One of the most amazing collections of all times. Mr. M.i.b. you are a great collector. From Andres j. In kissimmee florida. May God always bless all Americans forever 🙏.
nice awesome video MIB ,Yes this line really hits the spot ,as a kid at the time ,superheros were the rage ,as much as i loved trek ,apes etc ,the DC /Marvel superheros were at stores much longer and extended lines .its fun to have the classics back & with all the new characters we dreamed to have ,i was one of those snot noes kids that was saying " wheres flash ,green lantern and brainiac ? etc just like it will be with Marvel " wheres daredevil ,dr doom & x-men " 5o years later were getting them ,better late ( very late ) then never at all .i like both Mego & FTC figures ,ill collect them all ,just like you ,thanx for sharing
Excellent points my friend !!! I have been waiting for Firestorm, Brainiac and Deadman for decades hahaha !!! I finally have them in Mego goodness now !!!
Yes, I think the Mego monsters and Star Trek and Apes are probably done. I like the monsters and horror figures as well and collected them, but I think they could be over. I'm a Batman collector, so I'm very happy with this line that I had as a kid back in the 70s. With the upcoming Marvel figures things could get crazy with collectors, can you imagine if the make a Daredevil or Black Panther. Look Out! Great episode my friend.
Awesome Video. My eyes are playing tricks on me. Let me look at my Calendar to see if the Year is 1974, lol!!!! WOW!!! 50th Anniversary Figures look AMAZING!!! MEGO, along with new Retro Star Wars Figures are going to break-up my marriage - I struggle to pay the bills each month, but yet I have a nice Toy Collection. My wife's gonna kill me, lol!!!! I read somewhere that Star Trek Retro Mego's are coming soon. I didn't hear anything about the Marvel Characters - I want to see a 'Black Panther' and a 'Doctor Doom' Mego, yes!!! I might have to get that 3rd job after all, sigh!!!!! And for the record, Toys R Us Stores in the 70's had the BEST MEGO Section ever, yep! I still can't find Green Arrow in my local Walmarts, DARN!!!!!!!
Hahahaha, I think we all have that eye problem my friend haha !!! Anything Marvel would be fantastic !!! Everything you named would sell like hotcakes !!!!
The Red Son Superman with the Soviet symbol and weapons, just kills it as the most interesting super hero. I think the POTA, Star Trek figures will be around in variations. More to come in April there. Monsters depends on what they come up with. Leatherface was the last one I got. I wouldn't mind a return of the unlicensed knights, cowboys that they had in the 70's. Unlikely as Marvel is their focus.
Great video, M.I.B.! Yes, without question this is Mego's best and most popular line. And I cannot wait for the Marvel 50th to come out! Hopefully we'll also get more DC 50th, too.
So cool MIB. My favourites are Dr fate. Superman. Batman. I had a batman & robin figures when I was a kid. I kept my fingers crossed mego make planet of the apes anniversary figures. More ape soldiers different uniforms. More horror figures.
@m.i.bmastertoymuseum1979 I'll get my loose and boxed figures. Last year at this time, I didn't have one single Mego in my collection. But after finding the first 2 Green Lantern and Aquaman I had to get the rest of them. They really brought back memories, now it's WGSH and Planet of the Apes and Star Trek. Along with my 12 inch GiJoe and Action Man figures current as well as vintage.
Finding one Mego figure that you really like, definitely starts an avalanche of more great figures being added to your collection and all of a sudden, you have a fantastic collection
As someone who was born 30 years after action figures in this style were popular, I am relishing in being able to buy ‘vintage’ versions of some of my favorite characters
Straight to the Point, yes! Honestly, I really don't know a whole lot about the Mego Corp. But I do know that Mego Corp has been Popular Brand since 1971-1983 in the Past. Mego Corp came back later 2018-2019-2023 afterwards. The reason why they reissued and making more Action Figures? So die hard Fans Collectors, could get a chance to collect again. Especially those who Missed out too. And lastly the other reason, Mego Corp became the most Popular Brand? They got their inspiration Based on Comics, Movies, TV Series, Etc. And depending on the Popularity of the Characters mostly seen and heard. My Favorite Mego Line, is the DC Mego Wave. I have a few DC 14 inch Mego in my Collection. My Favorite of the bunch, is Superman. Superman was the most Popular Character back then, until Now. That was the most Awesome and Challenging Question ever! Thanks M.I.B! 🤩🤩😃👍👍
By the way I love your display and those colors pop right out of the 70’s! I could see these in a counter display box at Woolworth. And oh boy when Marvel finally comes out it will be chaos and figures will go fast! Since all we’ve been seeing is DC from Mattel , FTC and MEGO. Gotta start saving the pennies!
Thanks so much my friend !!Hahahaha I’m definitely saving my pennies too hahaha !!! I’m super excited about Marvel !!! Collectors are going to lose their minds over the Marvel figures come out !!! I absolutely agree with you my friend !!!
Woolworth brings back fond memories !!! Mego figures were definitely a staple in the toy aisle at Woolworth for sure !!! Definitely miss those days, but like you said these new Mego DC figures definitely remind me of those days of looking at the display box at Woolworth and begging my mom to buy me a Mego Superman
Wat I'm gonna say is this. I played with all those different lines of mego wen they came out in the 70s. Dc/Marvel Comics were super Big in the 70s, B4 WGSH came the only figures representing ur favorite super heroes were hard plastic solid color figures in static positions. I think made by marx toys. My 1st mego super hero was removable cowl batman type 1 body. I was hooked couldn't believe my comic heroes were finally made correctly 4 the time period. Even cooler was it was marvel and dc heroes as time went on.. The memories of play with these figures was hours of fun!!!! These new ones for the old skool guys like myself is just bringing us back to that place, and that's why these figures are in demand. There was no1 making our favorite super heroes in plastic in the 70s den mego came and we were going nuts. The commercials were great, it also seemed that in every paper THERE was advertising of the WGSH figures. These 50 anniversary figs are taking us back there, and we will get them all even the Marvel ones cant wait.. Love the star trek and apes But I remember playing more with the WGSH. Keep them coming mego . You see the 50th WGSH are being made to look just like the ones we played with as kids that's why we are chasing dem. Make the retro anniversary star trek figures in the same Olds style as the 70s originals watch how they will sell like the WGSH. We like new but we love old original and that's wats going on. New mego made batman superman but they ain't selling like the 50th. It's about memories, nostalgia and love for the original. Keep up the great work MIB always great topics and super great toy eye candy.👍
Beautifully stated my friend !!! I would love to see 50th Anniversary Star Trek figures !!! The 50th Anniversary Super Hero figures definitely were my favorites back in the 1970’s !!!!
I mostly have the large mego figures but this video is really tempting me to get more 8 inch figures. One thing I love about mego it's that they've kept their original body shape.
I mean, how do you explain to anyone that wasn’t a kid in the mid 70s just how prevalent the Mego Worlds Greatest Superheroes were during that era? It’s like having a PlayStation or an X-Box today. The 50th Anniversary figures are the reason I’m here, and I’ll be all over the Marvel figures as well. I don’t want to see the other lines fall by the wayside, though. One thing we have to be careful of with WGSH is too much of a good thing. That’s why I’m a little torn on the Wave 18 figures. Not because I don’t think they’re great, but because would we really have seen many of those characters from Mego circa 1973-1977? Flash and Green Lantern were slam dunks. Just about every kid that had Megos wanted them. It gets a little more difficult after that. I can see Red Tornado, because he was a member of the Justice League of America. I can see Brainiac and Bizarro. I don’t think Firestorm even debuted until 1978, and I don’t think he joined the JLA until the early 80s. Dick Grayson didn’t become Nightwing until the mid 80s, and I don’t think he had that costume until the mid 90s. I’m not trying to be a hater. I have Dr. Fate, Firestorm, and Red Tornado on preorder, and I’m sure I’ll pick up a few more before it’s all said and done. I just think the best strategy is to keep it tight, put out a couple of 50th Anniversary figures each wave, and then there’s plenty of room to take care of the rest of the Mego fans.
Fantastic comments my friend !!!! Too much of a good thing could hurt the Mego 50th Anniversary figures, I definitely agree with that ! Adding a few into other waves sounds like a great idea to me too !!! Everything you are saying is correct and facts !!! You could never be labeled as a hater. Hopefully with the Marvel figures due out soon, Mego will stick to the original characters first, like The Hulk (original size) The Thing ( original size) , Spider-Man, Captain America, The Falcon, Thor and I would love to see the Teen Titans !!!!! Mego could then start to add more original characters that we had and newer characters that we wished we had in the 1970’s , but ease these figures into other waves throughout the year. This way collectors would be able to save up money and be able to add more of their favorite characters to their collection, without having to miss out on their favorites .
I can’t pick sides as I’m a fan of everything MEGO puts out! Can’t wait for the Marvel line to come out! Hopefully around the fall or around Christmas. I also wonder if MEGO will re release the DC girls line with cat woman, supergirl, Wonder Woman, Batgirl and Isis. Maybe not the last two as they were too close to the 1960-70’s shows. But still cool to see as they were a part of the hero line. I know FTC released the titans I wonder if MEGO will take a chance on that again and maybe bring it up a notch.
Wonderful comments and fantastic ideas, about what Mego should come out with next !!! I would love to see the Super Gals back in the Lineup for Mego !!! Hopefully we will get Marvel sooner, just because I can’t wait hahaha !!! Mego is definitely doing a fantastic job !!!
We are in a new peak era of DC toy figures for sure The Mego 50th and McFarlane’s Superpowers lines are redoing, re-interpreting and expanding their original classic DC lines in ways that are FAR EXCEEDING my greatest hopes these days And now it’s just wishlisting B and C level characters that have smaller fan bases (and I include myself in that group) And they are SELLING, and we need Mego (and McFarlane) to sell large number of figures to stay in business. And it’s the top sellers that allow the production of the lower run figures So in the long run this focus on DC 50th for now helps ALL the other lines in the future And when Marvel figures hit, those will get all the attention… but along the way we will end up getting more Trek, Monsters and Apes I am thoroughly convinced. But let Mego seize the day for the financial longevity of the entire variety of characters Thanks for another great discussion prompting video my friend Make Mine Mego and MIB! Thanks
Excellent statement my brother !!! I believe one line of toys success can open the door for other lines of toys for Mego !! Star Trek definitely has the following and characters to do both along with the horror line of figures !!!!
I absolutely agree with you, when I was setting up these beautiful figures, I had no idea how many figures Mego has produced already !!! It’s crazy and like you said wait until we get the ladies in the collection
I'm 100% on "team monsters", with a strong like for the apes, so it is disheartening to see so much focus on the superheroes. Having said that, I'm just thrilled that Mego even exists. They've already brought us so many great figures, ones I never thought we would see, such as the Hammer line, so I'm content to sit back and watch them ride this wave while wishing them nothing but success. Hopefully all that success will be spread around some more in the future once they've tapped out the heroes line a bit, and everyone else's time can come again.
I absolutely enjoyed reading your fantastic comments on this topic of discussion !!!! It’s definitely disheartening to see the majority of the focus on the Superhero line of figures but I’m with you about being thrilled to see Mego back !!! While I’m definitely Team Superheroes, I would love to see more focus placed on the Monsters and Star Trek !!! I’m excited to see what Mego brings in the near future !!!!
Given how much more mainstream Marvel and DC characters are than those other franchises in modern popular culture I wouldnt be suprised. Not to mention how much better the presentation is with these vs the standard Mego cards. I collect both so I'm happy either way but I'd love some monsters/Trek figures in colourful display boxes!
It's a matter of "How much is left?" in the lines? Who's left in PotA? Nova, maybe Kolp, Armando if they wanted to reuse the Diamond Select Khan? Star Trek, there's still Rand, Chapel, maybe Arex and M'Ress, but they overdid the Kirk and Spock variants early on. There's more room to groove on the WGSH figures. Kind of hoping the earlier anniversary figures come out on Kresge cards. Not a fan of the boxes.
@@m.i.bmastertoymuseum1979 I have a vintage toy channel..mostly Star Wars but some Mego. Just did a video on Mego Happy Days: th-cam.com/video/Ckrlmqdkp80/w-d-xo.htmlsi=in0EM4d_nroMaCIQ
me as well waited most life to get them back and these are legit close to the originals as anything ever possibly made again! @@m.i.bmastertoymuseum1979
I will say this I miss seeing Mego’s at the stores and on the pegs. Mego going to only online really sucks for the guys who love the thrill of the hunt. Mego also should have made more of the 50th variants cause to be honest they did it on purpose to drive up the secondary market value of the figures. Now after seeing this I want a Firestorm figure and a green arrow to round out the 50th anniversary line.
I'd say for now the 50th anniversary heroes are Mego's most popular brand. But throw the horror line in those fabulous window boxes and perhaps my mind would be changed.
I can't find the Red Flash 50th anniversary figure anywhere to purchase. Why is that so scarce? Does anyone know where that might be available to purchase
The 50th Anniversary Flash figure is extremely difficult to find, all of the toy websites that I know, are sold out of the Flash, your question is a valid one, my friend, I can’t understand how this figure simply isn’t available anywhere now. Maybe at some point this figure will return to Walmart, or one of the toy websites, but for now the Flash is definitely one of the most popular and sought after Mego figures from the 50th Anniversary lineup
The 50th anniversary superhero figures from mego is on another epic level of quality this just shows mego could make all their other lines of figures in this quality some people have given up because of the hard to find they should sell them anywhere they can so everybody does not have to drive to the end of the Earth to get them more availability tomorrow's successful and amazing company to stay around forever and ever figures everywhere yes superhero is more popular than monsters but if they step up the monster quality even more it will become popular even more too yes people shouldn't have to waste gas to go all over looking for him it should be able to go anywhere and go wow I found it I found two hunting for figures is fun availability is key every line should be in this quality and make more anniversary lines in this extreme epic quality make yes you're right it's a perfect storm drops the best figures right now every figure they have should be at this quality play everything is at an all-time high add fever pitch now amigo can just make other lines this quality they would be set and everyone would be set and satisfied
Beautifully stated Matt !!! Quality and availability should be the priority !!! Everyone should be able to enjoy these beautiful figures in and out of the box, and they should be able to find these beautiful figures
@stevensanchez1561 Thanks my friend !!! I think it’s looking like Two Face, just judging from the orders for him and that he’s practically sold out everywhere. Bizarro is coming on strong too !!!
I don't think Mego would stop producing anything that made money. If CHEERS had been giant sellers, we would be seeing Lilith and Harry the Hat figures in wave 18!! If Star Trek, Apes, and Monsters, etc still have retailer interest and strong sales, they will continue.
I think the DC eight inch superheroes may have surpassed the monsters and Star Trek and Planet of the Apes figures . But I’ve bought more monster figures from Mego since they came back .
Great question my friend !!! I personally haven’t heard anything outside of the usual talk from fellow collectors, that the Marvel figures could be released later this year or by early 2025. There was talk that the Marvel figures could be exclusive to Disney World resorts and theme parks, which has caused some confusion and frustration among collectors
Great question my friend !!! The difference between the two Robins are their outfits. One Robin is the classic style Robin figure from the 1970’s and the other Robin is a variant Robin that’s styled to look like the 1966 Batman TV show. The 1966 Robin has painted green hands and green gauntlets to look like gloves. this version also has the classic style red tunic with striped buttons down the tunic. The cape is also disconnected from the outfit for a more traditional look
Another I see the belt is black on the Adam west robin and the glows look like the hands instead of gloves where they exclusives like for a con or can you get them any where like the ones that never came to my Walmart is Shazam the red flash and the green arrow.
@@joestanley8692 Great Observation my friend !!! The Variant Robin with the black belt was an exclusive from Big Lots retail stores. Extremely difficult to find for collectors and more popular than the regular Robin figure
Dame man I have to go to big lots and see if the figures are there. The four I was looking at is the Adam west Batman the Adam west robin the purple glove joker and the Superman that looks like the kingdom come Superman. Are all these at big lots

My thoughts exactly they caught my eye right away, man!!

And it’s the top sellers that allow the production of the lower run figures
So in the long run this focus on DC 50th for now helps ALL the other lines in the future
And when Marvel figures hit, those will get all the attention… but along the way we will end up getting more Trek, Monsters and Apes I am thoroughly convinced.
But let Mego seize the day for the financial longevity of the entire variety of characters
Thanks for another great discussion prompting video my friend
Make

Mego and MIB!
Thanks
Excellent statement my brother !!! I believe one line of toys success can open the door for other lines of toys for Mego !! Star Trek definitely has the following and characters to do both along with the horror line of figures !!!!
You just don't realize how many until you see 'em lined up like that... Wait until the ladies join the line!
I absolutely agree with you, when I was setting up these beautiful figures, I had no idea how many figures Mego has produced already !!! It’s crazy and like you said wait until we get the ladies in the collection
Where did you get these figures. I want them all. I am enjoying your video right now. Thank you
Thanks so much my friend !!! I purchased these beautiful figures from Movie Posters Etc.
Excellent breakdown my friend !!!
I know this will not happen but it would be nice to see Jack Kirby’s Marvel monsters from the 60’s in 14” from MEGO!
That would be fantastic !!!!
Excellent comments and points my friend !!!! Kresge cards would be so cool !!!
Yes, I believe the WGSH 50th Anniversary figures are now Mego's "bread & butter" assets.
Mego is doing big business with the 50th Anniversary Super Heroes !!!!
Great video. I just wanted Superman but they made his sticker emblem too big I think.
@@jartladder15 I agree with you my friend !!!
@@m.i.bmastertoymuseum1979 I have a vintage toy channel..mostly Star Wars but some Mego. Just did a video on Mego Happy Days: th-cam.com/video/Ckrlmqdkp80/w-d-xo.htmlsi=in0EM4d_nroMaCIQ
Big question is what is next for Mego? They have done alot.
Great question my friend !!!! I’m excited to see what they do next
NICE! Got 8 of em so far your set is glorious !
Thanks so much my friend !!!! I absolutely love these figures !!!
me as well waited most life to get them back and these are legit close to the originals as anything ever possibly made again!
I wish that we could get Mego back in stores again, how cool would that be !!!
I would say yes, and look at those colorful boxes!!
The boxes scream 1970’s hahaha !!!
50th Anniversary They Worthy of this Attention 🏅🎖️
I absolutely agree with you !!!!
Where do you get them I'm having a hard time finding some. And can you show all the 50 anniversary dc ones
I purchased my figures from Movie Posters Etc. They might still have a few of these beautiful figures left for sale
the whole time all i could think was where is riddler, penguin and mr mister mxyzptlk❣
Hahahaha, I will include those guys in the fun next time
I'd say for now the 50th anniversary heroes are Mego's most popular brand. But throw the horror line in those fabulous window boxes and perhaps my mind would be changed.
Oh I definitely agree with you my friend !!! The horror line will always be right there at the top !!
@@m.i.bmastertoymuseum1979 thank you so much I appreciate that very much for saying beautifully stated and your welcome
I never even saw the figures at any Big Lots in Oklahoma
Believe me I absolutely understand, I went to nearly a dozen stores before finally finding them
You're still doing some great videos. Mib, which villain do you think will be the most sought after?
@stevensanchez1561 Thanks my friend !!! I think it’s looking like Two Face, just judging from the orders for him and that he’s practically sold out everywhere. Bizarro is coming on strong too !!!
I don't think Mego would stop producing anything that made money. If CHEERS had been giant sellers, we would be seeing Lilith and Harry the Hat figures in wave 18!! If Star Trek, Apes, and Monsters, etc still have retailer interest and strong sales, they will continue.
Excellent points my friend !!!
Team dc and marvel🎯🙌🏾
Oh absolutely my friend !!!! All day everyday !!! DC and Marvel can’t be beat !!!
I think the DC eight inch superheroes may have surpassed the monsters and Star Trek and Planet of the Apes figures . But I’ve bought more monster figures from Mego since they came back .
The DC Super Heroes are definitely the bread and butter of Mego’s money making machine, but the monster line still is a close second
Whats the point? Cant find them anywhere.
They are extremely popular, hopefully they will get restocked
Are they going to make the marvel
I hope so. If I get more information, I will definitely share it on my channel
Mego 1939 Batman. 85th anniversay SIMPLE. GOOD GRIEF PEOPLE!!
Hahahaha
Any word when Mego will release the Marvel figures?
Great question my friend !!! I personally haven’t heard anything outside of the usual talk from fellow collectors, that the Marvel figures could be released later this year or by early 2025. There was talk that the Marvel figures could be exclusive to Disney World resorts and theme parks, which has caused some confusion and frustration among collectors
@@m.i.bmastertoymuseum1979 Thanks for the grit!
@petebutler5139 You are absolutely welcome my friend
Remember it's Trek Not Track.
Hahahaha I get that a lot when I say it super fast
You have two robins what the difference between them
Great question my friend !!!
@@joestanley8692 I hope you find these beautiful figures my friend !!! They are becoming extremely difficult to find
they have like 3 faces woman man and man with mask
Hahahaha
They look terrible
Hahahaha !!!
hell yes im getting marvel...
Absolutely !!!!
