  • Unicorn bubble scoops are adorable and amazing bubble bath makers!! Plus, they're really easy & really fun to make!
    RECIPE: 1/2 cup baking soda (125 grams), 1/8 cup citric acid (25 grams), 1/4 cup cream of tartar (50 grams) [or use starch, baking soda, or clay], 1/2 cup SLSa -Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (80 grams), 20 milliliters fragrance oil, 5 milliliters emulsifier (polysorbate 80), 15 milliliters surfactant (bubble bath) [or ANY other surfactant; coco betaine is also a great choice], 15 milliliters oil (sweet almond) [or glycerin, oil, butter].
    Mix dry together then divide. Add color powder to each. Last, add wet ingredients to each. Mix well until dough pulls together. The dough will be crumbly. If mix puffs up, stir it until it's no longer puffy. Fill your scoop & pack it. Make the top as flat as possible. Release scoop on a flat surface. Add decoration immediately after scooping. Dry scoops for 24 hours. Medium scoops are 40-50 grams each.
    ** COMMON ISSUES ** 1. Can't get a scoop to form. Pack scoop well. 2. Mix isn't holding together to form a scoop OR 3. Scoops are falling apart after you've successfully scooped a few. Your mix isn't wet enough or has dried out; add a bit of liquid at a time (butter/oil, bubble bath, glycerin), mixing after each addition until mix sticks together. 4. Scoops are sticking to everything & won't come out. Mix is too wet; add a bit of dry (baking soda or SLSa) at a time, mixing after each addition. 5. Mix is puffing up. Too much wet was added or wet was added too quickly. Wait until mixture is no longer puffy. Or, you could add more dry (but I'd choose the first option). 6. Scoops are expanding or growing. Mix is too wet. Re-scoop them until they no longer grow OR combine all scoops in bowl, mash them down, & wait until mix is no longer puffy to scoop them a final time. 7. Scoops won't come out no matter what. You may have a faulty scooper or a scooper that's not right for this job!

    I’m not sure if/when FF will restock Cotton candy eco glitter [CCEG] as they ran out a couple years ago. [CCEG] is more like a large flake-mica; it’s very lightweight & super delicate. The closest thing to CCEG that I know of are NS's “eco glitters”. They’re named “eco glitter” too, but have all the qualities of a large-flake mica. Use them one at a time or combine them to create a rainbow effect. [CCEG] is more iridescent rather than rainbow, so it’s not the exact same, but they're all gorgeous none the less

    😍 luuuuv it! Wish there was an alternative way to make those voluminous bubbles w/o having to use a lot of SLSA 🥴. I go through so much SLSA because hey let’s face it, those bubbles are fun to make bubble bath snowmen or hats or horns hahhaha...yes I haven’t outgrown my dorky kidness! I don’t think I want to either. I still make bubble sculptures when I have huge foamy bubbles like that! 🤣

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      First of all girl don’t play with me you already know I love building monsters, snowmen, literally whatever I can in the bubbles! on top of that u know I’ve always been into bubble bath beards, face masks, Santa hats, etc! I normally only use half the amount of SLSA but this time I just decided to use double- but you don’t have to use that much! cut it in half or even a fourth if you want to! it’ll still make great bubbles, just not as many!

    Beautiful and simple..love the video and may try your recipe but a bit less slsa as its so expensive. I noticed that I have never seen you mention vanilla stabilizer in any of your videos. do you ever use it to prevent bath bombs/ bubble bars/scoops from turning brown from any vanilla in the fragrances? When you separated the mix to do the colors then added the wet, was that 3 separate batches?

    Dora, could you advise where we could find cotton candy fragrance oil? Every time I’m about to buy some, I see where people are complaining that it smells nothing like cotton candy so I don’t know which company to get some from. Do you have a company that you’ve bought cotton candy from that turned out nice? Any help would be appreciated.

    • @CreativeBathLab
      @CreativeBathLab  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there. I feel the same way when recommending scents bc scents are subjective; something that I love - you may dislike. Anyways, I am sorry I cant help you with the cotton candy scent. I bought one a long time ago but I don't even think it's safe for skin. If wanting a really sweet sugary scent, I like pink sugar or snow fairy- both from www.theflamingcandle.com/. For this project I used "champagne toast". I got that from Fizz Fairy. This may help as well. th-cam.com/video/GbDjA_-nqiM/w-d-xo.html

      Sorry Mary, I strongly disagree. No offense or anything but like I stated earlier I’ve done this a lot and I am very familiar with vanilla stabilizer… if/when the day comes that you need it, I will tell you that you do. I always allow my bath bombs (at least one of them) to mature for several months (so I can observe it & record things) and i’ve never had them turn yellow/brown - & I’ve used all sorts of vanilla fragrance oils, essential oils, blended oils, candle fragrance, etc. I’ll tell you that the only issue I ever had with vanilla was with making candles but I will definitely watch this batch closely & if during that time it turns brown I will definitely 100% update this comment!!!!!!! I mean no disrespect bc I LOVE it when people comment or try to help others.
