Its ironic, David Gilmour has made me cry many many times from his guitar and voice hitting me in the feels. This is the very first time Roger Waters has made me cry. And he did it with the sheer weight of a song he didn't write over a musician I'll dearly miss. Roger made me cry. Larry made me weep. Bravo!
Roger Waters takes over the production… Brings the best out of the players, the song and the tribute to Mr. Helm…Thank you for making this opus available!
"Wide River to Cross" was written by Buddy Miller. Additionally, Larry Campbell is on violin and G.E. Smith on electric guitar. If you aren't familiar with these names, I highly recommend doing some homework.
Lyrics: There's a sorrow in the wind Blowing down the road I've been I can hear it cry while shadows steal the sun But I cannot look back now I've come too far to turn around And there's still a race ahead that I must run I'm only halfway home, I've gotta journey on To where I'll find, find the things I have lost I've come a long long road but still I've got some miles to go I've got a wide, a wide river to cross I have stumbled, I have strayed You can trace the tracks I made All across the memories my heart recalls But I'm still a refugee, won't you say a prayer for me? 'Cause sometimes even the strongest soldier falls I'm only halfway home, I've gotta journey on To where I'll find, I'll find the things I have lost I've come a long long road but still I've got some miles to go I've got a wide, a wide river to cross I'm only halfway home, I've gotta journey on To where I'll find, I'll find the things that I have lost I've come a long long road but still I've got some miles to go I've got a wide, a wide river to cross I've got a wide, a wide river to cross
Larry Campbell. He played in Dylan’s band for years. The last time I saw him with Dylan he played 8 different instruments. He left Dylan to be Levon Helm’s band leader.
Great version.....the best may be the one done by Levon, Buddy Miller and co. @ Live at the Ryman. This is one great honoring of Levon and Americana music
Buddy Miller wrote a great song with strong lyrics and his own solo rendition is unsurpassed. Levon made a very good version, but Roger Waters turned it into a drag, IMHO, in spite of the good efforts by Amy, Larry and GE.
@@gjs9441, you’re entitled but Larry was Levons’ bandleader and I’m sure he had no problem with this. Sure, parts of it remind me of Rogers style with Pink Floyd but he’s the one singing lead. Chill….as for the version on Ramble, that was Buddy singing lead. It was a fine version, in my opinion. Of course, you can tell Buddy you didn’t like it

Essa música tem uma letra q me leva fácil às lágrimas.
The lyrics brings tears to my eyes.
Lyrics:
There's a sorrow in the wind
Blowing down the road I've been
I can hear it cry while shadows steal the sun
But I cannot look back now
I've come too far to turn around
And there's still a race ahead that I must run
I'm only halfway home, I've gotta journey on
To where I'll find, find the things I have lost
I've come a long long road but still I've got some miles to go
I've got a wide, a wide river to cross
I have stumbled, I have strayed
You can trace the tracks I made
All across the memories my heart recalls
But I'm still a refugee, won't you say a prayer for me?
'Cause sometimes even the strongest soldier falls
I'm only halfway home, I've gotta journey on
To where I'll find, I'll find the things I have lost
I've come a long long road but still I've got some miles to go
I've got a wide, a wide river to cross
I'm only halfway home, I've gotta journey on
To where I'll find, I'll find the things that I have lost
I've come a long long road but still I've got some miles to go
I've got a wide, a wide river to cross
I've got a wide, a wide river to cross

the girl singing with roger waters is Amy Helm....levons daughter
No sheet, Sherlock
Waters doesn't look at her, not even during the applause.
@@gjs9441 huh? He glanced at her about five or six times! You want him staring her down?
@@craftiestdude Did he? I didn't see what or who he glanced at, but I hope you're right.

The video of Buddy, Emmy Lou, and a bass player is the best I’ve seen.
