Isn't it amazing how one person's voice and interpretation of a character can change our ENTIRE outlook on that character and series/show in question?! Man, great voice! =)
Couldn't they like, dye his hair, beef him up and put him in all the batman movies. It would make every ones dreams come true, where batman doesn't sound like he has throat cancer
I've always thought the guy behind Batman's voice was someone very tall like Tyler Mane. This is my first seeing Kevin Conroy. He reminds of Willam Defoe. One of my favorite actors.
I close my eyes and i hear Batman! I open them and he's gone! instead i see this skinny middle aged guy! But then when i close them again, Batman is back! I'm confused!
There are a small percentage of voice actors that truely create (or recreate) the roles as if the characters really existed. That list includes Peter Cullen,(Optimus Prime) Bill Daniels, (Knight Industries 2000) and james Earl Jones (Darth Vader) Kevin Conroy is that good. His Batman was just as good as any live action version of the character. He really deserves to be the voice of Batman for as long as he wants.
Whenever I watched these past Kevin Conroy videos he's wearing a ring on his ring finger it's confirmed that he's married to a man. After everything that I knew the real Kevin Conroy knowing that he was gay, living with extreme anxiety, being closeted, and growing up in a dysfunctional family which I, and many other being growing up in a dysfunctional family.
Scorpius Jones i once met Kevin Conroy back in October 2017 he let me talk to him and take a picture with him for free and everyone else had to pay like $75 to meet him he’s such a cool guy
I'm nerding out here Kevin Conroy i grew up hearing his voice watching the animated series as a kid i always wanted to meet kevin because i had so many questions for him, and cause he was my idol as a kid cause in my eyes as a kid and as an adult now he IS THE BATMAN and always will be in my eyes
Also, Bill Finger. Don't forget him. He's not exactly listed too much (like the Ub Iwerks to Disney) but he was VERY involved with making Batman who and what he is today.
No one will be able to match Conroy, but Bruce Greenwood is a very decent substitute. He provides the voice of Batman in Batman: Under the Red Hood and Young Justice, and sounds a lot like Conroy but a little gruffer.
I think at one point, I had figured that Kevin--between B:TAS, Batman Beyond, the movies, and the Justice League episodes--has done something like 150 performances in the Bruce Wayne/Batman persona. To blunt, there isn't a fan of what Warner Animation/DC Comics and Rocksteady who would complain. He is the greatest voice of Batman ever, and arguably the greatest voice/animation actor ever.
Ever since Batman: The Animated Series aired, everytime I read a Batman comic book I hear Kevin Conroy's voice in my head as Batman, Mark Hamill as the Joker, and the rest of the wonderful cast of actors as their respective parts. They all did the characters justice.
Kevin Conroy is an supreme actor. The ability to deliver a performance as high-caliber as he does in the Batman: Arkham video game series without the aid of his fellow cast members is an amazing gift. He allows the Batman character depth, and certain level of humanity that is easily lost when dealing with a "super" hero.
That might be hard as dubbing can be a real pain in the ass. I guess maybe if the cowl covered his nose and mouth and the voice difference was explained as some sort electronic voice altering feature.
I know we all love Kevin Conroy for perfecting Batman and making him the character we all love. Actually you're forced to love him because he's Batman. But the thing is, we keep praising Hamill and Conroy and Nolan and many others who contributed to the perfection of Batman. But there is one person who is rarely praised and spoken of on the internet and its been 15 years since his death. May we all give thanks to the great Bob Kane, without him, Batman wouldnt have existed May God rest your soul
I can imagine him going to a restaurant or something and ordering food , as normal as can be , and the waiter just standing there or as he walks back to the kitchen like “that’s fucking Batman”
I don't think he's done with the voice. During the interview, if I recall correctly, he said he loves doing it, but I think, he hinted the producers may want to try out different people. So from his perspective he's ready to continue.
When I read The Killing Joke I hear his voice in my head, along with Mark Hamill's voice. It would be great if that where made into a animated movie..........oh wait.......they are:)
I like how the voice he does as Batman is his regular voice, and the lighter, "Hey I'm a rich guy and totally not Batman" voice he did in the cartoon as Bruce Wayne is a character voice.
Ironically I think he would make a pretty good Joker if made up. He has that linear physique and the facial bone structure (minus the grin) often depicted in the comics and games. Best voice of Batman!
What about John DiMaggio? His performance in Under the Red Hood was damn fine, my friends and I are still quoting his lines just as much as Mark Hamill's, and Heath Ledger's.
if a new batman film is made with the same actors or even new actors, kevin must be the voice for batman! :D it just came in my mind right now. i was imagining christian bale as batman but with the voice of kevin conroy.
How cool would it be if they made a single stand-alone film with this dude as Batman/Wayne an Hamill as Joker? I think visually, they fit the roles, with a little cleanup and makeup. I mean, Conroy has a solid jaw there, and Hamill's got the face.
his bruce voice was much higher pitched in the show then in the arkham games..I don't know if that was choice or just age and his voice has been slightly affected over the years, mark actually has a slightly darker sound to his arkham joker too then the show..so maybe because the games are kind of its own thing they changed things up a bit.
we have about 10 years until that day, so we have lots of time to find a new batman voice. Who knows, he still may choose to do it even after retirement, if his voice doesn't change drastically. :P
He still speaks like Batman even when he's not voicing Batman
Yaniel Espinosa I'm trying so fucking hard to not laugh like The Joker (I have a very unique voice)
So he speaks like Bruce Wayne
I can not believe he has gone. He is the best Batman and will never be topped in my opinion. RIP Kevin Conroy.
Gone too soon and I agree with everything you said. Absolutely devastating.
All I can hear is Bruce Wayne. Wow.
Isn't it amazing how one person's voice and interpretation of a character can change our ENTIRE outlook on that character and series/show in question?! Man, great voice! =)
He basically is BATMAN. it freaks me out it's so cool. 😱
I love you Kevin Conroy! You will always be my first Batman, the original and the best.
megan ivy Michael Keaton was my first Batman, But Conroy always did it better. He is Batman.
Myserieden Michael Keaton was definitely my first and favorite ON SCREEN Batman but Kevin was my first ;)
@2:48 Epic laugh of justice
Couldn't they like, dye his hair, beef him up and put him in all the batman movies. It would make every ones dreams come true, where batman doesn't sound like he has throat cancer
BHHHUUAAHAUUEEEHUEABHAAA
***** I thought I wrote "Harvey Dent, can we trust him?"
Completly agreed... I want HIS voice in a movie.
mitomen2000 In a few more years, they could do a Batman Beyond movie with him as an older Bruce Wayne.
That would be a dream
He has the most epic laugh EVER!
I've always thought the guy behind Batman's voice was someone very tall like Tyler Mane. This is my first seeing Kevin Conroy. He reminds of Willam Defoe. One of my favorite actors.
Willem Dafoe, actually. But, yeah, no one can remembers how his first name is spelled.
Well Kevin is 6’2”, so yeah, he is pretty tall.
He is such a wonderful person.
he truly is a legend, i can't imagine a world with batman that doesn't have Kevin Conroy's talented voice in it, HE IS BATMAN
I'd like to hear his answering machine message :D
i wish kevin did every dc animated movie aswell. he will always be the best voiceover for batman hands down, as mark hamill will be the best joker..
Anytime I'm reading a Batman story, I hear His voice in my head, when Batman speaks.
Never heard Batman Talk So much
now, I know why batman doesn't laugh
Lukas Wilson he Did once in the new adventures of Batman in the episode mad love
the killing joke movie from 2016
@@caelan6135 lol I commented this 7 years ago before that movie came out
kevin conroy is easily my favorite batman.
Batman saying "fuck you". * dies *
I close my eyes and i hear Batman! I open them and he's gone! instead i see this skinny middle aged guy! But then when i close them again, Batman is back!
I'm confused!
He might be a bit skinny, but he is 6'2, he is actually quite big
HARVEY DENT, CAN WE TRUST HIM?
I always though if he bulked up a bit, he would be the perfect live action Batman.
@@allknowingfreddybear9291I always thought Kevin looked bulked up. Rest in peace Kevin conroy.

True bro
Ian Aquino i never have and never will forget
God I love him so much. It's Batman. I am now safely flung into to my childhood of watching my favorite show Batman: The Animated Series. Bliss!
His normal voice is like Bruce Wayne and his batman voice is the perfect batman voice
Kevin Conroy would be great as Bruce Wayne in a live action Batman Beyond movie, he just needs to be made to look older and pack some muscle.
Or Dark Knight Returns. He's aged well because he stopped drinking at 21.
Well, he does have some pretty good looking biceps. It’s true.
Live action flashpoint paradox? He's definitely tall enough to portray batman just a bit too thin but that can be fixed with a diet and muscle plan
I'm a huge fan of Batman, Kevin Conroy was the voice of Batman I grew up with. Kevin Conroy is Batman.
he actually looks like the batman from the arkham series game.
When he said it was 91 when they started, I was like "Holy shit its been over 20 years since I saw the first episode aired for the first time"
I met him this weekend at Denver Comic Con and he is awesome! Great, funny and just an all around good guy. Thanks, Mr. Conroy!
Scorpius Jones i once met Kevin Conroy back in October 2017 he let me talk to him and take a picture with him for free and everyone else had to pay like $75 to meet him he’s such a cool guy
I'll guess that's pretty awesome to say "I'm Batman" knowing that you really are him :)
I'm nerding out here Kevin Conroy i grew up hearing his voice watching the animated series as a kid i always wanted to meet kevin because i had so many questions for him, and cause he was my idol as a kid cause in my eyes as a kid and as an adult now he IS THE BATMAN and always will be in my eyes
when i read the comics...conroy is the first voice that pops into my head for batman!! my childhood was pretty much his!!

o_o
Also, Bill Finger. Don't forget him. He's not exactly listed too much (like the Ub Iwerks to Disney) but he was VERY involved with making Batman who and what he is today.
RIP🦇🇺🇸🥃
Very well done, so 60 Minutes, even the abrupt end gave it flair!
"I'll have a whopper, WITH JUSTICE!!!"
it scares me when he laughs
happy 20th anniversary Batman: The Animated Series
I love this series. The animated series was truly the best of the best work.
Kevin is a gentleman. He could have blatantly pointed out how many times he'd already answered their same questions, but he was a pro.
hey that sounds like the guy from comic book cast (the dude interviewing at the start)
Currently I am working my way through Arkham City: Armoured Edition and I love it. I do miss hearing Arleen Sorkin as Harley Quinn though.
I like how he brings up Hitchcock. I have so much respect for this man. I am proud to say that this man voiced my favourite superhero. Thank you Kevin
He seems like the coolest, down to Earth kind of guy!! Hope I get to meet him!!
For those that asked, I shot this video with Nikon D5100 using a external Nikon Mic.
Kyler, Harley did manage to make ol' Batsy laugh.. I threw her outta the window after that.. Slept pretty good that night HAHAH!
I'd like to hear a whole interview of him doing the batman voice.
I love how casual and down to earth he seems, he doesn’t seem to act superior in any way. Just chilling and telling tales with fans.
No one will be able to match Conroy, but Bruce Greenwood is a very decent substitute. He provides the voice of Batman in Batman: Under the Red Hood and Young Justice, and sounds a lot like Conroy but a little gruffer.
Never thought I’d get to hear Batman drop an F bomb. He only ever said that in my head before 😂
Is that Raven and Velma in the background?
5:19
batman says "Fuck you"
" dont tell us Batman drives in a station wagon!" haha
Kevin Conroy IS Batman. He is the best voice actor to ever perform the roll. Thanks for uploading this video.
But he looks like Joker LOL
I think at one point, I had figured that Kevin--between B:TAS, Batman Beyond, the movies, and the Justice League episodes--has done something like 150 performances in the Bruce Wayne/Batman persona. 2:48 , so thats how batman's laugh !! 0_o , i can finnaly die in peace!!
For someone who's about 70, he looks damned good. He must take very good of himself.
Baar Bear: He’s 62
Kevin will always be my favorite batman
I get slightly scared when Conroy laughs xD
MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

"Service with a smile"
If they wanted an older character for batman in Man of Steel #2... they should have just used Kevin Conroy :/
he cant act.. id agree with the voice but not with the body
Bl4ckBull3t1 Yeah last time I saw pictures of him he looked a little thin to play Batman physically.
i would totally be ok if he voiced batman in a real movie
That might be hard as dubbing can be a real pain in the ass. I guess maybe if the cowl covered his nose and mouth and the voice difference was explained as some sort electronic voice altering feature.
Bl4ckBull3t1 well he can act, he acted for decades before getting the batman voice over gig. He just didn't get that famous off of em.
He should have had a cameo in Nolan's films. It would have been a nice nod to fans and cool to see who can recognize the voice.
He should be in the next batman movie
X"D Bat Wagon LMAO
I loved Kevin and Terrance Knox in Tour of Duty!
he gave him the juice!!!
God, please make Kevin Young again because I want him to be batman in live action
This is a good interview... although the interviewers aren't really saying much, it shows what a great speaker he really is.
I know we all love Kevin Conroy for perfecting Batman and making him the character we all love. Actually you're forced to love him because he's Batman.

Sumbudy should shouldshould make a movie where Kevin would play batman and Mark - joker it will be one sick movie im tellin u!
XD Joker, got out of here.... XD My favorite part! LOL
If Kevin dyes his hair to black, he would do a perfect Bruce Wayne (... and BATMAN)
He seems like such a nice guy, would love to meet hime some time!

I'd like to know what episode they were attempting to record during the riots.
You know he's an epic voice actor when the actors that comes after him instead of trying to sound like Batman would, they try to sound like Kevin.
Both Kevin and Mark are my childhood! WB kids on Saturday Morning was my religion!
5:21 made my life
close your eyes and imagine batman talking... hilarious! :)
we have about 10 years until that day, so we have lots of time to find a new batman voice. Who knows, he still may choose to do it even after retirement, if his voice doesn't change drastically. :P
