Reaching Master Rank with Galaxy-Eyes Photon Deck (Combos and Guides)

- Have been interested in reaching Master Rank with Galaxy-Eyes Photon deck. With the new support coming earlier this month, it's finally possible to do that, since the going 1st combo becomes more consistent.
The deck favors going 1st. Making a strong board is pretty consistent, and the deck can run through some handtraps (like ash/imperm). I have updated the deck a bit from my last Galaxy Photon deck (which got me to Diamond 1), due to some struggle at Diamond 1 against Mikanko and Purrely. After some games against them, I learned how to counter these new popular decks with this deck, which I explain in the video.
However, the deck can struggle hard against some handtraps, like Maxx C, Droll, and Shifter, or GY floodgate cards, like Dimensional Fissure, Necrovalley, etc), so dont be surprised when that happens.

Winning against meta with pure engine and meta knowledge is so satisfying
anime decks are equal to meta if you put the time, commitment, and max their potential.
@@Cardlimitstrue to an extent, but if you play against a meta deck with a pilot who is equally knowledgeable and skilful as you are, then you’re still at a disadvantage. Master Duel is sort of the perfect environment to play more rogue stuff like this, since the average opponent tends to be pretty mid regardless of what they’re playing, whereas in paper formats you come across players who know their deck and it’s strengths/weaknesses vs other decks/points of interaction inside-out.

I just came across your channel and holy moly bro you are a goat. I love Galaxy and seeing you stomp over the meta with it actually brings a tear to my eye. I also especially love that you have commentary on the side as you’re dueling so I can read and understand how you went about your plays. that match against purrely was so canon it nearly made me shed a tear. The opponent pulls out his trump card that you tried to deny the entire match and erases your entire board that was about to win. But you had one and to secure victory, the Number's LAST Hope and you not only summoned A XYZ monster but you summoned the TOP BOSS MONSTER OF THE DECK to one shot him through a negate he thought would allow him to win... crazy.
The name of "Number's Last Hope" doesnt lie. It really is the last hope for number decks xD
No cards on field or hand, opponent has his boss monster out and his turn ends, and what do I draw... Last Hope. Felt like a protagonist when I ended the duel with over 8k damage.
I just repicked this deck up since i got tired of the meta and this video has been a huge help to get me back into the swing of things
I just remember that GEPD has effect lol, always feels like a vanilla

I'm actually a blue eyes deck fan and I love binge watching your videos.. you're so smart in creating different decks and combos.. I'm dueling before at my senior high school years and still studying the current gameplays and meta.. I hope someday to learn and memorize all decks and counters in all gameplays.. winning after using gepd's battle banish effect isnt something i would expect when we got the new support, but it's definitely very nice to see.
I got royal finish galaxy techyon for so long. Seeing you used it against mikanko makes me glad i keep it. With the new galaxy eye support might be a good time for me to try them.

@@user-ld3cs3pe7y I think it's very good for an anime deck. The deck can combo and OTK well. Combo decks in general hate Maxx C, shifter, Nibiru, or even droll, so the deck obviously suffer from that as well. If you compare any anime decks with meta, it will look mediocre ngl, but compared than before, galaxy photon is much better now (for example, it can play through interruptions)
This is my favorite deck and cause Galaxy-eyes photon dragon is what started my passion for dragons

I also wish blue eyes could get a gacha as good as Purrely, honestly tho, the only thing that gacha card ( the Blue Eyes one ) would need is: ok it's the hardest of hard once per turn's, BUT! it's a continuous spell, like Purrely, adding a new blue eyes card OR Monster every turn without losing board presence or card advantage is all blue eyes needs to be "almost" competitive

Yeah, I would also like that kind of errata/retrain for Blue-Eyes gacha. Tbh, I dont believe if Kaibacorp machine breaks just after one use, just like the normal spell "Bingo Machine Go", and you need to get the new one in order to use it again. Hopefully Konami fixes this issue when they make the new support for Blue-Eyes.

I barely played this month so I'm only in platinum, my deck has more going 2nd cards like lightning storm because I lose the coinflip so often, but even when I go first the opponent always has one of Nib, Super Poly, kaijus etc.
Perhaps one day I'll manage to reach master rank as I have never been able to.
Just came back into Master duel after hearing my favorite archetype finally got a buff but man I've been having to play GE completely differently now and it's taking a while to get the hang of so this video came at the perfect time also yeah I can't tell you how many times I've misplayed Emperor forgetting it needs a photon on the field
So many texts on Emperor may make you miss some card effects' detail ngl.

I love playing galaxy eyes to me its really fun to play and even though old blue eyes is my first favorite dragon but its not as consistent as galaxy eyes tho but galaxy eyes is my second favorite dragon and then wing dragon of ra but the god cards really need more support they have the potential to be really good keep up the great work nice to see galaxy eyes making the meta sweat lol 😆
Swear I’m the only one who likes keeping GPD and Soldier out instead of linking off for Solflare. I sometimes summon Infinity with Soldier but if not I’ll make it level 4 and summon GPD that way. Having GPD giving Blast Dragon the ATK boost aka making ur whole field untargetable/indestructible is crazy. I’ve had many duels agaisnt folks who jus don’t know what to do lol. And if they try to beat over ur Blast Dragon, Jumper to end the battle phase! No Zeus!
GPD and Photon Blast making your entire field "tower" feels so good ngl.

I wanted to ask you if any of the new galaxy support works well with previous blue-eyes XYZ otk decks?
Not really. New galaxy supports are good for pure galaxy photon build. But you can play C62 in BE XYZ OTK, to get 3 attacks before you overlay it into Zeus.

Seriously, the only problem i have with Galaxy-Eyes is the fact that i often forgot i have no GEPD in deck left for Afterglow effect. Seriously sucks especially when you fight Kash.
It happens
Beware that Mikanko can indeed OTK if they get Ohime on board with another Mikanko monster as they can use Mayowashidori to return the Mikanko monster with Double Edged Sword to the hand thus popping double edges which then lets Ohime to equip it and OTK an empty board best bet would be to slot in Quaking Mirror Force, Swords of Revealing Light, Book of the Moon, or for the shits and giggles of taunting Mikanko or OTK strats Rainbow Life.
So I wanted to ask is this the best most optimised version ? Or is there a better version utilising other engines and cards?? I know this is a pure photon dragon deck but what would be the most optimised version of this deck that would incorporate other cards/engines to use competitively ? What would the deck list be like as I really love photon dragon decks and was very happy with the support but felt it abit mediocre
For the engine part, yes, the pure cards I play are what I think the best for the deck. You can still play other pure engine cards imo. They are still good, but I decided to cut them for more handtraps. For optional/tech/anti meta cards, I think you can replace them with other alternative cards (in the desc) that you feel better for your games. If you mean other engines, like Mekk-Knight, I think you cant do that, because the new support's combo will often need to use Galaxy Trance, which keeps you to only play Galaxy Photon for the entire turn.
If you compare this deck to meta decks, yeah, I think the deck can feel a bit mediocre. But, compared to what it was, the new support makes this deck way better imo, because now you can better play around handtraps than it was.

I dont think they are needed after the new support imo, because you will most likely Galaxy Trance in your combo, and it locks you to only summon Galaxy/Photon.

1. Yes, the card can be good against some decks but the downside is it can brick you (like all staples I guess?)
2. I dont think 97 and 100 are needed for the deck since it already has No C62 (with its OTK potential and protection effect), not to mention Trance can lock you hard.
have you considered playing small world? Or does it brick more often than not
I dont think I need small world, because the deck already has so many 2 card combos imo, so you dont really need to search any specific card.
Please tell me how to use Maxx "C", when my opponent took special summon why I could not see I drew 1 card ?
Maybe droll has already resolved in that turn?

Cleric is fine. But, Bujin link doesnt feel to be really needed, if you learn the combos with the new cards.

Btw,i noticed that u didnt rlly use cipher X at all.Did u do this intentionally?
Use it on opp's choke points/boss monsters. Also you need to discard appropriate cards, so that you can still combo after droplet. Cipher X is still played in some combo lines (for example when you detach afterglow+emperor, to use their GY effects), tho it seems I missed including it into this video (I think I played that in the previous video).

Since you add “Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon” is it a good idea to also add “Number C107: Galaxy-Eyes Neo Tachyon Dragon”? and if so, you can add some of these rank-up magic “rapid chaos rank-up magic”, “argen chaotic force rank-up magic” or “rank-up magic - The seventh” precisely for the latter letter “Number C107”?
I think it can be a good idea for a fun deck, tho I dont think it's good for the ladder version.

1:06 technicaly mikanko can otk u on this board if they have enough resources since u mill your jumper they can reborn with fire dance, kaiju and double edge sword but i guess he doesnt have enough combo piece huh.
