- In the process of moving Windows 10 from Legacy BIOS to UEFI using mbr2gpt command you might encounter the error that says "disk layout validation failed for disk 0" error. In this video I've addressed one of the reason behind this error.
My friend I just want to say a massive thank you 😊. Your videos have been very help full you literally had a video for every step and road block I faced. Your a legend mate.
Glad to help! Thanks for taking the time to comment.
I had the problem "cannot find room for the efi system partition" when trying to use MBR2GPT. (There actually was 1.5 GB free unused space). I ran the C: drive Properties/Tools/Error Checking which found and fixed some problems. Then the MBR2GPT successfully finished. Thank you for your helpful videos, including the one about "Cannot find OS partition". I had that problem too, which your video gave the correct solution. Best regards.
Thank you, I had like 4 partitions. Two recovery ones. After I removed one unused recovery partition, I was able to convert it from MBR to GPT and enable it in my BIOS for Windows 11.
Glad I could help
How did u delete one of youre recovery ones ?
Thank you so much for all of your videos on the MBR2GPT topic! You made my day!
Perfect. This answered all the questions about the issues I was having converting from MBR to GPT. Keep up the good work.
Glad it helped!

This is it 👍👍👍 ... simply and effective !!! Thanks Bro !!!
hi, u know something about this error? "Cannot create EFI system partition. Error: 0x000036B7"
same here
/Validate works fine.
/Convert it says Cannot find room for the EFI system partition (I have 130GB free on C:)
I have tried some unallocated space and tried to convert that into EFI & NTFS & New Volume & left it blank.
Tried in windows PE environment & disabling reagentc.
Layout is: System reserved - C: - Recovery (3 or less as required)
I have asked ChatGPT Google TH-cam I still cannot get this to work out and I don't know why.
I have just 2 partition and this is still not working, cannot fing room for the EFI system partition
love u brooo cant imagine this happend fiinaly sub earned!!!! u r god!!!
Thanks for the sub bro!
What if i can t shrink the disk?
Please help, I managed to do everything you said here. After I converted, I restarted the laptop. Chose uefi. Efi on bios shows only efi pxe network. And now it won't boot windows 10 at all.
Do you have more than one ssd/hdd?
Thank you so much! Worked great.
You're welcome!
hello, i have a logical drive and what should i do
Hello! If I may ask, I want to know why the available space to shrink for my disk is lower than 10240; the available space to shrink is only 1273. Thank you!
Hello, Please check this link th-cam.com/video/X-0R7Q_vhmw/w-d-xo.html
Hi, thank you so much for great tutorial! I have a question. Will it be able to restore Bios settings if I update (M-Flash) the Bios or convert BIOS to UEFI from Legacy?
Updating BIOS won't change any settings
When i was try to convert mbr2gbt it's get error Cannot find room for the EFI system partition. Please give me the solution.
did u fix this out?
i deleted my recovery partition, and merged it into the next partition, leaving only 3. mbr2gpt would not work now due to the missing recovery partition even with it disabled. so stuck now
Please check my "Cannot find OS partition" video
@@itarmy2778 got it. had to remove the key using bcdedit. thank you. saw your vid on it
Thanks for the guide , worked like a charm, but I cannot enable rec agent - C:\WINDOWS\system32>reagentc /enable
REAGENTC.EXE: Operation failed: 2
REAGENTC.EXE: An error has occurred.

Hey man, you've been great. I've watched about 4 of your videos and I keep getting closer to solving my issue, but now I get to "convert" and its stating "cannot find room for the EFI system partition. Conversion failed. I've got a clear partition of 20gbs that I've formatted. I go into the error logs and it states validate layout: unrecognized partition found, index 3. Disk layout validation failed for disk 2. Getdevicevolume: cannot get nt path for entry. Can you help?
I guess you had partitions with id other than 7.
Perfect, thank you!
Thanks for watching
Big thanks!
You're welcome!
wow it's very cool thanks a lot
Thanks you so much! It works.
You're welcome!
You are a life saver!!!
Thanks
Thank you so much!!!
Can you help me? I changed to gpt with your help but now when changed to uefi in bios pc won't boot.
Ensure GPT disk is at the top in boot priority if you have multiple disks and disable boot support.
Did you find a solution? I'm having the same problem on my lenovo legion 5. Nothing beside efi pxe network shows on the boot list. Im panicking
@@macroftStudio I had to delete my data eventually.
Thanks man. It's worked.
You're welcome!
Thanks alot your video helped
Glad it helped
Meu erro foi por conta da partição do Linux, tive que excluir e deu certo.
@itarmy2778 Hey man, i tried what you said at the end to enable my recovery partition again but it didn't work instead it said: REAGENTC.EXE: error in the operation: 2
REAGENTC.EXE: An error was produced.
My pc is in Spanish so that's a translation of what appeared to me in command prompt, it might be different, eitherway hope you can help :D
thanks man
!! you save my day
Glad I could help!
thank you very much bro
Always welcome
I worked right for me until 5:40 - When I try to convert it shows me the message ''cannot find room for the efi system partition''. Any thoughts on how to fix it?
I figured out I had to expand the Hard Drive partition that was not alocated, to at least about 2gb. But I wasnt allowed because my problem was with System Volume Information. So I had to go to Control Panel, System, Recovery, and allow me 2gb to use for the UEFI. Then it worked!
By the way, thank you very much... it worked! haha
@@NicholasAndrew1 bro i have the same problem "'cannot find room for the efi system partition" and my english is very bad, can you make a video? i nedd to see step by step

Mine is in UEFI and it doesn't find the drive as a bootable one in BIOS anymore. It also doesn't boot in legacy.
@@vesanius1mine worked now, I have downloaded windows 11 in pendrive and booted from uefi it worked
@@itarmy2778 followed your instructions. Deleted recovery partition. Mbr to gpt conversion. When I restart the pc,I get the message "Boot Device Not Found"
Any idea how to solve this issue?
i have 2 par recovery

Unfortunately uninstallation did not work for me( still gives the error Cannot find room for the EFI system partition.
did u find out the solution??
Thx!!!
No problem
bro i formated everthing wtf 1:51
Format command can't format windows partition. Looks like you selected wrong disk or partition.
@@itarmy2778 but why would you format it in the first place i dont understand.
@@itarmy2778 with my data gone it was easy to convert :( all i had to do was delete the formated partition and then i had enough space for conversion.
I was formatting the newly created partition
