Changing the Needle Gauge

In this video, we are changing out the standard needle gauge on a Juki industrial sewing machine. It comes with a quarter-inch gauge that we swap out with an inch and a quarter. You will need an allen set and a flat head screwdriver for this.

After watching a dozen videos on this process with no spoken words, I was vaguely aware of what I was doing. This video is awesome. Are you eyeballing the 2.5mm rise of the needle? Or are to referencing what it was before you moved the saddles out?

Can you change the needle gauge as shown here, on an LU-2860? Or does this only work on the LU-2860-7 model?
