APPALACHIAN WILD - [FULL 4K FILM] - 5 day Backpack Hunting the Appalachian Mountains

  • This is the story of a trip a lifetime in the making.
    I grew up learning to appreciate God's creation through hunting, hiking, fishing, and reading the landscape in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. However, I always felt my experience was in some way hindered by the looming sense that out west stood real wilderness and what we enjoyed was simply - subpar.
    In this film this thought is put to the test as 3 of my closest friends and I plan and execute the trip of a lifetime in the backcountry of the Appalachian mountains in search of black bear and deer.
    APPALACHIAN WILD documents every step of this journey.
    Thank you and God bless!

    I found the grandfather remark humorous, as I am one. 😄Those mountains are definitely eye candy! Humans should be ashamed of what they have done to the majority of God's creation. Great video, young men.

    Truly good video guys. Living in these Va mountains is an adventure in itself. As suburbia closes in and the wild places shrink, trips like these will dwindle with time. Thanks for shedding light on just how beautiful our home really is. Happy trails and heavy packs.

      Went back this past fall and unfortunately got rained out big time! Could’ve made a film about it but decided against it as it would’ve been a bit underwhelming. A couple of films coming this spring then back at it in ‘24! God bless and thanks for watching!

    hands down the best Appalachian hunting video to date! On par with argali and all the high end western hunting channels and hopefully will encourage more to get out in Appalachia and hunt the backcountry that few people enter anymore. If you get high into Haywood county NC near fines creek you'll find bear... and maybe even a handful of grouse.

      Hey im new to hunting, am i allowed to go on the Appalachian trail and hunt for my food as well in georgia? Im confused between wma and the hiking trail, is there an area where you can do both?

    • @jackson.c.miller
      @jackson.c.miller  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Danbae69 So I can only speak to Virginia, but the way it works here is both National Forest lands and Wildlife Management Areas are considered public land and are completely legal to be hunted so long as you have purchased your annual hunting license and are hunting in season fro the animal you are targeting. Each state has its own set of hunting laws, then break it down from there by county. The seasons vary from county to county by each animal - so I would encourage you to find out what county you are interested in hunting in (first by finding the area) then looking into its hunting regulations for deer, bear, or turkey individually. All of that information is available online by searching it up for your state. The hiking trails vary from trail to trail but if it is the Appalachian Trail, you cannot hunt within 150 yards of it. The WMA we hunted here had no such trail so we were all good. Read up on the area you are hunting and find someone online who can give advice on that area because it varies. I would encourage you to go out with others first as well for safety's sake until you know the area very well. God bless and thanks for watching!

    Great video and representation as sportsmen. I killed my first bear with my bow in the north Ga Appalachian mountains after trying for 3 years each fall. It's not an easy task and when it comes together for you it will be worth all the miles hiked. I enjoy solo hunting for the reasons you mentioned about connecting with nature, God and learning more about yourself while honing your instincts.
