As someone who moved back to the province at the height of the pandemic, this short video brought alot of memories of city life. The daily commutes, the walks during summer heat or even floods, and the sight of food anywhere you go. I still come back from time to time. But not really used to the city life anymore.
I lived in both countries. Thais, in my opinion are far more refined: food, art, history, elegance, never been colonised etc... PH is good fun, has great diving and friendly English speaking people. But Manila is a dump.
My tita lives near UDMC towers. Just renovated their house got to see it all torn down and see the old construction from the 1940s. Now a new 3 level place with observation deck. My cousin got the Idea from me when I built my house in Aurora province.

I regret never being able to get to Manilla for a look-see when I was stationed in Subic Bay back in the early 80's. Really liked the people and Country, mostly!! LOL
Sayang stationed there but did not go around. At least you got to look around the Subic area right? And Angeles city night life. Did you go see Tick at the DMZ bar, he sold it and now has a resort that’s if he is still alive. Last time I saw him was at the Rojas BLVD VA clinic in 2008.

( midnight for military personnel if they didn't have a place off base. ) That's the last place, a bar in Angeles City, by Clark Air Base, where I spent my last night in the Philippines waiting to fly out the next morning. Lots of places to see in Olongapo, if that's how it's spelled, and had a house at Baloy Beach where there was a bar on the beach of Subic Bay owned by a retired Marine Sargent, I think was his rank. Nice place for about $ 70 bucks a month if memories serve me well. 😁 I've been all up and down town in Alongapo so I'll bet I have been in that bar many times but don't recall the names of any of them. Decades have gone by. 🤷♂️🤦♂️🫤

Break out the popcorn we in for a bumpy ride.
