For those needing help remembering the Protocol Data Units (PDU's) for example segments, frames etc... Remember this mnemonic: Don't Some People Fear Birthdays? Don't (data) Some (segment) People (packet) Fear (frame) Birthdays (bits) This helped me remember it.
I learned this and "People don't need to see people angry" . There is anger when people can't access their Facebook on company time because of a network issue, so that sticks with me :D.

Thank you, I'm glad you noticed! I try to use words and phrases that make it easier for non-native speakers to understand, and also add manual subtitles that are accurate. I guess my 5 years as an English teacher in Japan helped me learn how to speak in an easy-to-understand way.

Great video Jeremy. This is one of the best explanations of the OSI model I've seen. Just one suggestion. Although it is implied here, I think it's important to explicitly point out that every layer of the OSI model (and TCP/IP suite) is dependent on the layers below them to function. So in other words, if Layer 1 (Physical) fails, then nothing else above this layer can function. This seems obvious at Layer 1, but at the logical layers above the same applies (if Layer 3 fails then Layers 4-7 will also fail). At the same time, if a device functions at say Layer 3 (like a router) then by default it also functions at Layers 1 and 2. This also means that a PC functions at all layers of the OSI model. That graphic you found of data flow is EXCELLENT. Makes it so easy to understand.

I've now finished day 3, and trying to do the lab. Do you have a video with the solution in each lab, or what do we have to achieve? it seems that the packet tracer is a very powerful programm with lots of capabilities. Any advise? I agree, this is a very, very good high level overview/explanation. Anyone who thinks the CCNA is hard, go look CCNA books circa 2000's and be amazed.

2. Dance = Data link
3. Near = Network
4. The = Transportation
5. Shiny = Session
6. Purple = Presentation
7. Apple = Application
