Hey Explainers! Decided to cut a bit from this one. I've always loved every fan of every age that has ever approached me, and a joke I made about an awkward situation made it look like I was weirded out by my adult fans. Which is TOTALLY NOT true and I feel terrible I made anyone feel bad for watching my stuff! That's on me, and it's my failure as a storyteller and entertainer. My bad joke hurt members of my adult audience and made them feel like they didn't belong, which is NEVER what I have wanted for this channel. I apologize profusely for it. It will NOT be happening again. Goes to show you always have things to learn and ways to improve yourself no matter what age you are. Thanks for understanding, Explainers and Entertainers!

As someone who falls into the third of those categories, I appreciate that you said that.
Middle-aged people now (I'm 41) are very different than those from past generations, we grew up in a very different time. We can't afford to not keep up and we don't like being forced by society to only enjoy things intended for our age, we're a lot harder to shame than before. I saw what my dad thought was "correct" in his 40's and he was miserable. We're very much like you, only uglier, crankier and closer to death.

For real tho, I'm extremely glad the Animation community has so many adult viewers!:> It's about time animated creations aren't seen as kids' stuff. It's already upsetting enough that the generation before us still thinks that. When I'm much older I want to stand to my favorite TH-camrs and watch my favorite Disney movie without someone looking down on me and asking if I do that because they assume I have children. How foolish of them haha.
Legit! My grandmother still synonymizes ANY animation with being for kids. I remember once trying to tell her Frozen or some Pixar movie I was mentioning, was for all-ages, and she seemed so hard to convince lmao

Best example of this is how much trouble Vivziepop had when youtube's algorithm decided her Hazbin Hotel series was "for kids" and started recommending Pepper Pig to people watching it. I really hope the recommendations didn't swing both way >.>

I love love love your channel, as a weird kid myself in the late 80s thru the 90s we moved alot so I was always the new kid, shy, a bit off and socially awkward...I'm 35 now and my kids showed me this channel and it's like a narration of my entire childhood into adulthood...thank for letting us weirdos know it's ok to be ourselves ♥️

Honestly, I'm not sure why I enjoy the story time animators... But from the time I was staying home raising my kids then through the pandemic your story is gave me sort of like the opportunity to meet people. In a way. Your stories were more in-depth and having the opportunity to hear people felt like there was more closeness than texting. You guys are all pretty much on demand where real people have no play button.
Yeah, I'm going to be 40 and I still enjoy your stuff. Your stories are fantastic, relatable, and enjoyable. Mostly because they are lived stories.
That and for me it's probably because you're neurosis are about as bad as mine LOL

I’ve had people recognize me at Horror movie conventions (sometimes actors from movies I’ve reviewed) and at most just wanted to buy me drinks at the bar. I can’t imagine what I would do in these type of awkward situations. 😱

I think one time I was in Disneyland and I walked right past Rebecca. This was like two-to-three years ago. She had just got back from Star Wars land as she was carrying a big bag with one of those custom lightsabers inside. I don't remember what else she had, but when I realized it was her she was long gone.

One of my favorite stories I've ever heard is the guy who plays Prince zuko apparently he got realized at a Starbucks and the guy literally asked him are you Prince zuko
So I teach magic on Diagon Alley at Universal, and as such I interact with A LOT of kids. And said kids tend to spend a lot of time in and around Orlando, as do I. And these kids have some amazing memories apparently, because even though the costume stays at work and my face is covered from the nose down the entire time I'm there, they'll remember me based on my voice or my hair style or my body shape or something. So, while I explore the muggle world in search of food and swag, I have been recognized as "the wizard" by no less than 10 different families. I'll usually try to smile and give a little wave, but if I'm more on the ball I'll say something like "SSH! The ministry will have your head if you out us like that!" or if I happen to have my wand, I'll pull it out and give it a couple waves along with a wink. Its funny just how much of an impact you can have on kids without really realizing it!

Ooohhhh you good lad/lass you have no idea! It's not just kids. What I called Harry Potter World popped up in the universal in California some years ago. My first time seeing it I. LOST. MY. MIND. At 23 years old at 5'3 I BOOKED it away from my fiance and his family and I made them panic because they couldnt see where I went. I got a wand and hufflepuff robe and came across the train conductor. I have HORRID stage fright. Hate being the center of attention. But this man, bless is heart interacted with me in such a way when I went up with him that I ended up semi-performing right along with him in front of strangers I'd typically be afraid of. For lack of better wording, it was absolutely magical. I'll always hold that special memory in my heart. Thank you for doing what you do. It makes a huge difference in peoples lives, I promise!
