    The drive rack is a great piece of gear and does some amazing things. Take a look at the PA2, it's even better. However the level set does not work in a live venue where there is a lot of background noise. If your mixer has a zone out or booth out, you can run a seperite feed for your subs and you can adjust the tops and subs independently. In other words, you have a volume for the tops, and a volume for the subs rite on the mixer without having to dive into the perimeters in the drive rack. I like your vids, keep them coming.

    Hey T-Dubbie, thanks for the video. I have the PX and had no idea you could change the sub volume like that. Also, besides the technical advice, thanks for the speech at the end. Very uplifting.

    Very nice video! One question. If I daisy chain speakers, do I need to turn on the daisy chained speakers while doing the pink noise for set up and EQ? Thanks.

    You can also choose the EQ curve preset "C" and you should start with a nice bump in your low end (of course that's after you've processed the room).

    Thanks for the info. I have a,question. I just bought the PA2, and my first gig is outside in a yard party. So...how do I set it up for that first gig? Thanks.

    • @Tdubbie2011
      @Tdubbie2011  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish that I can help you with that but I have not yet own one of these yet but in the future I will...but in your first gig if you just looking to just balance your speakers and your powered subs(if you have a pair) mic calibration would be your first choice however that is not the case if you just want to warm things up and test it out...most todays powered speakers have built in DSP in them so getting them to sound just right doesnt require that much processor but at the same time having a driverack is a real life saver when it comes to not only great sounds great but most important is to protect your speakers

    Im a sound guy for live sound, I use a presonus 24.4.2 digital mixer and mainly use 4 QSC KW153's and 4 QSC 181's for front of house with 4 QSC KW112's for monitors, Is i like to use my presonus's SMART program to set up for gigs, however, It doesn't have the speaker balancing option and i think is very important, would you know if its possible to only use the Driverack pro for balancing my speakers and for eliminating feedback with out using any other functions, my board has everything I need... by the way, I agree with your comments about always wanting to learn and keeping an open mind to constructive criticism. anyhow, Thanks for any guidance you can provide and keep up the great work.

      You can use the driverack to balance your speakers but for that reason and the number of speakers that you have sounds like you need a high end driverack(if they have one) to handle all those speakers and balancing them will be a real challenge because then you have to mic(using the pink noise)to each set of speakers to get it right and Im not sure how that works since Im only a Dj and for a set up like you have Im sure their are professional sound processors out there to get the job done...just dont know how it can be hook and handle since most driverack are only design to hook up 4 speakers only but Im sure there are ways to take advantage of...like either use multiple driverack or use a high end driverack to hook up multiple speakers to balance out the mains and the subs all together...in my opinion Ill try the high end driverack with multiple ins and outs for a set up like that......hope that helps and your welcome.

      I also have the presonus 24.4.2 the problem is that when you kill the feedbacks with the console it also alters the frequency when you are recording live.

    I need your help for the best Driverack PX configuration with my Mackie speakers.
    In the beginning of the path i use a Mackie 1640i mixer which Main L and R outs go to DRIVERACK PX in's.
    At the end of the path are my MACKIE SR1530 (2x) tops and MACKIE SWA 1801 subs (2x).
    SWA1801 sub has a volume control knob but the SR1530 don't...when "on" they are at full power...
    My first question is : should i connect them as "satelite" (where the sr1530 is fed by the swa1801 high pass filter) or use all Driverack PX's main and sub outputs directly to each speaker?
    My second question is : Since SR1530 don't have a volume control know how do i adjust Balance and Speakers Levels?
    What's the best configuration possible for these speakers?

    • @Tdubbie2011
      @Tdubbie2011  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok either way you hook them up whether you hook ur main tops to the subs high pass filter and then out from the subs to the driverack main output or you can hook your tops to the main output channel from the driverack and then your subs to the sub output channel from your driverack and as far as the volumes goes...just as long as any console with a volume control would be fine for the tops to be in control so if you want to use ur driverack as its full potential.....hook your tops to the main output from the driverack,same for the subs to the sub output from your driverack and then from there...your mixer console (mackie 1640i) main outputs goes into the input into the driverack and from there you can tweak the speakers up from the set up menu.....I have a few videos on how to set up the system using a driverack to show you how to hook everything up and getting them all balance such as this video here but i got more that will explain it better.....hope this helps!

      ***** I'm having the same issue. No level control on the Mackie SR1530Z. I went main L/R out from my mixer into the DRPX and used L/R outputs from DRPX for my mains and the SUB L/R Outputs for each Sub. I have ELectro Voice ELX118P powered subs that aren't on the speaker list. I used the RTA mic to auto eq or level and I thought I about blew my speakers....I'm afraid to hook 'em up again. Want to avoid blowing my speakers.

    • @Tdubbie2011
      @Tdubbie2011  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Lee Turn your speakers up alittle more so that the mic(that calibrates the signal from the speakers)can pick up a decent volume to balance them

    How do i setup 4 tops with this

    • @Tdubbie2011
      @Tdubbie2011  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ruben avila it depends what driverack are you using...in this case if your just using tops as a stereo or in mono..start by hooking one top(from the driverack)and then daisy chain it to another top(from the output on the first top) and then do the same thing for the other side(the other 2 tops) and from there on the main output from the driverack hook the cable(from the first 2 top) to the left and then same for the right side(from the other 2 tops) and then you can just use the main outs to control both pairs to the left tops and right tops.........hope that helps
