    I have a Daewoo Musso 2001 since 2011 I think (it is my parents' car and I was a kid when they bought it). But it's wonderful. A few months ago it reached it first 200000 km. I learned to drive there, and it gives me the security of a good car, strong, which resist almost everything I can do it with it. This car makes me a better driver and it's a pleasure to have it today. My only wish is to have it until I dead.

    Thanks for the review! I have one produced in Russian under Tagaz Road Partner name with 2.3 MB M111(161) engine. Very reliable and simple DIY vehicle. Travelled a lot From polar circle to Altay mountains, -40 to +40 C. Never had an issue on the road. My farther used to drive another one until it rolled over at the speed of 87 km/h. The body got damaged beyond repair, father is Ok and now he is driving Korando (Tager) which is a three door with the same engine and transmission.

    I just purchased a used daewoo Musso (2000) and let me tell you. every time I drive it I fell like it has purpose and has lived such a long and endearing life. I want to add upgrades to it badly, and just seeing your video gives me hope in this car.

      I'm still not sure what exactly it is that makes people love them. I think a it's similar charisma to a 90s HiLux or Defender 90\110. It'd be nice to get access to those for videos some time. I've been struggling to get out there to film of late though :-(

      I've got a 2.3 petrol version and it's had several mods! Snorkel, steel modular wheels with Roadcruza mud tyres, bull bar off mitsubishi pajero, sprayed matt black, roof bars, 42 inch led light bar, 2 x led spots on bull bar, fitted a towbar! I love it to bits! Sails through its MOT every year with no advisories! I do all the maintenance and servicing myself regularly! Not a spot of rust! They just don't rot if used and looked after!

    i have a 2006 pickup musso with a straight pipe coming out of the rear passanger door, love the sound, it has 265/75 tires and does good burnouts, drifts on dirt and ive actually jumped the truck a few times hahaha nothing breakes and nothing bends, pulls over 2.000kg like its nothing and can houl over 1000 on the pickup (gives 7km x liter always doesnt matter if its loaded or unloaded) gearbox its junk tho, first gear only works if parked because it grinds and second does "clak" when enters hahaha to be espected after 250.000 km

    I bought mine for 800 quid with only ,35000 on the clock one owner with a brand new clutch .however I had to renew all the breaks amd lines as they had perished and gone rusty and seized. Watch out for rust on the chassis especially on the rear .my rear strut holding the rear axle in line snapped yesterday I heard a bang and before I knew it I was going up up the road sideways like a crab .I took it to my local garage and they told me to scrap it.I'm going to repair it as it doesent look impossible .

    I have the older model, a 1996. Has a couple small issues like the drivers door dosnt lock even tho it appears it is and the glove box handle is missing and has a bit of wire instead. But with over 300,000 on the clock you gotta have something wrong at that mileage

    Great vid pal thanks. A great piece of modern design at 5he tim3 by Ken Greeley he of Aston Martin design fame. I bought a 1998 Ssangyong Musso auto it had 90k on the clock when I bought it I had it for nearly 8 years and I sold it with 340,000 on the original engine never let me down. I’ve had various Porsche , Lexus, Alfa’s Jags loads but I bought lastof the merc engine Rexton just because 😂👍

    What are the pitfalls in a Musso I have to look out for when buying today? I heard the metal is rather thing in crucial places . What about rust?

    • @jaspersilus
      @jaspersilus 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Body panels are galvanised, rarely rust, ladder chassis lasts if you protect it with underseal or wash it regularly in winter!

      Watch the rear chassis rails especially at the rear and the rear axle link arms can rust out on the base connecting the axle to the car causing the rear axle to move back .could be dangerous if let go at high speed.So poke everthing underneath well before you buy.This applies to all cars of this age as chassis rot can be a killer .unless you are handy with a welder or know someone who can do mates rates .As welding could set you back a easy 500 to a thousand+ pounds very quickly.better to buy a cheap aldi welder and do some practice welds before you have a go youself.

    Hi do you know if the automatic gearbox offered in 2001 was MB ?

    • @autofanatica944
      @autofanatica944  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would expect that to be the case but don't quote me on that. I've not had the joy of experiencing an auto version yet. They are getting somewhat hard to find.

    hello good night .. I would love to please if it is possible that the video has the audio in Spanish ..... I am from Argentina and I am in an international group that we all have the musso and korando that bring mercedez engine and I wish I could share that video and that all or most can understand it, since there are no Castilian videos about the SsangYong musso..thank you very much, Marcos de Neuquén Argentina greets you

      I meant to reply to this before. I sadly don't know anyone who speaks Spanish well enough to make a dub for me. :-(

      Did ever anyone make a 5th gear set for that 2.9D Musso with a longer ration to get the revs down when you cruse in 5th gear. 5th gear ratio is shorter than 1,2,3and 4 for what ever useless reason
