There are two different types of weapons in ancient times 1) Shastra and 2) Astra.
Shastra are normal weapons eg- bow and arrows, sword etc.. Astra are the magical weapons and they are further 2 types of of Astra, a) Normal Astra and b) Divyastra. good joke.....RR\R was fun...but some scenes just felt too silly/illogical for a movie of that scale....
its not at all westernised... this is based on hindu culture and weapons of gods.. and why the colour of fire looks unrealistic is bcoz of the saturation.. its of course is a choice of artist to make it more saturated. its a artistic choice just like you thought.. and this choice is quite understandable as this movie is about magical god power.. and it is not over the top as this is a universe where these things exists.. you can take mcu as an example.. and for me I think mcu is very over the top as the characters are wiping half of universe by just snapping out the fingers.. lol.. but still that entertain us which ultimately is our goal to watch movies

Hindu mythology is one of the oldest mythologies. The concept of this movie is inspired by the hindu mythology n culture.
Initially I was like what is this and then I was like all right it looks amazingly graphic stunning the whole story arc is so magically done you're literally feel like you're transported into a whole new world the actors superb the action just right the romance is so beautiful literally two hours well-worth spent . I cannot wait until the the second movie
