixer instead of always going to the set up on the driverack.....its pretty much a short cut of controlling ur speakers without ever touching the driverack but still get the driverack quality sound

I have Alto Mixer (ZMX122), I Want to run the source into the mixer (first) then out of the mixer into the DBX Driverack, then into the speaker (Main & Subs). Is that possible too?

Its best to have a pa mixer that has at least one set of sub buss output control

I advice you not to do this..this is for the people who knows how to hook up a driverack in a advance type way making it more flexible for volume control between main speakers and subs as well if you dont know what ur doing please do not attend to do what I just did on this video unless you know what your doing...its best that you just hook 2 main top speakers to your main output on your driverack and subs goes to sub output into the driverack as well and then from your mixer main output goes into your driveracks input but if you wanna hook things up the way that I did...you should take this at your own risk but my opinion is I advice you not to do that unless you know what your doing

All due respect, but this is just bad advice, just look in the DBX manual, it says to hook your DJ mixer output to the PA mixer along with any Mics or instruments and then run the Master output from the PA mixer to the Drive Rack, this way you give everything a proper Signal Chain and processing (the mics need to get in the drive rack for the feedback suppression work). The drive rack is meant to be a speaker control/protection system and putting the output of it to a PA Mixer completely defeats its purpose. The only point of using a PA mixer is to be able to route all of your signals (DJ(s), Mic(s), Instrument(s), Ect Ect..) into yous signal chain, in this case a DBX Drive Rack. Further more Its pointless to use a PA mixer unless you need to mix in other signals to you sound (like 2 or 3 mics or even other DJ's). If you don't run the PA Mixer Master output into the drive rack, the drive rack is useless, yes your DJ will sound good, but your Mics and every thing else will sound bad and feed back like no other. don't keep the drive rack to your self share it with your whole signal chain =)

Discjo Deplete I totally understand your input...not everyone agrees how I hook things up and for that reason its because the driverack can be more advance in a way to where theres more options than what the unit itself can do but your right things can get damage if not hook up right...for me it has for excellent for me so far...I normally dont advice everyone to do this but something that is something that I wanted to share.

I have 2 ev Zlx-12p tops and 2 passive subs using a behringer Xenyx 1204USB my hook up is from my source xlr output into the behringer xenyx mic mono input right main output from the PA mixer into the right main input of the drive racks for my tops right main output xlr from the drive rack going to my ev zlx-12p tops left output from the PA mixer going to the left input of the drive rack for the sub then the same left output going to my amplifier for the sub that way i can control the tops zlx-12p with the right main mix output slider and the left slider on the main mix for my sub that works for me.
