Haha! I was there! I'm the exhausted looking kid in the Ramones shirt at about 4:45. Had driven 19 hours to get there, got arrested for speeding in SC and only had a couple of hours sleep right before the event.

Corley vs Wallace! This is the bout we ve always wanted to see! Joe got some shots in , but Bill "Superfoot" got the best hits! Wallace kicks are faster , much faster than must karate champions ever known . He has super quickness! He deserves the Hall of Fame! Bill "Superfoot " demonstrated in this fight his punching power as well as his feet skills! Does anyone HAVE the videos of Al Dacascos vs Chuck Norris bout? Or Joe Lewis vs Bong Yu in Hayward Ca. ? We would love to see these videos too! Please upload them!

Sure was good to see Asa again, thanks so much for posting ! Kudos to Sensia Joe. Still remember the first time you were in the ring with the electrician boxer above the seed and feed at Asa's boxing gym when we all started learning the hard way about full contact martial arts vs point karate. You were good to Asa and that is all that matters to me. Thanks for your great contribution to the martial arts in Atlanta and the world.

Jean eves Theriault, or a bit later Murry Sutherland, both world class boxer s or Rob Kaman would hospitalize super foot or any of these low skill ex Karate guys quickly, sorry but truth is truth ,Love Bill but his Boxing skill set is super amateur ish ,punching with one hand really, yet what these guys were doing was a million years ahead of the super cheesy no con contact garbage from Chuck Norris era which was flailing ridiculous nonsense

And Rob Karan I never knew of him but he was in a different weight class then Bill, and you say Bill can’t Box most of his wins by knockout was with his left hand?

The fight commentators didn’t know much about anatomy. “Well joe needed to stop kneel and take a break” He went down twice because Wallace hit him with two liver shots.

    • @acoversong4699
      @acoversong4699 ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah, I never saw the 'solar plexus' shots lol,
Wallace might have gotten a liver shot in there,
but I thought they were lots of rib shots going
on, hard to say exactly. But Wallace amazes me
of how well he does as a boxer, excellent puncher,
while having the best foot in the business,
      scary foot Wallace.

"just wondering why he never uses his right leg"
He injured his right leg when young its part of the "Superfoot legend" After the injury he did all kicks with left leg. During kick practise when others did 100 kicks with right and 100 with left leg. Bill Wallace would do 200 kicks with only the left leg. Where others had two feet, He had one superfoot.

As Joe stated, all kicks must be above the Waist in the PKA American Kickboxing matches. You also must attempt at least 6 strong kicks per round or you will be penalized. More information can be found here. www.ikfkickboxing.com/RulesFC.htm

OMG! It's Bill, Joe, Asa, and Larry all back together again! I helped as an assistant on the Atlanta fight at the Sheraton back in either 1979 or 1980, when Bill was doing an exhibition match with a radio personality who went by the name "Red Neckerson," and it was hilarious. Later that night the main event was "Action" Jackson -- one of my Joe Corley American Karate teachers -- against Benny "The Jet" Urquidez in Super Lightweight.
Joe was always a great guy, and Larry was a great and engaging teacher who really knew how to fight.
Asa Gordon was one of the original "OSS Men" back before the OSS became the CIA. Go to almost any boxing gym and you'll see pictures of him. Sugar Bert's Boxing Gym in Doraville, Georgia has them all over. Amazing man. Rest in peace, great warrior.
Bill Wallace was very kind to everyone and zero ego -- surprising for such a renowned fighter. I met him when he arrived a couple days early for the fight downtown.
I remember when John Belushi died and they mentioned on the news that Bill Wallace had found his body.

For some one known for his 75 MPH (in his prime) left leg (or was it it his right?) I don't think I've seen him KO any one with a kick. It's always been with a punch. Whereas Benny Urquidez has KO'd guys with his famous spinning back kick or a punch. As seen on his many available on TH-cam fights.
