That’s awesome!! Good luck with your studies!!!
10 skills: "He who sweats more in training, bleeds less in war. " A huge amount of information will be thrown at you. Start to learn it asap!
1. Design Boards. A collection of images put together. Design direction: color, palette, theme, vibe, mood you want to create. Mood boards, concept boards, furniture boards, material boards.
2. Composition (primarily used in arts field, such as music, photography, painting, writing). Good composition includes a balance and variety in shapes, colors, and materials to create a pleasing environment. Principles and elements of design. Other disciplines of arts.
3. Communication. Interior design presentations. Job opportunities and design businesses.
4. Softwares. Sketchup (2D & 3D) + AutoCAD
5. Terminology. Interior design vocabulary. eg. Window treatment, upholstery, wainstcotting, hue, shingles, lumen, layered, faux, facade, CRI, sheen, clerestory, siding, trim, hue, focal point, vessel sink, vaulted, lever, niche, etc.
6. Drawing and sketching. Before digitalize it. Turn your abstract ideas into the fine concepts. Don't need to be a perfect drawer. Making your point through rough sketch.
7. Seven elements of design. Space, light, texture, line, pattern, color, and form. (Link in below)
8. Principles of design. Balance, unity, rhythm, emphasis, contrast, scale and proportion, harmony. (Link in below)
9. Standard measurements. Every single measurement inside public and private spaces. Widths, heights, depths, sizes of everything. Memorize them and know it by heart. Make the process faster. Bring a measuring tape and measure every single thing you see.
10. Materials. Not all design programs will teach the in-depth of construction materials. Not the foundation concrete in your world, but the materials that interior designers will choose to design spaces. Counter material, floor material, fabrics of chairs. Suitable for that application. eg. Marbles. A soft stone can chip and stain very easily.

Yes please to a video about Elements and Principles of design
Glad to find this channel. Is it necessary to learn coding and 3d animation to actually learn interior design?
Hi there, no it’s not. We make 3D renderings, but not animations.
Hey I love all your videos and gonna watch many more. Thank you it made me understand easier about the course. Btw you currently live in Canada right, so like how are the job opportunities over there, really wanted to know and also which university you had gone for during your school/college years. Hope you reply to this.💗
Hi there, I am happy that you like the content! Yes, there are good job opportunities for designers, the school you attend also plays a role, most employers are looking for people who studied at CIDA accredited institutions, here in Vancouver there are two as far as I know: BCIT and Kwantlen, hope that helps ✨
@@aandreatru Thank you so much for your reply💗
Thanks for this amazing useful video. The word "Hue" is repeated in recommended terminology to learn.
Yes , hue means color, it’s a design term :)
How can I improve my communication skills, I have a hard time expressing my thoughts or getting my point across
Andrea, how many years would you say one needs to become a self-employed designer working only on the projects they really love starting from zero? Thanks
Well, that’s hard to answer but to gain enough experiences on the field I would say 4-5 years are what you need. Also depends on how many projects you work on, the more you work the better and the more knowledge you will gain to become self-employed.
Which school you recommend in low Angeles ?
Woow...you are so friendly 💗
You reply every comment and read it...
Reply me too...✌️i am 14 years old...i watch your vedios for the age 12.. thank you for helping and making me more comfortable to be interior designer....make more vedios💗
Thank you so much for commenting and for the nice words ! 🤩🤩✨cheers!
@@aandreatru hey Andrea...... friends?✌️
Software is the part of interior which we learn while pursuing our studies of interior .. i don't think that we can learn that before & if someone does that it's very very good for him/her .. btw Excellent video ma'am .. Intense knowledge is the key ( ❤️ from India )
Yes I agree with you, this could be something not so easy to learn before hand, but I have known people who have learned sketchup all by themselves so that is pretty cool, cheers✨✨
Hey I am also from India and my first yr class is starting next week and I don't have any much idea about interior design can tell things to buy
@@nivethak3915 Well I'm a newbie too but I guess your first class will be an introduction so just stay relax and confident .. and practically things u can carry are mentioned on some yt videos .. best of luck 🤞❤️
Okeyyyy😄✨
@@nivethak3915 i will make a video about the things that I have been requested in school, stay tuned.
60- 30- 10 tana Tan... using any color scheme, how do u see
can you send me the image of tableau at the wall in your background
Hey!! I'm rn a plustwo student and I'm really confused about selecting my major I wanna study design but not sure if that's graphic design, interior design,ui/ux design.which is good among this.. and which has more opportunities..and which is the best college for design etc..can anyone who has majored in design speak about this👀
I can’t tell about graphic or ui/ux design cause I am not very familiar with those careers but interior design has opportunities depending in the country that you live, here in Canada there are good opportunities while in my hometown (Mexico) there weren’t as many. If you are looking for good colleges, there is many, you just want to make sure that they are CIDA accredited, not all schools are and this accreditation ensures that the program is up to date with industry standards. Hope that helps✨
Which book we should prefer before taking interior designer course. I am in 11std with commerce stream so with my study of 11th with other books I should prefer
I made a video with my book recommendations you can watch here:

i’m planning on going the interior design field when i go to college in 2025, do you have suggestions of the best state to study and eventually work in?
Hi there, Which country are you looking at to study design?
@@aandreatru usa
Hi andrea i want to know something actually i cant drowning picture 😂 honestly i cant drowning heart or tree so i want to now can i be a interior designer ?
I think you can! Not all designers know how to draw, that’s totally fine, I think it’s a good skill to learn but it’s up to you whether you want to learn it.
Which book should be taken for learning sketching before taking interior designer
There is a book called architectural graphics it’s really good for learning how to sketch
Do we have any special sketchings to practise before entering to interior design school
I also wanna know about any ways to gather knowledge on materials please
@@veronicapark1420
You will learn sketching once you are in school, so I wouldn’t worry much😊
There is a book called: interior design materials and specifications, I would say getting really good books on materials is really helpful :)
Well I know this question is weird but I still want to know the answer 😅😅😅 I hope you don't mind! Since interior design is a course that teaches both theory and terminology alot l, does it mean that the course will have a lot of paper exam instead of just having to do project essay and report?
Hi there! I did have tests for theory yes :( specially when you are just starting and learning about history of design, design theory, colour theory, etc. But normally later in the program you will have more projects and less exams (at least that was my case when I was in school) hope that helps :)
@@aandreatru Thank you so much for responding. If it possible can you please make a video about giving tip of how we should review for exam and what we should know best?
Can interior designer pursue architecture
Yes, some universities have a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design and after you can continue into a Masters in architecture which would take around two years to complete. However, not all universities have this option.
Please is interior design related to furniture design and also can interior designer create furniture works
I will try to make a video on it soon
@@aandreatru ok thanks
Please make a video on standard dimesions
I ll try to make one soon✨
I’m 14 years old and I want to become an interior designer but I’m scared that I don’t know how to draw I suck at drawing also I don’t know software
I didn’t know drawing or software when I was 14 either, it’s something you can learn so you should be fine :)
Where are you from ma'am?
I am from Mexico :)
Sketchup? Really? I'm using Sketchup now because it's free and I'm broke, but it's a pig of a program to work with!
It doesn't tell you your coordinates except at the origin, all its lines and planes automatically engage with each other and different layers can't use the same plane unless you create separate objects, and the colours change drastically and very unrealistically when you change camera angle.
How is this the best software you can find?
Catapilers above her eyes lol
Hey! I was in a big confusion to where to ahead in the career
Gonna pass my school after 2 months and this video really hepled me to understand about interior designing
Thanks a lot 🤍
Glad I could help!
