@Very Witty Name Waht if I told you I did? Almost died had like two health. Landed on the island with the pods of the people that we were supposed to have been saving.
In the databank entry for the ancient floater, it says that floaters can attach to leviathans and force it to the surface, suffocate it, and then eat it over the course of a few months

My friend once showed me subnautica. I started doing things with floaters, he said "don't mess with them". I asked why. He said that he lost cyclops because it went to the orbit.

There used to be a glitch a long time ago where if you let a floater go inside your base it would instantly take massive damage and start to flood. So Yeah, Floaters are scary.

Not really floater, but rather wildlife related: I was standing on a rock during the rescue ship cutscene and as it ended I drifted into the sky and got a tour of the island. At first I thought it was a scripted part of the scene but then I looked down and realized that I was standing on a skyray that must have picked me up at the rock. The timing was amazing, I certainly couldn't recreate it if I tried.

One time a floater attached itself to a boomerang just outside my base, and it was CONSTANTLY slamming into the walls. Day and night just

@@AzazelTV18 if there truly wasn't collision in the normally inaccessible areas, and the player managed to miss the rooms, there's a couple things that could happen:
1. The player would fall to infinity
2. The player would fall to the deepest explorable depth if the devs implemented a way to limit how deep a player can go.
3. There's actually terrain underneath the Aurora that still has collision, so you'd just be stuck at ground level.
Omg imagine going off the map where to grown up ghost leviathan's are while it was pushing you straight down...
That happened to my cyclops and I got launched out the map to were the spawn and I had three of them chasing me

I dropped a floater in base once and it went crazy. Wrecked the base.
I remember one time in Subnut I got attacked by a Bleeder while I was doing something else (I forget exactly what though), and my character just kept throwing gang signs for no reason.

I actually used to use floaters when my Cyclops would become stuck in various spots, hella useful to get the thing unjammed from the outside.

@@HeBurnt_MyShake Since Leviathan is a measurement of size, not danger, that makes the ancient floaters the largest living Leviathan. Plus, the larger a hostile Leviathan, the more dangerous it is, so if the ancient floater decided to attack, you wouldn't last a moment.

This could have been solved so quickly to fix this entire bug, feed the thing to the dang bio-reactor.
Imagine this glitch happening in the deadzone, but it just YANKS you straight down, faster then any of the ghost leviathans could even move to attack you... but ALSO so far down, infinitely, that your last dying breath is just a floater dragging you thousands of meters down, in mere seconds. 😅

i love that sigh when you enter your base, pretty much sums up subnautica
One of the fastest way to travel use to involve using the gravity rifle to hold those human eating crab and stand on it, while a floater is attached on the bottom of the crab. This way you will be able to surf on a flying crab in the sky. Surfing a flying seamoth works, too.

Another way is to stand on a stasis rifle and use the propulsion cannon on the rifle, making it float around and you can control it.
@@sebby7030 Ya. It's basicly the same. I can't remember whether a floater need to be involved or not.
You can slo do this with the Prawn Suit’s Propulsion cannon arm and a small storage crate. Just hold it, jump, and look down. You’ll stand on it and when you walk it will stay under you. So you can basically fly underwater with the prawn suit. It does take a lot of power though.

if you mean flying through the air, a bug, you are able to scan the floaters and get a description of what they do, but they basically make what ever there lacked to float the surface, and if you check under the floating island you'll get a big surprise

I love how when the fly glitch happens, the character always ends up in the most inconvenient areas, the dead zone, the crash zone, etc(I ran out of examples, but you get the idea).
i remember finding these bugs.... still in, its one of my fav things to mess around with
That bit at about 3:50 with the thing on his head made my flesh crawl so goddamn hard. That was viscerally uncomfortable and scary, more so then any actual monster in the game.

I remember how amazing it felt to first step into 4546b. There isn’t much left to do other than explore the Lava Zone. I wish I could forget everything I’ve done in the game. Maybe then I could start over, and feel that incredible feeling of curiosity and wonder.

there was a teqnique i used with my cyclops which i did whenever i got it stuck in safe shallows, which was chuck an absolutely insane amount of floaters on one part of the cyclops until the physics system freaks out, and usually that puts my cyclops into an actually recoverable situation. although cramming loads of items into a space that doesn't fit (like directly outside the smaller cyclopse entry hatch) does the trick too 😅
I was new to subnautica and I found a floater and attached it to the top of the life raft when all of a sudden I was launched across the map out of boundaries, I was terrified to look under water the entire time of swimming back…. I still am afraid to look underwater at times, eventually a ghost leviathan came and killed me

The floater launching you all the way to hell happened to me once. I ended up in the side of the Aurora, just in time to see a freaking Reaper spawn next to me. Did I died? No. But my heart sure did.
That fade out at the end made me think you were somehow running out of oxygen in the cyclops

All of the floater's shenanigans felt like one of those cartoons where the character desperately tries to make something simple stay in the place it's supposed to be, I loved it! XD ( My fav part was the "helmet" bit, the camera acting made me wheeze! )
